HARPREET My sister took their 1 year old golden retriever here on April 11, 2017 to get spayed. Dr. Harpreet Chahal called her fiancé during the operation while our dog was already put under, cut opened, and proceeded to tell him she is pregnant with 5 puppies. We were beyond baffled by this news considering she was in heat 2 months prior, and is an INSIDE DOG. It seemed IMPOSSIBLE that this was the case which they expressed to her. She did not give them this news as an opinion, rather a firm hardcore fact that she was definitely pregnant and was quick to shoot down anything we suggested as a possibility instead. She could not give us a clear explanation as to how this was possible, and just told us there were 5 sacs which appeared to be 2-3 weeks gestation. And proceeded to send pictures of these 5 sacs while her dog was open and unconscious. After being close to 7 1/2 weeks pregnant my sister took her in due to her showing no signs of pregnancy, Dr. Chahal did a X-ray which showed Maggie was in fact NOT PREGNANT! We are beyond livid with this misdiagnosis, ESPECIALLY after the fact that we questioned it SO much when she told us she was pregnant. We feel Dr. Chahal was extremely negligent and as a result our poor Maggie will have to undergo yet another operation to be spayed. We believe this is total malpractice. When her fiancé spoke with Dr. Chahal on May 9, 2017, she admitted no wrong doing and could not understand why we were so upset. She showed absolutely zero remorse. In fact, she was quite rude. In this situation, we feel she should be doing everything in her power to make this right, although she really can't make it right. This not only caused her and her fiancé so much stress ( they are getting married in June in Hawaii and had looked into hiring a dog sitter to stay with Maggie and the 3 week old puppies) but this was not fun for Maggie...She has been suffering from an ear infection which She was unable to give her the proper medicine to fix because of this "pregnancy". And let's face it, those cones suck and it's never fun getting cut open unnecessarily. Now she will have to go through this all over again. They requested a refund of the prior spay of $475 as well as the $275 charge that we got for the X-ray which was solely to verify to us Maggie's pregnancy and her response was "That's not going to happen." She did say that "as a customer point of view" she would redo the spay at no cost, but I think as most people would agree we won't be having Dr. Chahal touch our poor dog EVER again. We recorded the conversation between her and my sisters fiancé and will be sending letters of complaints to the BBB and California Veterinary Medical Board to investigate the wrong doing of this veterinary. It's unbelievable that a licensed Vet could misdiagnose a dogs pregnancy especially when we questioned this so much about the timing, and to have no remorse about it... not one apology came out of her mouth, no sympathy whatsoever. The practice has always had very nice staff from Dr Nagal to Dr. Chahal. We recently were faced with putting our dog Thunder down. We didn't want to perform the service in the hospital and preferred to have it down at home. Unfortunately our planned service wasn't available at the time and Dr. Chahal adjusted her schedule that day and agreed to make a house call to help her pass peacefully. Thunder's condition grew significantly worse as the day progressed and it was clear we could not wait till late in the day. We called to simply see if there was something we could give for pain and Dr Chahal again rescheduled patients to come over immediately. I can't emphasize enough how much that meant to our family. She was very compassionate and helped us say goodbye in the home Thunder loved. Dr. Chahal went out of her way to help us that day and we won't forget that. read more

My dog Halo jumped off of my bed on Thanksgiving day and injured her leg. She couldn't walk on it and was obviously in a lot of pain. My vet was closed until the following Monday and a friend of mine recommended I call her vet - Dublin Veterinary Hospital. Not only were they able to get me in the Friday after Thanksgiving, they had all kinds of different available appointment times. The staff and doctor were all very, very kind. I'm seriously thinking of switching to them. I live in San Leandro, and it's a bit of a drive to Dublin compared to Castro Valley (where my vet is) but it's so worth the extra gas! read more

I had a great experience at Dublin Veterinary Hospital. I brought in my senior cat due to a persistent cough, and the care we received was outstanding. The clinic was very clean, and the staff were friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Monday, Oct 11th I cld and stopped by to pick up the Flea & Tick Meds (Bravecto Chews) for my Maltipoo. That night we proceeded to give her the meds when my husband noticed the the item was quite larger than what we normally give her. I looked at the box and it was for a dog that weighted 9.9-22 lbs. I cld the next day and told the the office we got the wrong meds. Went by and spoke to Harrison. He apologized and gave me the corrected med Bravecto Chews 4.4-9.9lbs. The entire staff to include Megan, Harrison, Libby, and Breanna are absolute All-Stars. They have the ability to take care of Koozie (AKA Daddy's Little Monster) while she is in boarding, and although Koozie is a very spicy one, they go out of their way to provide compassion, care, and love to her to make her comfortable while she is ornery. My Westie dog has been receiving excellent care for over nine years at Dublin Veterinary Hospital with Dr. Chahal. He has allergies that are totally under control based on the recommended treatment. Recently he has been dealing with bad breath. I did not want to have him put under anesthesia for a teeth cleaning but did so, he needed five teeth extracted, "ouch", and came through beautifully with the care of the vet and her team. I have never been to a facility the employees so rude. Even with a single question asked, a smirky attitude response was given. Also, for a business who is suppose to take care of pets to deny my dog flea medicine after being prescribed to it for 2 1/2 years now is outrageous. My cat Xenotti has been going to Dublin Veterinary Hospital since he was a week old and they have always taken care of him. He gets amazing care, they are affordable and they are honest with what pets need. The staff is respectful and always joyous. I lived in San Ramon when I rescued my cat but we've moved back to Oakland a couple of years ago. I still drive to Dublin because they have some of the best care and he's comfortable with them. 10/10, would recommend. read more
