Fantastic little shop with a tasty array of unique Chai lattes. Dubai Chai was a more traditional chai, like you would find at your local Indian restaurant, but with a bit more sweetness so it really goes down easy. The Masala Chai absolutely smelled amazing but, surprisingly, didn't pack much punch on the spice-o-meter. While it was good, it wasn't the WOW I expected. This was a cool spot that we went to on a Monday night, it wasn't overly packed. We were able to get seats right outside on a beautiful summer night. We had green tea, hot tea. Both were great. We also had milk tea as well as several of the chocolates that were all delicious. We also had a hookah which was a little bit strong at the beginning, but the owner came out and fixed it right up for us. Overall, very pleasant experience we would go back to the spot if in the area. read more

Let me start out by telling you guys, this place is amazing and so is the owner. Got the chance to meet him and he was the most kind hearted person ever I was greeted with some desserts and an amazing hookah after deciding what type of flavor I would like to smoke. The ambience is beautiful a very nice Turkish Middle Eastern vibe with amazing music playing in the background. Great for chilling and grateful for having a little change of environment. My partner & I unfortunately didn't enjoy our experience here. We ordered a caramel macchiato and a habibi latte - both lacked flavor, tasted bland. There were barely any desserts displayed and our hookah burned so fast, a TON of smoke came out when the guy blew on it. Their espresso machine is SO disturbingly loud, it stops your conversation midway and makes for a very unpleasant ambiance, wanting to immediately leave after the 2nd time. The server never came to ask if we were ok unless we asked for help. The background music also didn't match with a chill hookah vibe. This place fell short on several accounts. We personally wouldn't recommend this place to others. read more

Coffee was good, I tried the habibi latte it's my favorite, the ambience it's perfect but the big Dubai bar was nothing I expected! Disappointed, the chocolate is thick and very little pistachio with not much flavor, just a plain big bar. They had more desserts but they didn't introduce us to them they need variety when it comes to coffee more pastries. Hope next time I come visit they have more. read more

My wife and I are from out of town. She was looking for a good place to have some chai and we stumbled upon this place. For starters, Cal the owner/manager was so kind and hospitable it was hard not to like him. The chai he made for us was so good and perfectly balanced with the spices. We tried both the imported and house made chocolate, I have to say the house made chocolate is better in my humble opinion, I like the crunch. Overall a fantastic place with good vibes! read more

I was surprised & impressed by how they prepared this elegant ( there's simply no other word) cup of coffee that blew my mind with the attention to detail they placed in this simple cup of coffee ( I truly won't explain what's in it you need to just go) . Giving it 3 stars because the bathrooms are DISGUSTING. There's only 2 unisex bathrooms and they are often clogged up. If it isn't clogged up, there's no toilet paper or it's just trashed. Sometimes the door lock is broken too and won't lock properly. They have been doing some renovations to their furniture but not the bathroom. It's so gross. The specialty drinks are really good. Especially when the bartender Chase is there. My favorite is the Pink Lagoon. It'll sneak up on you because it is made with tequila. It's like an alcoholic pink drink with the coconut cream, guava and pineapple. Pricy with drinks averaging $15-20 and they have an automatic 18% surcharge on weekends (that is not tip). Food is great. Some of the best wings downtown. The lamb chops are really good too. I wouldn't get the wagyu sliders. It wasn't good. It tasted like an average slider advertised to be fancier since it's "Wagyu". I've had better sliders elsewhere for much cheaper. Save your $30. Parking here is horrible because it's in the heart of gaslamp. Horton plaza parking is probably your best bet if you can't find street parking.

Honestly , i rarely write reviews, I have never been to a lounge that has exceeded my expectations . I'll tell you why . I was treated with respect as a Muslim hijabi woman. This place is great for studying its does get busy towards the evening time around 6 pm and up . However for me it's doable . The owners and employees check on you periodically and make sure your hookah is up to standards so you don't have to spend on a refill spoiler alert I still spend on a refill because I'm here for a while and it's just good vibes. They don't rip you off . The prices are cheaper than other places by a couple bucks. The drinks are so good I tried a simple hazelnut latte and then I tried a Dubai latte and I'm not a sweet tooth kind of person but it's so good !! The Dubai chocolate here is hands down the best downtown . I think Dubai chocolate is overrated but let me tell you the white Dubai chocolate is bomb.com. I also had their strawberry redbull it's also yummy. Parking i can see it being bit difficult for people but I never had an issue , I always found one up front or down the street. Feel free to talk to the employees and owners they are very understanding and have great communication skills. Give it a try it won't hurt and I am a harsh critic so trust me I get it and I know the needs of everyone just wanting there own space and is on a date maybe and want to have privacy . Spoiler alert: this isn't the dancing party place if you want that , possibly check out mina or myst however they are over priced butttttt if you wanting that party vibe I am assuming that won't matter. Dubai Café is legit one of the best hookah spots in San Diego. The hookah hits smooth and clean, no harshness at all. You can tell they know what they're doing. I had their house-made Dubai chocolate and it was seriously good--rich, not too sweet, and really high quality. The tea was solid too--strong, flavorful, and a great match with the chocolate and hookah. The vibe is chill, the place is clean, and the service was on point. I stopped by Dubai Café and had such a great time. The coffee was really good super smooth and flavorful. Their hookah was honestly some of the best I've had, and the vibe was just right for relaxing. I also finally got to try the Dubai chocolate bar, and it totally lived up to the hype. Me and my coworkers came out to see this new place in downtown. We were greeted, sat wherever we liked and we ordered all the house specials. All the recommendations were truly rich quality, the hookah was the best ive had in san diego, and the coffee was strong as promised. A stage area was set in front of a large projection screen. The bar was situated in the back right corner of the room. Hookah pipes were offered if you were into vaping. I visited recently on the same evening as a FIFA World Cup match so most of the customers were present to watch the Morocco game on the giant screen. I sat at a sofa in the back with a coffee table in front of it. The one-page menu featured salads, soups, and hot/cold appetizers on the upper half. The lower half listed the saj wraps, entrees, featured items, combos, and desserts. Each entree was served with rice and pickles. There were 11 choices, and I picked the Shrimp Skewers. Six pieces of grilled shrimp seasoned with Mediterranean spices were served on top of orange-colored rice. A cup of tzatziki sauce and a cup of hot sauce were provided on the side for dipping. For a reasonable price of $22, the portion size was decent. The shrimp was cooked to the right degree, and the sauces helped moisten the rice. I did want a cup of Lentil Soup before the main dish, however I was informed that the kitchen didn't have any prepared. That was strange because such an item is ubiquitous and always available at any Middle Eastern eatery. Also of note was that if you wanted water, then there was a charge for a bottle of still or sparkling. Complimentary regular filtered tap water was not offered. Overall, I gave a four star rating for my dinner at Ambiance.
