I can't say enough good things about Dr .G office and the entire staff. From the moment you walk in, you're treated with genuine kindness, patience, and care. The staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and truly loves what they do. They treat you like family honestly. Josh is just so so amazing. Our little Shitzu ( Bubba ) has been having so many issues lately and they all take care of bubba as it's there own. Dr. g and everyone else takes the time to listen, explain everything clearly, and make sure both pets and pet parents feel comfortable and reassured. They never rush appointments and always go above and beyond to provide the best care possible. It's so comforting to know your pet is in hands that are not only professional but also deeply compassionate. If you're looking for a vet who treats your pet like family, this is absolutely the place. I'm beyond grateful for the care, dedication, and heart this team brings every single day. Highly recommend! Bubba! Woof woof !

Had a great experience here! They were so calm and patient with my cat! My cat had an open wound and they did the surgery right away! My cat felt their calmness and didn't even fight them :)

Dr. G and his staff have been absolutely wonderful with my Violet and me. She is truly my best friend and I have such a deep love for her. The staff at SRVH has been very much appreciated for their patience and their compassion toward all of their furry patients and their paw parents. Thank you for caring for my pup as if she were your own.

This is a sad review for me because I had to say goodbye this week to my best friend and dog-son Wishbone. Wishbone has been going here since we've adopted him when he was a 1 year old pup. I didn't realize that most of the staff has watched him go from a young dog to an old dog. So when he got sick, one of the tech's told me not only did it affect my family, it affected the staff as well. Over the years, we have taken Wishbone in for either routine work or to have him checked out and bounce back. We had one situation where an ER Vet Hospital misdiagnosed him at 10 years old, but we got a second opinion from Dr. G and confirmed a benign mass instead. On this visit, things weren't the routine which resulted in my dog being monitored for three days with IV treatments and (2) X-rays, and he would go home with us and back in the next morning. I'm not going to lie, this visit wasn't cheap, especially if you don't have pet insurance. My dog was 15 years old - he had a great life and he will always hold a special place in my heart. However, when it came to decide what was best for him, we were able to discuss it with Dr. G and his staff and make an informed, but difficult decision. It was comforting knowing we were able to spend as much time as we needed with Wishbone until it was time for us to go. We were not rushed out. In fact, our daughter was able to face time her dog-brother so she spend a few minutes with him. As difficult as it is to write this review, I just wanted to let you know that when it's time to say goodbye, they have been very accommodating and thoughtful.

Really wish I didnt feel the need to write an updated review on a place that has treated us well for the last several visits until a recent visit for a dental last week. the next day following the dental, I noticed my dog had bruising on her neck. I know that blood can be drawn from the jugular, but I've never seen bruising like that before and it looked quite big for a dog her size (she is about 8lbs). I took pictures and immediately emailed the photos to the vet and asked for confirmation if blood had been drawn from there just to give me a piece of mind. I received a response the following morning saying it was normal and they would have the doctor review it. but my question was avoided as to whether blood was drawn from there or not. fast forward to the afternoon - no email or call. I decided on calling later in the afternoon and repeated the same information from the email and asked the same question. again, it was not answered and it was just "it's normal. hold on, let me ask." I was really frustrated that a simple question could not be answered and I was not reassured as a concerned pet parent as to why there is bruising on my dog's neck. I even said I could leave work and head over to bring her to get checked since I was worried about the size of the bruise and of a possible clotting issue and I was asked if it could wait until tomorrow. after expressing my frustration, I was told I would receive a call from the doctor by the end of the day with an explanation. to this day, I never received a call from the office. whether or not it was normal, an explanation or reassurance as to WHY it is normal (or even confirmation of location of a blood draw) would have been appreciated. I felt my concerns weren't valid or thoroughly acknowledged and for that reason, I have updated my review.

As soon as i walked in they got my dog assessed and immediately started helping her get the puppy out. Unfortunately that puppy did not make it but they helped us as fast as they could. Then we discussed further treatment to get the other puppy out safely, she was quickly taken back for xrays to determine placement of puppy #2. Almost immediately after bringing her back out puppy #2 popped out. They immediately started attending to the puppy and helped out of its sack and getting him to nurse on mom. I would also like to add that during this whole emergency my two young children were with me and they were given snacks and tended to while i stood by my dog. This was more than i could have even asked for. The entire staff was friendly, informative, compassionate and helped in any was they could. And after all that i was charged a meer $300 and some change. I was terrified i was going to be facing a $6000+ bill and not once during the process did they demand payment, only asking me to approve one estimate which i didnt even end up paying the whole estimate. If we ever have another pet emergency this will be our first stop. And i just want to thank all the staff again for being absolutely amazing to our family and our fur baby!!!

