Sam, our bartender, was awesome! We had the Margarita flatbread that he recommended, and it was very good. Light, thin crust with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar on top. My margarita was one of the best I've had! We also got the Cinco de Mayo special (crispy chicken tacos). They were delish but contained very little chicken. I actually opened mine up to see if it had chicken in it. All in all, a fun spot for weekend drinks and apps... enjoyed the live music as well!

Very cool restaurant in The Renaissance Athletic Club. We came for Taco Tuesday. We ordered grilled fish tacos! Also, I ordered a delicious strawberry vodka cocktail!

Marriott seems to consistently produce average dining and hotel experiences. We've been to Citrus Grill twice recently and probably won't go back. The first time was decent due to a musician on the patio. But the service is severely lacking, even when they weren't busy the second time. Our server never came back to ask how our meal was but I did inform the host when he came by to pick up the dirty dishes that had been sitting in front of us for 15 minutes. He was very gracious but it was a little late. The food leaves a lot to be desired. Apps like flatbread (try the Buffalo Chicken) are good but the entrees need work. My salmon was fishy and the mashed potatoes were hard. And the cheese on the hamburger wasn't even melted (like a fish sandwich at McDonald's). Drinks and apps by the fire are nice but don't expect a great meal.

First time here and I am impressed. The service, food , and coffee are great. The theme of citrus and healthy food is brought forward in the menu with traditional and healthy alternatives.

The drink menu Forgot to take a pic of the garden to glass but that's the strawberry drink - one of their most popular

Located within the Renascence Club Sport hotel in Aliso Viejo Open area - liked the atmosphere Choose the strawberry drink which was light and refreshing And then tried the lavender drink which came in a tall glass and was a very light lavender with edible flowers - I didn't try them The drink was smooth and slightly sweet Very tasty I'd go back for sure

Update: The hotel general manager Heather contacted me to further discuss our experience and she mentioned that she will discuss with the Director of Food & Beverage to improve their service quality and service wait times. I really appreciate for the reach out and their willingness to improve because we would like to come back here. 1) Food - we ate breakfast and evening snack here. Breakfast - Carnitas Benedicts were really good. The salsas in the egg Benedict is spicy. Two farm fresh eggs were terrible. I ordered my hash brown and bacon to be extra crispy and they just gave me regular. So I asked them to fix them up. When they came back, hash brown was still soft and only crispy and burnt on the outside. And the bacon came back as Jerky!! Not crispy but chewy, hard and burnt Jerky! I was surprised that this is the restaurant inside the 4-star hotel and they can't even make the classic breakfast right. Very disappointed with the breakfast. Evening snack - chips and guacamole was ok. We asked for more lime slices to add more lime juice into guacamole. The burger flatbread was amazing - it's a 5-star!! The sauce, the meat and the cheese!!! If you like your flatbread crispy like me, make sure you order them to be crispy coz their flatbreads come soft. 2) Service - we had our breakfast on Friday 10/21/22. The morning service was terrible. There were only 5-6 tables and not busy. But we ordered ours at 10:15 am and we got the food at 11:15 am. Luckily, we were on our easy chillax vacation and no need to be at anywhere. Our male server also forgot a lot of things. We ordered a coffee and an orange juice to start off with and didn't order any food. He came back with the orange juice and forgot the coffee . Then when ordered food, I requested my hash brown and bacon to be crispy and he forgot about that too. And he totally forgot about our toasts. But he is nice all along. Our evening snack service on Thursday 10/20/22 was excellent. Everything came out as requested - flatbreads were really crispy and they taste so amazing!! But the wait on the food that evening was also long and it was only 3 tables. 3) Environment - oh the outdoor environment is just perfect! Especially for the evening, we sat outside and they turned on all the gas fireplaces which was romantic and kept us warm. The music was just right for the vibe too. Indoor tables are sticky and there are crumbs all over the chairs in the morning. They don't clean them at all. There was no music in the morning. Overall, I recommend this place for the dinner. But the wait for the food is quite long so if you were in a hurry, you may want to think twice.

$10 more for an adult to order off the kid's menu?!?? Isn't that age discrimination?
    Mary M.

So we excitedly tried this place for the first time as we are new members to the renaissance club and made sure to get the upgraded gold membership so that we can get the added perks like dining discounts at the restaurant. So the food was pretty good. Lots of healthy options....the downside of this place is the service. I literally had to get up and get my own iced tea refill after being ignored when I asked for a refill. Not sure if the staff being assigned too many tables, but our waitress, Haley, was MIA most of our dinner. Probably won't be back again and I may end up downgrading my membership. And as a side note, how is it legal to charge $10 extra for adults ordering off the kids menu? Isn't that age discrimination?

It's expensive and the patio is super loud because of all the kids. The "happy hour" was only for beer and basic well drinks.

