A brief story about a beagle named Buster,…read more He was adopted in New York when he was "four" (read: 10) years old. He was then to be left with his grandparents and uncle who lived nearby due to his owner's recent and unique career obligations. Never had any of these three individuals cared for a dog in their lives. So we looked for nearby vets and found this little pink mess of a building on the Saugus highway. Over the next 5 years, while we had our medical ups and downs, we were always given the best of care by each and every individual at this facility. Every vet and technician we dealt with showed genuine concern, even when we made the same follies most new animal (and human) parents fall into: overreactions, anxieties, and downright fear. Fast forward to the winter of 2020 (amid a pandemic, maybe you heard about it on the news) and Buster came down with serious breathing issues. Despite it being near closing, we were told to bring Buster immediately and our doctor and numerous techs stayed late trying to render a diagnosis. Unfortunately, this was beyond their technological capabilities and we were directed to the Woburn Animal Hospital (another fine facility). Thanks to their lack of ego and abundance of concern we were able to transfer him quickly and determine Buster had a growth in his throat, and was expected to pass that summer. We as a family made peace with this and hoped for the best and prepared for the worst. Thanks to the medical expertise, the care, the concern, and the proper medication prescription of the medical experts at this hospital, Buster lived another 3 healthy and happy years, being recently put down out of mercy (his breathing inevitably got worse, nothing could be done) at the ripe old age of 18. Buster would not have made it that long, as the happy and healthy pup he was without the people working this facility. If that story did nothing for you, allow me to address some of you negative reviewers. An animal hospital in Lynn recently closed. Guess where those tens of thousands of animals need to go? The 3 facilities in a ~10 mile radius. These people are working as hard as they can, trying to satisfy that unprecedented demand, I can assure you. If you take your pet to this facility, they will live longer, they will live better, and they will be happier. Thank you for reading.

Basic labs were drawn, revealing a high T4 level, and so Dr. Alizaine recommended starting methimazole for hyperthyroidism. When I asked about if it could be falsely high because of her illness or if it's possible the sample wasn't handled properly (since warm samples can cause elevated T4 in bloodwork) Dr. Alizaine brushed me off completely. I asked about re-testing when she was less acutely ill and he essentially told me that to wait longer to treat was to want my cat to get sicker and sicker. And so we started treatment. A week later on a Thursday we brought kitty back in because her food intake had gone down (but still eating half her normal) and asked for more bloodwork. He said no, it's the UTI and she got bloodwork last week, sent us home. Saturday morning I wake up and kitty is YELLOW. Rushed her to the emergency vet to find her AST/ALT (liver values) are so high they can't even quantify them. A feeding tube for a month, many tears, antibiotics, and repeated inpatient hospital stays later, I'm out $17,000 and armed with the knowledge that methimazole can cause these liver damage and failure in 1-2% of cats, not that Dr. Alizaine ever mentioned this. I was quiet at this point. Medication adverse effects are a risk we have to take to treat disease. However, the last couple months we have been looking to radioactive iodine therapy for kitty's hyperthyroidism. We took her off the methimazole for labs as instructed and surprise, surprise - two entire months after being off the meds, and kitty's thyroid levels are perfect. The thyroid experts say it was probably a one-off value, maybe a lab error or a swapped sample, but not something we'll ever know. Regardless, kitty does NOT have hyperthyroidism, and good amount of my heartache and pain from last year could have been avoided or improved if Dr. Alizaine had just ordered repeat bloodwork or listened to our concerns before kitty went jaundiced. Overall, Dr. Alizaine genuinely seems to care for your pet and their health. But he does not listen to reasonable requests from the pet parents and bulldozes them into following his treatment plan without making sure it's right. Thankfully I've moved at this point, but it's safe to say I would not recommend Dr. Alizaine as a vet to anyone.

Angela and her staff have been caring for my cats for about nine years now…read more I first got in touch with her when my cat, Gigi, developed kidney disease and needed subcutaneous fluids on a regular basis. As a former vet tech, Angela was perfectly suited for the task of pet-sitting my little girl and making sure she got her fluids. After Gigi passed away, we adopted two kittens through Angela's cat rescue. Six years later, Maggie and Lola are doing great, and Angela and her staff are still caring for them when we travel. I would never even consider anyone else - they're pretty high-maintenance in some ways (spoiled rotten!), but we know they're being cared for when we're not there. I don't know what we'd do without her. Obviously, we have not been able to travel recently, but are hoping to do so later this year. I've kept in touch with Angela, and I know she's been an absolute Godsend to a lot of animals during this time, using her love and knowledge to place dozens of cats and kittens, as well as continuing to offer dog walking and pet sitting services.

