I have passed this place many times but have never stopped. I remember the old store and it was not my favorite place. Duck Roost was totally redone and very inviting. Keep in mind, this is a very country, down home kind of restaurant. I ordered the shrimp cocktail. It had 13 shrimp which were tasty but pretty ordinary. It came with a remoulade sauce. This dip had mustard seeds, pesto, and some other delicious component. It was VERY different than anything I've ever had but it was delicious. I also ordered a half order of alligator sauce piquant. Super delicious- it was served over a bead of fluffy white rice and a piece of garlic bread. This meal came with a 22 oz drink for 18 bucks. I left fully satisfied and didn't spend a fortune. I will totally be going back! The four stars is due to the lack of seating. There was a lot of people there and not a lot of tables.

This place is a godsend! Apart from being your typical convenience store, they have a restaurant with dine-in and carry-out options. During the week they serve breakfast, and while I haven't personally been there for breakfast, I've only heard raving reviews; especially about the Shrimp & Grits. You can get a variety of boiled seafood here for decent prices. The crawfish are amazingly seasoned and good size - especially for now being toward the end of season. I heard rave reviews about the Royal Red Shrimp, so I ordered a pound. It set me back about $10, but it was absolutely worth it. To me, they seem more like prawn than shrimp, but at the end of the day they're delicious and semantics don't matter. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Quick tip: They keep kind of off hours and don't serve breakfast on weekends, so definitely check before driving over.

Came in about 1:45 today, first weekend they stayed open all day. The three of us had shrimp poboys and fries. The bread was toasted and soft just the way i like it, dressed, forgot to ask about onions so here dressed means onions also. The shrimp were great sized and fried perfectly. French fries were i think tossed in garlic and salted, not too bad. All in all a great deal for lunch and great poboys.

Always good food, great service. You won't be disappointed if you're dining in or getting boiled seafood to go.

Love the pepper jack boudin balls. Well seasoned crawfish when in season. Great prices.

The best cracklins EVER! Also they have some sort of seafood egg roll which is to die for. I cannot wait to try the lunch specials.

I get my fill off the boudin balls when I don't want to drive to Tony's or Billy's by going here.

I originally wanted to go somewhere else for oysters because I love mine loaded with lots of butter…read moreand Parmesan etc. I even suggested one of my favorite spots that I always visit when I'm in New Orleans but insisted, "No, no, no you have to try Mike Anderson's!" So, I gave it a chance. We made reservations and were seated almost immediately, which was a great start. The restaurant was a little cold inside, the strawberry lemonade was delicious and the food overall was very good. The oysters were actually really good! I was especially excited that they let me try one I had never seen on a menu before, the BBQ oysters jalapeño. It was fun stepping outside of my usual order, I was glad I did. It was a rainy day, so we ended up getting pretty soaked coming in and leaving but that certainly wasn't the restaurant's fault. What really stood out was the service. Our waiter was incredibly accommodating, attentive and friendly, the entire waitstaff made us feel welcome. The restaurant was also clean, bathroom as well which I always appreciate. Overall, I had a great experience. I'm glad I gave Mike Anderson's a try. Great food, great service and I'd definitely come back.

All the standard fried seafood is what you hoped and is the best. Rich dark Seafood Gumbo with layers of flavor. I enjoyed the Gulf boiled shrimp and sweet corn on the cob. Shrimp was very fresh, perfect seasoned and cooked, meaning peeling the shells easily fell off. My wife and I shared the Yellow Fin Tuna Steak blacked just right. All in all a wonderful dining experience capped off with coffee and turtle pie topped with praline ice cream! If given the chance we will return. Keep up the great work fellows.
