Vanilla caramel latte

I decided to give this spot a try as its hidden and not advertised. It has a very simple and modern type of vibe in there. There is a couple of seats inside which is great. The parking can be a little tough if you don't get there early or if its during peak time for other businesses. The service was pretty quick, despite only one guy working there. The coffee was good, nothing crazy about it... my friend did try the matcha and she loved it! She got the horchata matcha and was surprised how good it was.

Absolutely love Tori's Cafe since the moment they opened here in downtown. The Melrose Matcha is literally my favorite sweet treat that gives me that extra boost on any afternoon. The Horchata Matcha is my creamy runner up, super tasty. Also The Pesto panini is Scrumptious.

Iced white peach matcha - June 2026

Came for a run club event with LSKD and really enjoyed the vibe and drinks at TORI Cafe. They have matcha, coffee and bites to eat. The service was very friendly and there was ample seating inside. I got a peach matcha and they had two special feature drinks in collaboration with Aussie brand LSKD. Street parking in East Village.

Came to this cute café, but was a little disappointed that there was only two Matcha options. I'm not sure if they use ceremonial Matcha because the Melrose matcha barely had any much of flavor. However, with the sweetener and oat milk ($1 up charge) it tasted like strawberry milk, which was good but I'd say if you're looking for a Matcha spot this is not it. The latte was alright. Also three stars.

We came here in the morning and it wasn't too busy. It seems like this is one of the only places you can get matcha that doesn't have a line down the street. But that's not to say it isn't good, it's a really solid cafe. We ordered two melrose matchas and a snickerdoodle cookie. The matchas were pretty sweet (strawberry and rose flavor) but really good. The cookie was also to die for. I would definitely return and try their regular matcha latte.

Great little cafe in San Diego. We tried their horchata with banana foam. I honestly didn't taste much banana but the drink was good. Lots of people come here to work. Everyone is nice.

Tori Cafe unfortunately didn't impress me. The menu is displayed on a single page at the main counter, so we didn't get much chance to browse through it before we were up to order. The staff unfortunately wasn't much help when it came to identifying any dairy free or vegan options, and suggested a drink with condensed milk. I ended up sticking with a basic matcha latte, for which I had to pay extra for oat milk (boo alternative milk upcharge) and extra for any kind of sweetener. I went with the sugar free vanilla syrup, but I honestly wish I just asked for some stevia packets. My drink was mediocre at best, I've had much better matchas in so cal at lower prices. My friend didn't like her drink too much either, the strawberry flavoring was overwhelming and artificial in her Melrose matcha. It was a nice place for my friend and I to hang out at for a bit, they have a cool couch and fashion/music magazines out. We also appreciated their clean private bathroom that didn't require a code or key. Overall, unless the aesthetic of Tori Cafe really speaks to you, I wouldn't really recommend this spot.

Not only is this matcha so beautiful, but it is delicious and surprisingly not sweet! A great new cafe in East village with lots of open space, a small but good menu, and quick service!

Classic modern cafe located in downtown san diego with the best vibes. Music is good. Coffee is great. The concrete, wood, and live plants are such a vibe. Service was pretty quick and the cashier was friendly.

I didn't love my matcha, but my friends thought my drink was good! I got a regular matcha with vanilla syrup. My friends got the melrose strawberry matcha and the horchata matcha. Both were good! The matcha flavor wasn't really present tho in those drinks. They were still good tho! Drinks came out pretty quick. I'd give this place a 3.5 out of 5 if I could.

I'm so happy they are finally open! I've been visiting them at their soft openings. They are located next to Yoga Box which is perfect if you need a little sweet treat after class! I'm a big fan of their Melrose strawberry matcha drink. It tastes like a strawberry shortcake! I also love their interior decor and music.

horchata matcha & cold brew

The matcha was the perfect drink to start off our day! We ordered the horchata matcha and a cold brew. The matcha was a perfect deep green color and it had great flavor, as it paired perfectly with the horchata flavor. The cafe is super large, with lots of seating and a whole couch area in the back side of it. Also, they had a mirror in the front of the business, and it made a great selfie spot! The baristas were friendly, and they had great personalities. They gave us the best recommendations and their favorites.

we visited this place on valentine's day later in the day. the barista told us beforehand that they had a busy day and they ran out of matcha and mocha . we saw a few people leave after they were told they ran out of matcha so i'm assuming it is good, so I'll be back to try it! in terms of coffee, the cold brew was good and the vanilla latte was perfect!

It's tucked into a cute neighborhood near Logan Heights. We came around 9 a.m., and street parking was easy to find. There was already a line when we arrived, but it moved pretty quickly. The baristas were friendly and welcoming, and I thought the prices were really reasonable for San Diego. I ordered the black sesame matcha, and my husband got the Piloncillo. The matcha was creamy, rich, and not overly sweet, which I really appreciated. One thing to know if you're ordering matcha or a latte--they only offer oat milk, not almond milk. My husband loved his coffee and said the espresso was smooth, flavorful, and let the coffee shine without being overcomplicated. The shop itself is really cool too. There's an art installation inside, an outdoor patio with additional seating, and I noticed quite a few people picking up bags of espresso beans while we were there. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit and would definitely come back.

