I hired Choice Hardwoods to complete a fairly large job. They were cordial and communicative, which…read moreis why they got the job. But once they started it was fairly downhill. The help was just some labor off Craigslist. Only the head guy knew what he was doing. Although the finished product had swirl marks, a finished coat that wasn't thick enough, and footprints on the oak steps. When contacted about these issues and asked to fix them, in a very cordial and cooperative manner, the owner Jesse Engel refused. I got other bids from flooring contractors who all agreed the finish coat wasn't sufficient or thick enough, and Choice HW screwed up on the treads (i.e. the footprints). I offered Choice MORE money to come out and fix the job, but they refused. Only option now is legal means to try to recoup the money. If you're looking for a flooring job on a budget, sure, hire this company. But if you're looking for detail-oriented and actually care how it turns out, don't expect anything from Choice. They should not be your choice.
