Tucked away in the hotel lobby and adjacent to the concierge, you'll find a maroon colored room that serves quality coffee, select fresh pastries, and syrups made in house. Anya was such a pleasure with her bubbly personality and bouncy hair! She added such personality to a coffee shop with plenty of it already. She was sweet and super positive for my first time visiting. I was a guest at the Granger and finished up having some breakfast when I considered ending the morning with a nice latte. Although the menu is simple, it is classic and you can't go wrong with anything they offer. The area is super clean and stylish that's very moody and elevated. The details really matter in this shop, and of this hotel as a whole. Every corner you turn, you'll surely find the intentional beauty in its depth and curation. The moody and bold colors definitely make the space feel sophisticated and easily transitional from morning to night. Which makes sense, as this turns into a bar (the parlor room) in the evening. Enough of the amazing ambiance, let's get into the coffee. I ordered a hot vanilla latte and requested it to be half the sweetness it would usually be. Apart from the beautiful and perfect latte art, created by Anya, the coffee itself was particularly smooth and not acidic at all. The syrup was fresh and flavorful. If I went full sweetness, I think it would be even better because it's not that sweet to begin with. No artificial flavoring in sight. The mug was comforting as well and I really enjoyed that experience drinking in the hotel lobby. Parking might be hard to come by for people in the area because it's downtown gaslamp, but it's definitely worth the trip over. Even if you aren't a hotel guest, I've seen the other reviews you can just buzz in and request entry from the security or concierge. Thank you Anya and the granger hotel!

delicious coffee and cute interior but unfortunately a bit inconvenient to get through if you're not staying at the hotel. it felt like a daytime speakeasy - there are no signs of coffee outside at all, you have to stand by the door and hope they can let you in lol but it was worth it once you are inside. there is also a small selection of pastries and merch if you're into that. I hope they can open up their own storefront one day with the similar vibe, I would visit more often :)

Beautiful interior, so much seating. We came on a Monday afternoon and it was very calm. You do have to be asked to be let in to the coffee shop as the hotel door is locked. The girl at the coffee counter was super sweet. I had the vanilla iced latte; they have a simple menu with classics but the coffee is good. Super cozy place to come and have coffee with the girls or a place to study!

Ambiance is top tier. Coffee was delicious! Friendly and quick service. We got vanilla lattes and not only did they taste incredible but the presentation was great.

You ring the doorbell, wait patiently, and once you're inside, you realize this isn't your typical coffee shop. It's a place to slow down, enjoy the music, and savor your drink. Monique and Danica were both amazing. They're warm, welcoming, and you can really see the passion behind what they do. Danica is also the DJ, and her eclectic playlist made the whole experience even better. One of my favorite parts was just sitting there watching our drinks being made. You can see the care and craft that goes into every cup...even the Kuramoto ice is beautiful. The Matcha Americano completely changed my perception of matcha. The Kyoto cold brew pour-over was fascinating to watch and incredibly smooth. We loved it so much that we came back the very next day. This time I had the Midori, and my brother-in-law loved the Highball, especially the yuzu. No laptops. Trust the DJ. Drinks are meant to be enjoyed fresh, so take your time. If you're looking for a quick coffee run, this isn't it. But if you appreciate great coffee, good music, and people who are passionate about their craft, Long Play Hi-Fi is absolutely worth the visit.

(Dw, from the inside, you can see outside well) Drinks were really good and carefully made, song selections were unique! We ended up chatting with one of the customers there too. Chill atmosphere 10/10 recommend. There's also free wifi here, signal isn't very good. :) Parked in free street parking about a min walk away.

He suggested getting 100% but said that I could try 75% and then see if I liked it. It was SO SAFFRONY and full of spice, with a bitter aftertaste, I really wish I liked it. It was so unique because the drink doesn't rely on sugar to give it taste, unlike so many drink places in SD. The flavor wasn't up my alley, so he replaced my drink with an iced Signature Karak Chai (which he'd given me a sample before). :) And before he left his shift, he even asked me if I wanted any adjustments to my chai! I appreciated that especially as a non-coffee drinker. 11/10 service. I also ordered the Ras Malai Milk Cake. Keep in mind I really don't like tres leches so I had really low expectations for the soaked cake lol. It was actually really good! The cream wasn't super sweet, and it was topped with sliced nuts. The soaked milk in the cake actually paired well with the cake. There's both outside and inside seating, a few outlets next to the booths, and plenty of parking in the plaza. I'll def be back!
