I really wanted to love this place but in my book it was just 3 stars. I love the idea of custom donuts, however I feel like if Duck Donuts is going to go on concept, they have the scope to have many more creative toppings...there isn't anything I could get here that I wouldn't get at another donut shop. The only difference is that it comes out piping hot and fresh. Even flavor wise, I definitely prefer Baker's Dozen down on Buck Jones or of course, Monuts in Durham. Sooooooo great! Fresh made warm donuts - YES PLEASE! Since this franchise location opened my wife and I have been here several times - always great food and staff. Free samples too! I always get the peanut butter topping but I have yet to not like any of their toppings. I usually get an iced coffee (no refills like the regular coffee) and it's not bad. Once I did try a breakfast sandwich there and it was ok but nothing compared to the donuts. YUM! Omg this place is so good. Went here this morning because we just moved to Cary and got a "welcome to the neighborhood" card with two free donuts and a coffee. Husband liked the coffee. For $1.40 you can get an amazing donut I would suggest getting four or five at least. They also have complementary water inside. When you were eating the sweet donut with icing and a topping you will definitely need this cup of water. The staff is very friendly. Be sure that you take notes of their hours.
