Couple things. The burgers on the menu are pretty tasty. My favorite would have to be the fried onion burger. Also should mention that the homemade chips that they give you are phenomenal. The Chicago-style Beef sandwich tasted pretty similar to what you would actually get in Chicago, but I think the sizing and portions are not so good. I ordered a half sandwich and was underwhelmed when it came out and was the size of a half of a hot dog. Good potential. Caesar Salad wrap also had great potential. I ordered it with chicken but the kitchen did not add any chicken. I understand I could've asked for them to add it but I was on my lunch break and didn't want to waste any more time. It's a great restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating which makes it great for beautiful CA weather! Megan and Jake are awesome bartenders! They're both super friendly, attentive, and always make sure you're taken care of. I'm also loving the remodel from the previous place. It looks so much cleaner, brighter, and more inviting. Andy, the owner manager, has been really welcoming every time I've been in. You can tell he genuinely cares about the customers and making the place a fun and comfortable spot to hang out. I mentioned to him once that they should get Skrewball, and he actually got it in right away, which I thought was really cool and shows that he listens to his customers. I'm loving the DJ on Sundays and the live bands on the weekends. The atmosphere has been great, and the prices are still really reasonable too! My friend and I stopped here after having to pivot from original plans, and I was really surprised and impressed. We sat at a high top; there were clearly mostly regulars there from the previous establishment, yet the bartender was very friendly and attentive. She was there immediately when our drinks were low to see if we wanted another round and also arrived quickly after providing menus to see if we were ready to order food. The beef and cheddar sandwich and garlic fries were both great. I see another review from actually the same day, and I don't know what beef he had, but it definitely wasn't my experience! I really appreciated that you could order a half sandwich of the beef and cheddar. It was still more than enough. Mac's reminds me of places I used to go in younger days. We stopped by at a tesla supercharger Nextdoor and decided to try this place. They made a boo boo with the wings but to my suprise the waiter and manager was quick to correct the issue. Exceptional service. The wings were very good. The lemon pepper was super crispy and the bbq chickens wings were soo good!! Mac and cheese also smelled milky and soo good. Couple of things: 1. Food is not good. Beef on Weck tasteless with bad bread that crumbles. Wings were salty and dead average. They must dial in food or they will close fast. 2. Service is wonky. No hostess so you walk in and sit down with no menus for a while. They seem understaffed too with waitresses as takes a while to get service. 3. They must get more TVs as if this is going to be viable place for NFL ticket they need to show all games all over the venue. For watching live music, it's probably fine. We went out with some friends and decided to check out the new local spot, Mac's Tavern. The food was great, and we had such a fun time watching the live music. Our bartenders, Megan and Fendi, were friendly, attentive, and really knew how to work a busy bar. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we came back Saturday night. Megan wasn't there, but Fendi remembered us and even remembered what we had been drinking the night before! It's refreshing to receive such genuine, personalized service these days. Stopped by during their soft opening and had a great experience! The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. Okay everyone, this place just opened up and it's on a soft opening schedule. There's no sign out front, and it looked like it was closed. But trust me it is open and you should try it out. We talked to one of the managing partners and he said it's on a soft opening. They'll have the sign up soon and they're just working out all the bugs. They have a very tight menu and their specialty is going to be roast beef. The fellow told me that they're cooking their beef all day long and then they're slicing it up for various types of sandwiches. On this evening we went with the buffalo chicken tenders with housemaid chips which were excellent as well as the wedge salad with Gorgonzola cheese. They have tons of TVs. As you may recall, this used to be the old Costello's which was a kind of a s*** show, but this place has been cleaned up new floors. It's tidy. It's not sticky like the old place. They're going to start having bands on the weekends and as I said the menu is tight and it looks pretty darn good. There are not a lot of good sports bars in this part of Orange County, so we're very happy and we're going to be coming back quite a bit. Please give them a try! read more

Great ambiance and Fried Onion Hamburger was excellent too! They are looking to have live music too! Colleen was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our lunch. We have tried this place three times the food is average and the service is fair. However they have not been open that long so it will hopefully get better with time. Mission Viejo needs more pubs like this so hopefully in the future we will try it one more time. I do hope they stay in business though. read more

We had a large group to watch the USA soccer game: The Pizza was good, the drinks were good. But the sound system coming from the many TV's really sucks for a sports bar. Going to Mac's Tavern will be awesome for listening to bands, but not a good place for watching sports. And it was not the people in the bar, it was their speakers were horrible. (not clear at all) many people that were there agreed. Yes i would go back to experience the bands, but not for sports. By the way the bartenders were very nice and they worked hard. I have had such great times at Mac's. They hired an amazing staff: professional, attentive and always service with a smile. I watched my Cape Verde team's World Cup there, and everyone was so supportive. They have a great selection of wine (I was pleasantly surprised) and a full bar (something for everyone).
