Today's time spent on the phone with the pharmacy. No one ever answered the phone.

This is the worst Duane Reade I have ever been to. The customer service is HORRIBLE. I must dedicate hours on the phone in order to speak with someone about my meds. Most of the time, I will wait on hold for hours and still no one will pick up. Today I decided to stick it out because I wanted to have my meds transferred to another pharmacy, and to find out why a med that was supposed to be delivered last week had not arrived. Of course, no one answered. I thought I would get lucky because there were only 2 customers ahead of me, but after 3 hours on hold, I had to give up. I do not understand why the service is so bad. My meds were forwarded to this location because my old one closed, but after such poor service, I can no longer remain a customer of Duane Reade. They need to do better by their customers. p.s. I gave one star for the few times that I was able to speak with a rep. They were nice and helpful.

I definitely not the best duane trade but it does the job when you need something. They have deals time to time and sometimes no extremely long lines due to limited staff at the register. Also, needing assistance can be a bit. Although, they usually are in stock and try their best to decrease the lines and provide somewhat of food service

Everything is locked up - no ones in sight to help

I've lived in this neighborhood for over 15 years now. This Duane Reade is usually always understaffed and the staff who did show up to work are usually unfriendly. To make matters worse, and to make our neighborhood seem worse, they've put almost every item behind locked glass cases and you need to request "employee assistance" for basic items such as shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, toothpaste, etc. In NO other neighborhood have I seen this foolishness. Not to mention when you press the button for assistance it takes 5 minutes for someone to show up and then they show up as if you bothered them. Its a nuisance. Also being that this is a predominantly Latinx/Black neighborhood it would help if the beauty products reflected that. There are hardly ever enough of the shades of makeup that truly represent the demographic. Furthermore (and then I'm getting back to work), I've dropped off a package as a part of their partnership with FedEx. I was continuously monitoring the tracking to see that it was given to the driver. After 2 days I called and the manager informed me that "oh, it was in the pile of packages received this whole time"..... how did it get there? That's quite careless if you ask me. Better off going to a FedEx location to ensure proper handling of your packages. Other than that, the one thing I can say is that this DR is usually clean and I've never had issues with the pharmacy. Ciao.

This is my favorite location, always a pleasure going. Lily was amazing, super helpful and very kind. She's the best they got.

Huge line. Unfriendly staff. Don't bother. There are more Duane Reade stores and competitors all over the city.

I walked into a space that covers a lot of ground, from snacks and drinks to beauty products, home goods, and collectibles, and the density of what is on display makes it easy to spend more time browsing than I planned. The snack selection is the strongest draw and covers an impressive range. I saw Asian versions of familiar American snacks sitting alongside Japanese and Korean originals, and the drink section downstairs is broad enough that finding something I have not tried before is a near certainty. The variety of drinks, many with anime or character branding, reflects a buying approach that goes beyond the standard convenience store selection. The beauty and skincare section upstairs is well stocked with Korean and Japanese brands that are not widely available at American drugstores. I browsed through everything from face wash to sheet masks and specialty treatments, and the prices are competitive for imported products of this type. Blind boxes occupy their own significant section, and the selection across different series is one of the better in the city, with reasonable pricing relative to what the same items cost at specialty toy stores. Home goods, toys, collectibles, and kawaii accessories fill the remaining floor space. For a one stop shop for Korean and Japanese lifestyle goods, snacks, and beauty products in Koreatown, TESO Life delivers a broad and browsable experience that rewards repeat visits.

Right after they charged me, the order was canceled with the excuse that I had requested the cancellation, which is absolutely false. I never canceled anything. Since then, my money has been in dispute because: The company does not respond to emails. They only send automated messages saying someone will get in touch with me, but no one ever does. Meanwhile, MELIO claims that they already sent the money to the seller and is now asking me to either pay again or provide my card number so they can try to charge me again. Absolutely not! This is robbery. I should not have to lose my money like this. And who is going to compensate me for the damage? This situation is unacceptable. I have already reported this case to: My credit card company The Better Business Bureau The appropriate authorities here in California These two companies are working together to scam people. I walked into a store that is essentially one large room, and the density of product on display meant navigating it during a busy period required some patience, but the selection within that compact space was broader than the size suggested. The Korean literature section covers both Korean language and English language editions across a range of genres, which makes it genuinely useful for anyone studying the language or looking for titles that are difficult to find at general bookstores in the city. I saw children's books in Korean, well stocked. The K pop side of the store covers albums, photocards, posters, keychains, stickers, and merchandise across a wide range of artists, with BTS having a particularly strong presence historically alongside newer groups. Pricing runs higher than what I would pay ordering online or finding the same items at a larger retailer, which is the standard trade off for a specialty shop in Manhattan. Album prices in particular can be steep, though sale events bring them down to more competitive territory. Individual accessory items like stickers and bookmarks are priced at a premium relative to their size, so going in with a sense of what I am willing to spend helps avoid sticker shock at the register. The store is a reliable stop for anyone looking for Korean books or K pop merchandise in a physical retail setting in New York, with the caveat that the pricing and the crowd level are both factors worth knowing about before I go.
