Duck donuts only has the vanilla cake donut, but they've nailed it. The appeal of this place is that the donuts are fresh and hot when you receive them. They stay incredibly moist and soft even after cooling down and you can always reheat them in the microwave for 10 secs if you're taking them to-go (there's not much inside seating, only saw 1 table). For first timers: there's tons of parking in the lot outside. Once inside, walk all the way to the opposite end of the store to where the cashier is. The menu and prices are on the wall, but the glaze and topping combinations (you can make your own or choose from theirs) are on a laminated sheet on the table where you'll order and pay. You'll get a receipt with a number on it, and you pick up your order on the other side of the store (they'll call out the number). As others have mentioned, the staff is very varied in terms of friendliness and helpfulness. The guy taking my order this time gave me no greeting and I had to ask him "are you ready?" He also only spoke under his breath. It was off-putting and I hope to never have that interaction again. So I'd recommend taking a look at the options online and having an idea of what you want before going inside. The girl making my donuts, however, was super nice and asked me if everything looked accurate before putting the lid to the box on. Okay, for the donuts themselves: the base is very sweet with pound cake consistency. My absolute favorite combo here is the maple bacon. I'm not a huge bacon fan but it adds a saltiness, savoriness and crunch to balance out the sugar. The maple glaze is fantastic as well. The other flavors I got were good but not memorable. I like that there are 3 steps to customization: coating, topping, and drizzle, so the possibilities are endless. read more

There is plenty of parking because of its location in the mall! What I love about this place is that they make the donuts fresh in front of you- nothing is pre-prepared. I am visiting Durham so went to that location. I had difficulty with their website. I couldn't order online using the website and kept getting a message that read " glitch on the website due to volume." Alright, I love donuts. I have tried A LOT of them. Here's the thing I was excited to try them because they had great reviews. I personally didn't care for these as a matter of fact they are still in my fridge. I got a 6 pack allowing my other half to choose 2 (so I guess I got a 4 pack). I took a bit out of them while they were still hot. The peanut butter and chocolate was probably the best if I had to choose. Oh. My. Word. I did not know that donuts as amazing as these truly existed in the real world! They were resplendent. Inspiring. They made me want to be chubby.
