Dr. Luu is absolutely wonderful with our cats... truly a cat whisperer. She's one of the very few people they actually let handle them, and it's clear she treats them with such gentle, thoughtful care. She also takes the time to explain everything in a way that's easy for us to understand, which we really appreciate. One thing to keep in mind is that the clinic does get quite busy at times, so occasional follow-ups or callbacks have at times taken a bit longer than expected. We also really wish they had weekend hours or a bit more flexibility in their scheduling, especially since one of our cats has a chronic condition. It would make things easier to manage if we could stick with this team for all their care rather than bouncing between multiple clinics and trying to keep track of records. But the fact that our only frustrations come from wanting more access to their care really says a lot about how much we value and prefer this clinic! That said, we genuinely trust Dr. Luu and highly recommend her... she's been such a calming and expert presence for both our cats. read more

Dumpling is a five year old frenchie and poodle mix and she twisted her nail at the park on our way home. Went to parkway vet and saw Dr. Tanner there, we had a very bad experience with her. Dumpling was shaking and scared because her nail spot was tender, Dr. tanner took this as offense to herself, and ordered us to put on the muzzle for dumpling or otherwise she won't be able to see dumpling, which was fine. But when dumpling barked when she touched her tender spot, Dr. Tanner got even more upset and made it such a big deal that unless we give dumpling enough sedative she won't continue the treatment for the next time. On the next visit, my mom took dumpling to the vet and having already taken two gabapentin capsules the doctor ordered, dumpling was very calm. Right when we got there, the technician that never met dumpling had a very mean attitude telling us we still didn't give dumpling enough sedatives when dumpling was completely calm, we realized Dr. Tanner had been giving the technician instructions prior to our arrival that made the whole team act hostile towards dumpling. Mom saw the situation getting worse and asked if they are able to be nice and take care of dumpling, the technician told us to go outside, which at the time it was over 90 degrees weather. We left in a very devastating mood because dumpling not only got startled but also took the sedatives and was still treated like a stray dog that they can just manhandle at anytime. We transferred her records to another vet hospital and got a completely different treatment outcome and service there. This goes to show how at Parkway vet, the care for animal was not the priority but the Doctor was. Very disappointing and I need to let every dog parent know for the sake of your puppy's wellbeing do not go to this vet hospital or this Doctor. read more