They have tons of parking in this shopping center. They share it with TONS of other places. One of my BFFs saw this on an Instagram video and wanted to check it out. *They do take reservations When we came in we checked in with one of the waitresses. She said she would seat us in a minute. To be honest, she did forget about us. A waiter walked up to us and asked us what was going on (we were standing there for around 7 - 10 minutes) and we told him we had a reservation for the speakeasy. He immediately apologized and sat us. This camp themed speakeasy has a couple booths. It's on the smaller sides. Which, speakeasy's are usually small to begin with. I did not get the waitresses name, my friend and I were busy catching up. The waitress was nice, but not attentive. I will say service was a 2/5. However, the actual restaurant, cozy pine is located in, was packed because of the World Cup being on TV. So I definitely was not going to complain The food Our food order did come out extremely FAST. Faster than our drink orders. -the campfire guacamole -BBQ shoestring fries (had bbq seasoning all over them so it tasted like a BBQ potato chip) -Glamping plate (charcuterie board) -steak tacos (one without onion and cilantro -churro affogato Again, the food was VERY fast!! And to be honest it wasn't that bad. I'll say, speakeasy's usually shine in the drink department vs food. Drinks -Lycheed and Loaded Ketel One, lychee liqueur, lemon, elderflower. This was extremely delicious! If you don't like to taste your alcohol? Go with this. It was really refreshing. Hand this to me at a spa and I'd be the happiest gal in the world -Camp Anawanna $17 Graham cracker-infused bourbon, licor 43, chocolate, torched marshmallow (the waitress catches the marshmallow on fire at the table) This one was stronger and I didn't think it was overly sweet despite the ingredients I think they had a good selection, especially for a small speakeasy. I have been to better, so I don't think I'd return. Especially since the service was not that great. We still had a good time and recommend for every speakeasy lovers list.

We sat at the bar inside for the restaurant but there was a smaller enclosed area which was the speakeasy. My coworker ordered a margarita from the bar. It was mainly ice and the alcohol content was lacking in his opinion. Once there was a table available we were brought inside a cabin themed area. We ordered from the menu: Bug Juice, Devils Postpile and non alcoholic Black Cherry Bomb. The wait for the drinks was around 15-20mins and were prepared by what we believed was the same bar for the restaurant outside. The only difference was the drinks were made themed for the speakeasy. Overall the service was ok. The drinks and dessert were average. My coworkers did feel that their drinks were more on the sweeter side than just tasting much of the alcohol. A cute concept idea but did feel like the overall experience was alittle lacking with food and drinks. Parking wasn't a problem it's in a plaza with other restaurants and shops.

From start to finish, the dining was excellent. I had the Pearodox cocktail which was delicious. We ordered the Baked Boursin cheese dip as our appetizer, which we couldn't get enough of. But these tacos were better than good, they were packed with flavor from the corn tortilla to the well-seasoned chicken and melted cheese. I played basketball about 8 years ago here with a buddy who had a membership. Unfortunately, I was too banged up to exercise. Such is the fun of getting younger. Guest rooms are contemporary design with a lean into modern. The Kevin Murphy bath products are exceptional. There is a desk space, coffeemaker and we had a pool view. The bed was MEDIUM firmness level and had 4 pillows that were fairly supportive. We had the two queen's room. It was very quiet. STAFF are polite and helpful. The garage is pretty huge and long. It did not read easily upon entry as I didn't know if they meant "hotel guests park on level 2 and above" or "above ground level". The garage elevator is also confusing. Normally B1 and B2 would be fully underground. Use a "G" for ground floor next time. The $35.00 for parking is hefty for the Aliso Viejo area but the location is isolated amongst corporate buildings, so they have you stuck with it. Grab-and-go food looked pretty good at the coffee bar. Starbucks is okay, but Philz and Peets are better.

They also have two Jacuzzi one for kids and one for adults. They do have a restaurant called citrus Grill, which you do need to order but then you can bring it out to the pool deck and eat. We did order from there and the food was great. The food price is high, but that's just typical of any hotel and you're really paying for convenience. But the food was delicious. I would say the amenities of this place is amazing because they also have an amazing gym which unfortunately I was not able to use since I was doing a staycation with my seven year-old. They do have a kids club, but you have to pay $40 for an hour. My son really didn't wanna do it so I skipped the gym this time. But definitely next time I wanna check out the gym because it looks amazing with so many different classes and just really nice facility. The nice thing also is that you can use the amenities once you check out and then they have locker rooms or we can take showers and get dressed and then head home! We got a two queen bed, hotel room, and it was very nicely designed, very clean, and very comfortable beds. The only odd thing is that the shower is a standup shower and there's no door so just be prepared for that They have a Starbucks, a full bar and a restaurant on property. Also what I love about this location is there is a huge shopping center nearby which also includes a bowling alley. So we spent the day at the pools and then the afternoon we went bowling! It was a great time. Now is it worth $450 for one night? I would say it seems pretty standard for this area and summertime and all the amenities that's included. Would I stay here again? Oh for sure. My son was so entertained and he was so happy!