Artwork is very beautiful and fits the Barrio Logan scene perfectly. I arrived with nobody inside the business minus the workers, you had maybe 2 people outside enjoying the scenery and their drinks. Not greeted upon entering the business just gave me that stare with not asking if I had any questions. I dont recall his name but he was very skinny, curly hair or wavy and i believe he had braces, but not sure if he was having a bad day but something wasn't all there. I ordered 2 drinks, I forget the other but it had cinnamon on top. The drinks were just hand on the counter without saying which drinks is which, so i asked which one is which. Didn't hear me, so i kinda said again and he pointed them out not in a nice or rude way but the approach of how it was handled was not friendly. How can you have Mazapán without the Mazapán crumbles which are very iconic to the drink. I just found it super strange and did not care for it. The cinnamon based drink was good tho, which I'll give them that. Experience could have been better.

Wait outside on the sidewalk (no exterior seating) and someone will come to take you inside. Do not ring the door bell. The theme is to take it slow. Each customer typically waits 20-30 minutes to enter as part of how they do things, even if there is open seating inside. Not sure if they use a timer to space entries but it seems consistent. They take one group in at a time. Interior: A few tables around the wall and then bar seating. Would not recommend for parties greater than 2, there just isn't the space. They welcome service animals, babies/children and strollers from what I observed. The music was very, very loud. It was difficult to hold a conversation. I did not see a bathroom. Ordering process: After seating you wait for a little bit for them to bring small water cups and a QR menu with a table number and a set of rules. They do not have a physical menu, you must use your phone to order. Cell phone reception was dicey and took a long time to load. They have an interesting concept where you have a digital 'tab' open on their toast website. Unfortunately you must provide your full name, email and phone number. They have pour over drinks (note these can take 15-20 minutes), matcha, Hojicha and others. You may only order one drink per person at a time. They have a small snack menu with rotating foods. They use oat milk only. No substitutions allowed. After mobile ordering, drinks take 20-30 minutes as part of their take it slow vibe. Matcha $8 is from Paru tea and was very good. Hojicha $8 was too milky and didn't have a strong enough flavor. When you are done you walk to the register by the door and wait to be checked out. If they are making a drink you wait until they are finished. I wasn't really a fan. Staff were brusque. Music was too loud to converse.

With all of the coffee shops popping up everywhere, it's nice to try a place that offers a different combination of flavors and unique drinks you can't get anywhere else. The menu featured various matcha tea drinks which seems to be all the rage right now. The same seating arrangement of the bar countertop and tables across from it was available if you wanted to hang out and chill. A sign behind the bar described the ceremonial grade matcha that was used with the region of origin and the flavors imparted to the powder. Five different matcha drinks were offered along with hot and cold coffees and lattes. The top three matcha choices were priced at $8 each. I chose the Ordinary Pleasure which was the first one. Pandan sticky rice milk and mango puree were added to the matcha and topped with a salted coconut foam. I wasn't a fan of the foam, but the matcha flavor was intense and contrasted by the fruity puree on the bottom of the cup. The baristas were very focused with measuring the exact amounts for each ingredient in the drinks they were preparing. The matcha quality seemed to be very good based on what I tasted so maybe it's why the price was $1 higher than what I have tried elsewhere.

The drink exhibited every core to the classic Thai dessert and there was really little room for improvement other than the ratio of rice to coconut blend could be evened out. The barista mentioned that it is on the sweeter side. When this was mentioned I felt like it would be a good pairing because the Thai coffees that I am used to having are typically on the strong side. I also heard from another customer that the Thai coffee had a slight mocha taste to it which I thought was interesting. I'm indifferent to powdered taro milk teas, although this one in particular, I did not enjoy. It was thick and sludgy, with an undertone of medicine reminding me of pepto bismol. The color was lovely, but not the taste. I wouldn't order this particular drink again. The drink I chose was medium size and it was only $5.38 (or 5.83, I can't remember & I don't think I got a receipt) ish which I can appreciate! The top portion of the drink was the Thai coffee and I really did like the flavor. Next time I'll get a different drink for sure! My friend tried the Green Thai Tea for the first time and really enjoyed the flavor of it. It had a floral jasmine + vanilla taste, a little bit on the sweet side-- but refreshing and delicious. The prices are pretty good (coffee and milk teas) and they also have smoothies (which can be on the more expensive side $9-12). Water cup is free upon request. They also have only a handful of seatings, but it's a nice area to walk around. They have umbrellas as well, but they do need a heavier stand for windy days as I've witnessed it fall into a car several times. Other than that, I recommend checking out It's Cafe Thai in Barrio Logan!