I would love to say my experience has been great with this place but it has not. My cat started to deteriorate in the worst way possible a few weeks after getting her shots done here. She had to be put under anaesthesia for this because she was a spicy cat (something I felt hesitant about anyway). I didn't like the fact that when she started having these symptoms (vomiting and food rejection) , they said they needed to put her under anaesthesia. The first day they tried, they couldn't do it and just left her in carrier the WHOLE day instead of calling me to just come get her and try tomorrow. She struggled with eating afterwards and I was given a prescription food to try. She ate it and the very next day had a violent episode of diarrhea and vomiting foam. She refused to eat,drink, and move for two days until we took her to the emergency vet. They were so helpful and kind at VEG, never made me feel rushed or treated my cat like an inconvenience. VEG gave her a steroid shot and anti nausea. She instantly made a turn around and ate voraciously and drank water. After two weeks she seemed stable and was gaining weight but it all fell apart. After losing her appetite again I took her to the vet who was hesitant to give her the shots that saved her life at VEG. I asked if I should give her Gabapentin but was advised not to because of her fragile state and to just bring her in. When I brought her, the vet just snatched her from me and brought her to the back to give the shots. My cat let out a painful scream. These mfers handed her back to me covered in her own PISS. They treated her like shit. I was in shock. To add to that, there was no change in her like at VEG where I actually saw them administer the shots. When I called to confirm they did so, I spoke with Dr. Lu. I had never met with her nor spoken with her before and she had the audacity to criticize me in a condescending way for not giving gabapentin before the visit. Im not sure if she was just hard of hearing or dumb, but I had to explain to this "doctor" that I was advised by the OTHER doctor to not give gabapentin due to her unstable state. The vet who treated my cat called me to confirm she gave the shot. She called my cat difficult and I was trying to tell her my concern she rushed me off the phone and never called back. Well guess what? My cat is dead now. You handed my beautiful cat to me covered in piss and traumatized even more. All of you should be ashamed of yourselves and just admit that you're more suited to treat dogs. You lack empathy and patience. Don't even get me started on that old front desk lady with the straw hair, Vicky. She was dry as tree bark and unnecessarily rude. I hope the experience I had here had nothing to do with the color of my skin. I highly advise that if you own a cat, just take it to a cat specialist. I could cry tears of joy that I found this clinic. I am new to the area and tried a local clinic with such a bad experience. I spent hundreds of dollars just to be told to go to a specialist - I felt thrown away and disregarded. Luckily I found Parkway vet. The front desk staff is phenomenal - after being to the other clinic where they don't even show any interest in you or your pet I was shocked how friendly and welcoming they were here. We've been taking our 2 dogs here since we moved to the east bay a few years ago and there have definitely been other occasions where I wanted to switch vet offices but today was the final straw. TLDR: Had an appointment for a cytopoint injection for one of our senior dogs who's been biting himself raw. The morning of, the vet's office called to say they needed to reschedule because vet techs didn't show up. Rescheduled to today (1 day later) and my husband arrives with our dog but is told they don't have anymore cytopoint and weren't sure when it would be back in stock... Not sure how they didn't have the foresight that inventory was low before we showed up for our rescheduled appointment. Highly doubt they JUST ran out before we got there but if that's the case maybe keep cytopoint on reserve for customers with appointments for it if it's such a hot commodity? Especially infuriating since they had to reschedule our appointment and push it out a day and still didn't realize they wouldn't have inventory for us. Does no one review upcoming appointments and what's needed for them beforehand like at the start of the day or end of the previous day?! read more

I booked an appointment with Dr. Tanner out of a positive referral from a friend. I am sad to say that my experience was cold, unprofessional, and condescending. My visit kicked off 25 minutes late, which would have been understandable considering how busy the office was; however, Dr. Tanner arrived dismissive and curt throughout the majority of visit. Instead of discussing my dog's care openly, she was critical about us not following her version of a bland diet (which up until then, I was not aware of). Other vet offices have recommended a combination of rice, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, and ground beef to help with episodes of my dog's diarrhea, which had been successful in the past but not this time. Dr Tanner abruptly stated that sweet potatoes are a laxative, implying that I should have known better; although I would never have done so if I did know. She then went on a tangent about how, while some things are common sense, other patients lack it, such as how one of her clients had fed their dog uncooked rice. While I understand the emphasis, I felt uncomfortable about her speaking so negatively and openly about other owners. She then mentioned that we should have used chicken, despite my dog having a chicken allergy as diagnosed by a reputable vet dermatologist. She was skeptical about this; I tried walking her through how we went about the food trials with various vets to rule out chicken but in spite of all this, she insisted we must have all jumped to the wrong conclusion. When I offered my dog's records for her to double check, she declined, stating she wasn't interested in looking through them. This was especially concerning, as I was under the impression that good medical practice entailed at least skimming past medical records. I suppose to her, this is not a necessity despite it being related to my dog's current care and treatment. At minimum, I was uneasy and left with a feeling that she could be dogmatic yet careless when under pressure. Near the end of the visit, her technician interrupted about another patient; while she provided closing remarks and a medication, we were eventually rushed out to make space for another patient. I never got to ask how to use said medication or when my dog would improve, but I was lucky to be able to chat with one of her tech's after. If I could give zero stars I would, but I'll add an extra star as she managed to squeeze a prescription in last minute. TLDR: Dr. Tanner was curt and dismissive from start to finish. I understand that the office can get busy, but it's a shame that manifested into an entirely unprofessional visit. I only hope she does better by her patients in the future. read more