This is the worst vet emergency hospital and I never leave bad reviews…read more Rather than trying to fix, diagnose, or treat your animal to health, they propose euthanasia as the easiest option. This is my second experience where first they wanted to put down my 1 year old kitty who was having urinary problems. I kept asking why they weren't starting him on antibiotics? I asked why are they compounding with stronger pain meds? Obviously his condition is getting worse if you're only treating the symptoms and not the cause. It was almost like they were setting him up for failure (death). They didn't care or listen when I told them I was a Pharmacist and had better recommendations on medication choices. I kept taking him every other day as his condition was worsening and they only kept adding stronger pain meds without identifying and treating the root of the problem. It made my parents sick to hear their suggestion of putting my cat down on the third visit. They didn't have the heart to even tell me that. So, my mom called all of her friends and found a "hero vet" who saved my cat's life. He actually DID start antibiotics and other meds to help with urinary flow and some pain meds to keep him comfortable. He also recommended a wet urinary diet and Calm Probiotics to be mixed in his wet food. We kept him on the meds for a month and he continues to eat his urinary diet. My baby is a healthy 4 year old now. I can't stand the horrific practices at VEG San Ramon. And now just the other day, they put down my friend's cat who was only 6 years old. Again, they couldn't diagnose or identify the problem so they suggested euthanasia. I feel there's a huge conflict of interest in their treatment of our sick pets and their push to get mildly sick pets euthanized and then cremated. This is sadly a scam business. I was so happy when they first opened because I felt a sense of relief having a 24/7 emergency vet nearby. Little did I know their ruthless practices would bring so much pain to pets and their parents. Please don't trust them with the health and wellbeing of your fur babies.

Gateway Pet Hospital - Jazz's "new" teeth!

    Gateway Pet Hospital

    (95 reviews)

This review is coming from a Gateway patient Nobu, not fur parents…read more Woof neighbors, this is my first time leaving a review of my experience with Gateway. Four years ago, my parents shared their experience with Gateway. Four years later, guess what, I am writing this review on my own. Sometimes dogs can do better than humans, such as never arguing with your lady but listening. Based on that life experience, you know that I would only share my honest story of Gateway with you. In the past four years, they did a great job in ensuring my health and taking good care of my mom's banking account. She is not over-stressed whenever we go there. You know, girls can save some extra money to buy new things. Happy mother, happy Woof. A few months ago, my mouth started to smell like farts. That derailed our relationship a little bit. One day my mother told me that I had bad breath when I kissed her. Although she didn't refuse my kiss, on her face, I could tell that I am now a terrible kisser. Finally, a week ago, we went to Gateway for my dental treatment. It took several weeks to complete the treatment. First, I did the blood test, and then the urinal test. After my doc confirmed that I got good results in both tests, I was illegible (safe) to do the dental treatment. Woofs, please allow me to tell you a little bit about my dental issue. I am a foodie and I love all kinds of food, especially chewing hard bones and cheese bars. This hobby is way beyond what my tooth can stand. That is how I got a few broken teeth. In addition, I hate toothbrushes but not toothpaste with bacon flavor. Oh please don't pretend you like toothbrushes. We all know the universal truth, without delicious toothpaste, a toothbrush can never get into our mouth. So while I finished the toothpaste as fast as I could, the toothbrush would never have a chance to get close to my back teeth; however, I paid my costs too. I became a terrible kisser because of my bad teeth and bad breath. For those woofs of the size like me, we all have the risk of getting a gum disease when we reach three or four-year-old. So I don't blame myself for being a foodie. I trust the scientific statistics, having bad teeth is not an individual case, but a genetic weakness, so let's blame our ancients. Having dental treatment is good for us and our relationship with humans. I can't tell you how the experience was during the procedure because I was passed out. After I woke up, I heard that my doctor called my parents and gave them follow-ups and caring guidance afterward. Great job on that, they need the woof education. Honestly, after the dental treatment, I was a little bit afraid of staying in this place. Because they can put me to sleep and get into my mouth without giving me bacon flavored toothpaste. But the staff was so nice and warm to me. They hugged me, kissed me, and kept checking on me. I slowly became more active and felt calm there. My doc told me that I may need at least 6 days to recover. But after three days, I was looking for something terribly hard again. Now, you may have a question, how much does the dental treatment cost with this level of services? My program includes a blood test, a urinal test, a dental calculus clean, 6 teeth removal, and a set of 10 day medication. All in all, it costs my parents $1400. I would say this is a fair price, I can use my insurance to cover 60% of the total price (depending on your insurance, the percentage may vary). I am happy with the dental treatment result. My breath is fresh with Hollywood's whiten-looking teeth. Now my mom enjoys kissing me, but the game has changed. Now the kiss from me won't be free. I set the rule, two kisses with one treat. If she doesn't give it to me, I just walk away. Ok, let's talk about the room for improvement. Well, as we all know that in this crazy era, it is hard to hire employees. The market has a problem that demand of labor is greater than the supply. So does Gateway. Sometimes they could forget to call you back to provide updates. But I understand that. How could one staff do everything? If this is a hard problem for them to solve (budget control), then I would say we as a customer can become more proactive to ask for it. Well, as a local woof, I stand for protecting our local small businesses. From my experience so far, I wish the best for them. I hope you enjoy my story with Gateway. And I will also share with you my future updates. Woof woof!
