I had pawned other items since and never heard a word about it! I went in to pick up my recent items and was told I must pay up of this older item first. I was surprised he still had it! I owed months of interest which I paid and I agreed it would be difficult to sell. I was out of work and just getting back on my feet, I did not have enough to pay for all the items! Alex stated as long as I took care of this older item today he would hold on to the expensive items I was there to pickup! I called to get the total I owed to pick up my recent items today! I was told the expensive sentimental jewelry was sold because I was so behind on the extension payments and that must buy back the new lap top for $800. My mother recently passed and the sentimental value was priceless to me. Alex totally mislead me and I was not allowed to pick up or pay up on the expensive items until I had settled up on the older item. I had no idea they held item for 8 months. Do not trust this pawn shop, they are not trustworthy! They hold on to older items for over 8 months without hearing a word and if you are a couple weeks late on expensive items they sell it, even when you make an arrangements with Alex. The jewelry was easily worth over $2,000 and the Apple laptop was new and I paid $1050. I pawned the jewelry for about $250 and the laptop for $200. He totally set me up. Alex gave me his word and that is obvious not worth anything! I am a window, mom with 4 kids and I was out of work, back to school time. I had budgeted for the recent items, I had no idea they still had that older one from 8 months ago! They take advantage of people in a tough time, I thought this pawn shop was different. It is a horrible business and they are looking for ways take anything you have of value! Do not trust a word they say! The worst part of all this is that they know this is my daughter's laptop, we needed food and she offered to pawn it this for the family. She had to come in and enter her passwords. They still have this yet are requiring $800 to get it back now! They are just about the money, they do not care how they do it! I tried to get current but Alex insisted I pay for this older item I forgot they even had and never mentioned to me for 8 months, He promised he would hold the jewelry for me if I took care of this!

One watch wasn't working at all and the second one just needed to be cleaned on the inside to get it to start working. Mr Kim quoted me 495.00 to repair the broken piece in my grandmothers watch, and quoted me 150 dollars to clean the inside of the other watch. He said the broken watch is very old and they don't make the parts anymore. Indeed it is from about 1935 but I was not expecting that price. I was shocked at the price he quoted me. I called my normal jeweler, Naranjo jewelers off of Hoadly road and they have a watchmaker that repairs their watches who comes in a few days a week. Today was one of the days he comes in. I left the broken watch with them and they called within 4 hours and quoted me 180.00 to repair the broken piece. That is quite a difference. The only thing that needed to be replaced was this circle piece that snapped on the inside of the watch. I asked Naranjo why the price is so different and they said I honestly cannot tell you because it's a very easy fix. If you need a watch repair please skip over this place and call NARANJO JEWELERS. One ring (pink) had the stone with it, but I told them that I wasn't sure if it was fractured or simply fell out. The other ring, a gold-plated indian head, with garnet eyes and Cz headband stones, had a missing stone on only one side - the ring was given to me with that stone completely missing when I purchased it from another business. I told myself that one day when it bothered me enough I would take it in and get it repaired. They said the price for repair to both would be $45, and I was fine with that. 2 days later I got the call to come pick them up. I was decently happy with the work performed, but they did have a few nit-pick issues with the work. The stones on the pink ring were blended in seamlessly and I couldn't tell which side had been replaced vs which side was original. My concern with the repairs made, and why my rating is like it is, comes down to the indian head ring. The stones were both replaced, and in doing the replacement they were not size-matched well to what should have been set into the piece. They seem almost too big, and like they weren't set in straight, or at least had the edges rounded down to fit the piece. One is turned outward so much that the edge of the stone is easy to catch on things, and the corner is visible. It might just be something that I notice, but for me it will be something that draws my attention every time I see it. Additionally, at no point was it offered to repair the finish on the ring to make it look better. I would have loved to have had it fully restored, and after these repairs were made you can REALLY see that it needs it, in the areas that were effected. I always take photos of before and after, for insurance purposes, and have provided those here for all to see, as a true no-BS glimpse into the quality of work provided - both the good and not-so-good. Would I say that I was pleased with my visit to Naranjo Jewelers? So-so. They did great work on one ring, and then not poor, but sub-par work on the other ring. They didn't do a bad job, but they didn't do a perfect or amazing job, as expected. And about 5 minutes after posting my reviews, the stone on the right side of the indian head ring just falls out...