I've been taking my dog to Parkway for over 5 years. Dr. Tanner is an excellent vet and her staff are sharp and organized. I've been to a dozen Bay area vets and only Parkway meets my high standards. Dr. Tanner is calm, friendly, very methodical and a great problem solver. I ask complicated questions and I get well informed answers. She will even call you at night or on the weekend to give you blood test results, or to check on how your dog is doing. All my neighbors take their dogs to Parkway as well, the word is out! Do NOT recommend. The veterinarians main focus here is to make as much as they can for every visit. Bedside manner is horrible (Dr Tanner and Asian Doctor). They make you feel bad for not wanting to move forward with all their recommendations which usually exceeds $1000. I've changed vets within this hospital and they all operate the same. Main goal is to upcharge you for services not required and hustle you into paying more, even when not necessary. Tanner is very condescending in her tone and their best interests are not the well being of your pet, rather how much they can squeeze out of you. I got an email asking me to review this vet since I took my dog there. Overall it was easy to make an appt. I will say it's getting frustrating that vets are still doing curbside. If kids can be maskless in school then there's no reason that we can't have in-person (masked) visits. It's hard to know what exactly is going on when your pet is having an exam when you're not there. Is the doctor truly seeing them? Or is a vet tech doing an exam & the doctor is signing off on that? A lot of trust is expected of us from a doctor we've never even met face to face. I get that in the height of covid that was necessary. But that's not where we are anymore. I have no issue w/limiting the # of people who are in the room w/a pet. I have absolutely no problem w/being masked regardless of vaccination status. I encourage it. But being curbside when every other industry is back to normal seems ridiculous. It feels more like a way to keep us out vs covid precautions. I only had one visit. It was fine. I appreciate being able to book an appt easily. read more

As much as I used to LOVE this place, I do want to recommend you get a second opinion if you're a new pet owner. I rescued my pup in 2018 and have been bringing him here since. Hes always had these benign masses and we were told by his vet that they were benign and not some thing to worry about. Even during one of his teeth cleanings the idea of removing them came up but we collectively decided it was alright to keep them bc as we were told, they were benign. This past Friday one of the tail masses popped and as a result they're recommending we chop off his tail. Had we known this was even a remote possibility, we would have scheduled a removal ASAP. they're nice doctors and staff, but make sure to get a second opinion. read more

I really liked the vet here but my experiences with the front desk staff completely ruined my experience to the point that I cannot recommend anyone to go here. As many have mentioned, the staff answering the phones are often rude which I have already provided feedback on in response to a survey from their office. In February 2022 we had to make the difficult decision to euthanize our dog due to kidney failure. We decided to have it done here since this was his vet and they advised they would let us know when his remains would be ready for us to pick up. I received a call from them 30 minutes before the office closed advising that his ashes were ready for me to pick up. I asked if it was ok for me to still come that day because I'd be arriving 15 minutes before closing and she said yes. At this point I immediately got in my car and arrived 15 minutes before closing and called them letting them know I was outside (their lobby was still closed due to COVID). The call went straight to voicemail saying their office was closed even though there was still 15 minutes before actual closing time. I continued to call but the calls were just going to voicemail. I got out of my car and tried knocking on the front office door and ringing the bell, but no response. I sat outside at this point crying and saw a vet tech come out the back door. I asked if I could just please have my dog's ashes and she said that she had to run but someone would be out to help me soon because she heard me ring the bell. No one from the front came out. I had to wait another 10 minutes until another vet tech came out the back door with someone's dog. After she was done helping out the other customer, I explained I am here for my dog's ashes and pleaded with her to please help me so I can leave. She was kind enough to go inside and grab his ashes for me so I could be on my way. Losing my dog was very challenging for me and I was still in the middle of my grief when all this occurred. If the office was planning on turning off their phones/closing office early that day they shouldn't have told me to come by, I would have just waited until the following day. After this experience I no longer plan on taking any future pets to this office and don't recommend anyone else to either. read more