I knew she was the dog walker for me when we met for the first time she dropped to her knees and loved on my dogs. I have had Angela, Ashley, Paul or Mark, in my house, walking my dogs and foster dogs at least 3 times a week sometimes more depending on how many fosters I have. Every time, I get a note about how the walk went which includes who my dogs hung with that day, any irregularities they may have noticed and of course the pee/poop report. I've also had some of my dogs have attend her day care program. When I have to travel I can leave my dogs with Angela confident in the knowledge that they will be well cared for in my absence. We've experienced all the highs and lows of dog ownership together over the years and there certainly have been times when Leach Love went above and beyond to help me care for my dogs such as bringing Gypsy to the vet and meeting me there (if they hadn't then it would have been at least 1.5 hours before I could have gotten home from work then getting her to the vet). Critical time was saved. Or the time Angela because of her medical experience, helped me navigate a medical issue with Ringo. I highly recommend Angela and her team at Leash Love because they care for my pets the way I do, with love, care, compassion and leadership.

I called Lap of Love early in the morning on a Saturday, and they had an opening on Monday as well as an off-hours visit that evening due to a cancellation. As much as I wanted to put this off, I knew that I couldn't do that to my best fluffy guy and reserved that night's appointment. Dr. Kim (Smith) arrived just before 8pm, and after greeting my sweet boy she sat on the floor with him and explained the process, what he would feel (nothing after the needle itself) and asked if I had any more questions. My sweet boy left a while later with her - bundled up with one of his squeaky toys - and as I watched them drive away, I realized that in 14 years I had never seen him driving away from me. It was an awful feeling, but Dr. Kim's kindness made me feel better about making that phone call earlier in the day. She emailed me the following morning to see how I was doing, and reminded me that she and everyone at Lap of Love were there if I needed to speak with them.

Upon arrival, we were welcomed by a kind woman who guided us to our room right away. Not only did she give lots of attention to my pup, she also brought in 2 new dog toys for him to be entertained (he was thrilled)! Unfortunately we have had many trips to the vet given my dogs allergies, and this place stood out. Very peaceful, clean, kind employees/ vet techs and veterinarian. The cost shocked me, in the opposite way than usual. SO affordable- especially with their new patient deal. While we waited to check out, the receptionist who greeted us offered my dog a new tennis ball, and a bag of treats! I left relived knowing my dog got great medical care and my dog left overjoyed by new toys and lots of pets. I highly recommend this location, I will be back! Thank you!!! - Brady

She came back out with my puppy a few minutes later looking extremely worried and mentioned that my puppy was growling when being handled and she thought it was a neck pain issue. Of course being at the vet and trying to be prudent, we asked if the vet could evaluate since we were there. Long story short, they ended up keeping our puppy for a few hours, only to end up saying that it was behavioral and they recommended puppy class/puppy boot camp...which she was already signed up for. Imagine going in for a vaccine only to think your puppy has a broken neck, to being told "just kidding, she's fine, nothing to worry about." It scared us very badly and was handled horrendously, I do not recommend this location, or any of the techs, or the vet. Seems like a cash grab for diagnosing major problems and literally no bedside manner from any of the staff.

first, let me tell you that I don't like seeing bad reviews about this vet veterinarian office…read more There are two doctors there, and I will only speak of one. His name is Doctor Chorpa. You need to know that when you make an appointment at this place, you can pick what vet you want to see and I will take Dr. Chopra over any vet on the planet. He has saved my nine-year-old pitbull now three times. Just recently, he cut two huge sections of cancer out that just missed his organs. This dog means the world to me and I have many dogs and they all see Dr. Chopra. This place is no longer a veterinarian office. Dr. Chopra is no longer a vet. These people to me have become my family. From the girls who work at the front counter who I love and the Doran took care of me when I had to put one of my dogs down and they gave me nothing but love when nobody else did. crazy Carl who no matter what Animal you bring in he will give it a hug and a kiss in the lips and show it nothing but love even if it bites him he's crazy like that, but I love them. To the girls who help in the back with Dr. Chopra to hold my dogs down while we have to stitch them up by hand sometimes. This doctor was so good to me that he sees my dog every other day and never charged me. He sold my dog up every other day. Went through and what this man did he went so above and beyond it's not even funny. I owe these people part of my soul. I'm the type of guy that will tell you like it is whether you like it or and I'm telling everybody here that this veterinarian place will go above and beyond to save your animal. Dr. Chopra was on vacation and still made me send him pictures every day of my dogs recovery while he was on vacation and got back to me every day. He didn't have to do that but he actually cares most vets. Yeah they're in it for the money and they charge a lot of money. That's part of the game deal with it. But I'm telling you right now this place and everybody in it I can't speak highly enough of all of them. So if you're looking for a good vet with all my heart, I'm telling you, Dr. Chopra is the best around.

Both of my dogs supposedly had the same procedures done, yet during an emergency situation when I had to travel overseas, I found out one of my dogs was missing vaccines and apparently never had a microchip registered -- even though I was told otherwise. To make matters worse, the staff could not find important records and were very unprofessional and rude when I tried to get answers. During a stressful emergency, the last thing a pet owner needs is confusion, lack of accountability, and poor customer service. I trusted this clinic for years and now I feel completely let down. Please think twice before bringing your pets here.