Overall, unimpressed with lack of customer service provided. Pandemic conditions aside, methods and practices need serious improvement and to the detriment of my dog's health. Brought my shelter rescue dog for a visit, who suffers from either spay incontinence or a urinary tract infection. The Vet and team took her in and ran tests quickly enough on a Thursday 8:30am appointment. However this is when things unraveled rather quickly. Next day, Friday, I called in learning the office has a low level phone system yielding a busy signal the majority of the time. Finally getting through, receptionist says they received the urine test result and I'd get a call back from the doctor that day. No call comes AT ALL. Saturday I called in and learned they are closed. Fast forward to Monday, receive my call from the doctor confirming a medium level UTI requiring stronger antibiotics. Knowing AND processing this information on Friday would have been more advantageous to the dog's health. Letting 3 days lapse with a known cure is unacceptable to me. I mean, we visited for this ultimate purpose. Back to the busy signals. I arrive at the facility and received about 30 minutes of busy tone. I ask a passing technician for help in the parking lot. They offer no hello, just say you need to keep trying the phone to reach us and keep walking. Finally I got through learning I'd buy some medication. When I ask for instructions, tech says the instructions are on the bottle. Arriving home, I examined the bottle and learned there is a miscount of doses, short of the prescribed number. More busy signals when I called back. Also, I had to inquire do I give the medication dose all in one feeding or split up the dose through out the day since you say it could cause nausea and vomiting. I was instructed all at once like I should have known. Perhaps I -should- have googled this instead of asking the vet that I paid. Sorry for the long rant, but from a communications and medical position this is not a place I will be returning to for help. read more

To my big surprise, the vet (Dr. Chan) did not even look at the dog or check the skin. Instead, she spoke super fast and upsell dental service for thousands of dollars. We decided to seek a second opinion from one of the "bulldog specialists" aka Dr. Chuck Wraith at this wonderful veterinary establishment in Dublin. Dr. Wraith spent a good half hour answering ALL of our questions, making suggestions, and explaining to us Yoshi's condition. Extremely knowledge, personable, and customer-service oriented . . . how can you NOT like this place?! The receptionists were warm and friendly . . . did not waste our time at all. I value efficiency. Our visit was $49. Affordable, too. If you own a bulldog, I HIGHLY recommend making the trek here. It doesn't get better than this. read more

There are simply not enough stars for how I and my dog Prada feel about dr Wraith. We have lived in many cities and states-- met many vets- some good- some ok- some money hungry- some rushed- some who cared- some who didn't- But out of all vets- this man is something special. Above even the "good and caring" ones prior. My bichon has a history with bladder stones--- we have now had 3 surgeries to remove the stones, the last being here at Parkway. We have been misled- and quite frankly, before I don't think the previous vets took the time to get down to the root of the problem. We were sold special dog food previously, told we needed surgery, more water, no human scraps, less treats. Blah blah. We did it. We were told the problem would be taken care of after coughing out over a grand in surgery etc... Well a year later she was sick again and developed stones. Other vets simply didn't take the time. They looked for the quick fix and a quick shot of antibiotics all for it to develop again.... Dr wraith? However... This guy cares. Not just about results and being good at his profession- but I also feel like he has a great understanding of my dogs personality- and he seems to really care about her. He is honest. He takes his time explaining and answering all questions (even the silly ones)... He leaves lengthy phone messages to explain and follow up-- he gets ahold of you in record time... He was honest about cost and even gave me an option if I was looking to save and his opinion.... He is honest, caring, personable, real and the only vet that has really thought to set up a solution for my poor girl. We are now being proactive and preventable --- as opposed to careless and money hungry. In a world of hit or miss vets-- he is warm and really thorough. His office staff is friendly. Sweet girls with kind hearts. All willing to answer any questions without hesitation- they really make an out of stater feel right at home. These are good people. We are sad to be moving. But that's just my fiances profession we hop around..... We would take dr wraith and his staff with us- if we could. They sent me a vaccine reminder through email. I made an appointment with them to do the vaccines for my dog. After I checked in, the doctor checked my dog's temperature, teeth and ears ( took her less than 2 minutes). I thought it's just regular routine before the vaccines. But when I received invoice its $114 for 2 vaccines? I was shocked, then I looked carefully, there was a $58 physical exam and consultation charge which I didn't ask for and I was not informed before they did it. $28 per vaccine is already above the average price (average is $15-20). Now I have to pay $58 for something I didn't ask for. My dog is in a very good condition, why would I want a physical exam and consultation? All I wanted were just vaccines. read more

My experience with Parkway Vet goes back some 20 years with our Chocolate Lab (who had knee surgery at 4 years old and was put down here at 17 years). Then our Terrier mix (with chronic ear infections). Then my girlfriend's mini Dachshund. Their care is the best. Dr. Wraith is my favorite but I have received outstanding care from all their staff. Their receptionists truly do enjoy all the dogs and cats that come in there - always ready to hand out treats to calm our furry family. Today we took our Dachshund to them for the last time as he passed away the day before. They treated us with kindness and respect. A technician came out to the car to receive the body. We were all choked up and the technician nearly cried too. Birth and death, the cycle of life. They see it all. When facing choices on treatments, Dr. Wraith lays out all the options, and what makes sense and reasonable costs. With some medications like flea pills, he tests on his own dogs before recommending them to his patients. I cannot recommend them more highly. I took my dog a couple of times to this veterinary, last time i had Dr. Tanner, she was super arrogant, rude and looked like she did not want to help us, I took my dog for a check in because he vomited and we did not know why, once we arrived, she was the only available that day, she kept questioning us what our dog has eaten in a very rude way, we told her that he didn't want to eat anything, she kept questioning us what happened to the dog and we replied WE DONT KNOW!! thats why we are here!!! Her attitude was the worst, she treated us bad, she raised her voice, she told us to pick our dog up and put him in the counter, we did not understand the way she wanted our dog to be and she yelled at us stating that she needed to touch his belly, and at last she told us that we need to do a bunch of tests to our dog and it was going to be 1000$. We immediately decided to take our dog to a different clinic, this place has been the worse experience, the receptionist is rude, their staff is rude, only Dr. Chang is polite and nice but she is never available! Do not take your dog to this veterinary! They are pretty expensive and ask you to do unnecessary tests and charge you a lot! I took my dog to a different place, told them what vaccine for the allergy this place recommended and the new vet said "that's the wrong vaccine" that vaccine is for adult dogs. I live in Livermore, but choose to come out to Dublin to Parkway because I love them! I've been going to Parkway for years with all our pets. All the staff members are nice and efficient, and the waiting room and patient rooms are all clean. Dr. Tanner is my vet she she is always incredibly patient and always makes me feel at ease. I have a dog with a lot of food allergies and she worked with me endlessly to find the right fit for him. I feel like I call her way more than the average bear and she is always friendly and patient with me. She also makes a point to call after every appointment and check up to see how my dog is doing. I love this place. My puppy yorkie-Chewy is only 6mos n this is the first place I took him bcuz if the referral from his breeder. The people here are phenomenal, from the assistants to the doctors. They always tell me what to do and what not do for my chewy. And chewy's mom also goes here. And when I pick him up from his Mr apptment, he is such a good boy. So yes, this is the place to go.. This is a very honest and friendly Pet Hospital. We have been coming here for years they saw through the death of our beloved Rottie. We now have two Labs and they have seen us so far from Puppy to young adult. They have spayed both our pups and have kept in contact with us during their recuperation. We get email reminders for boosters they need We trust this Vet office and love the personal care they give to our family. Last time we took our pup there they didn't have a problem coming out to the car to draw blood and cut our dogs nails. We took him there to check if he had a foxtail in his paw and had to medicate him beforehand. The doctor acted in a manner that would make any dog react, when she touched him he flinched so she threw her arms in the air and refused to check his paw or trim his nails. I am disgusted with the service and attitudes of the doctor and the assistant. They care more about money than your animal, I know this from past experiences. Avoid if you want quality care for your animal. read more
