Came here for a family gathering right after Christmas. Place was packed! We made reservations so we were seated right away, towards the back. The place was decorated beautifully for the holiday. We were served promptly. We got a couple different appetizers including the bread and the gator bites. The bites were super yummy. The bread hot and fresh, but a touch heavy on the garlic. We also tried the spinach and artichoke dip which was very tasty. I had the grilled chicken with veggies and a loaded baked potato. The potato was awesome! The chicken was ok, and the veggies were ok as well. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals, which was a plus! We skipped dessert as everyone was full.

Blackened Salmon. I couldn't eat it all.

The highlight for us was the waiter! He provided amazing service. The food was ok. The chicken gumbo and gator bites were delicious. We enjoyed the small chargrilled oysters but the bbq oysters wasn't a hit for us.

The service was good especially during the busy lunch hour! My husband and I ordered hamburger steaks with twice baked potato and to our surprise, it came with vegetables, and a side salad plus garlic bread! Way too much food for lunch so very generous portions! The restaurant is roomy and clean with white tablecloths. Yes, I recommend this place.

We went for lunch today and was seated on the side of the restaurant. This was our first time in that section. Also has some large tv's playing. It was so nice. The room is large and bright. We really enjoyed our lunch there. Our food came out very hot and everything was delicious. Our waiter was great!

I went here with a group of 16. They were able to accommodate us with a reservation the day of. They allotted one server for our table which ended up not being too bad. Holy moly the oysters are HUGE and tasty with the bread. You have to get the oysters. Most meals come with a salad of your choice between house or Caesar. The stuffed mushrooms were a great add on for appetizers. I got the norman, it was a cozy meal with really large shrimp. I personally would've liked something more spicy. The gator bites were huge as well and fresh. I recommend if you're trying to get some Louisiana cuisine in the area.

Our server Bree was so on point with everything! Definitely would go and ask for her to be our server every time! The oysters and side salad were delicious. Queen cake was like a fog bread pudding, delicious. Crab 7 ways was a bit confusing to me, the butternut squash soup wasn't a hit for us but the Augratin and stuffed crab were the best out of the 7 ways. Overall had a very pleasant dining experience and would return!

Camryn was our waitress last night and she was fantastic! She took care of us and was above and beyond. We started with the house bread with cheese dip, so delicious! My husband ordered the Guitreau and he ate it all and was very pleased. I ordered the Burnside spinach salad with grilled shrimp and it was the best. My mother in law had the Joliet and she was very delighted. It was a great dinner time and one of our favorite places!

Every time I visit the Gonzales area I have to at least visit Mike Anderson's for a dinner. This trip I actually went two nights in a row and with the variety of choices there is now way to be bored with the selection! The location is adjacent to the Clarion Conference center so don't be confused when entering the hotel parking lot. It has its own entrance to the right of hotel. Every meal I have had is exceptional and service is right on point. Since traveling alone I usually sit at bar area which is well staffed and a great atmosphere to meet others in town and locals alike. I highly recommend trying the grilled oysters if given the chance which is cooked right there in front of you! The Shrimp Norman will not disappoint and leave you filled with the fresh shrimp covered in sauce. Will continue to visit this establishment on my upcoming trips to the area so if you haven't been then you should go for it!

I had the Tuna steak , vegetables and fries .. I might be ignorant but I've never had anyone ask how I want my tuna cooked . The meal was pretty good , place was clean .. they gave a lot of food . Service could have been better . It's more of a fine dining experience.

The bathrooms are clean even if one of the doors doesn't latch well. We tried the chocolate Bavarian cream stuffed beignets and the regular beignets and the cafe au lait. The beignets are the best I had anywhere. They were a nice size and they were light and fluffy and covered in powdered sugar. The cafe au lait was just ok, I think we liked it better the cafe au lait mixed half and half with the French roast coffee for a stronger coffee flavor. The service was great. Very friendly and helpful and we don't wait too long to take our food with us. You can sit and eat in also but we were on our way through. We loved how coffee house is tucked into a little antique shop Cajun village. It has Cajun country music playing and there are stuffed gators around and lot of interesting antiques. I wish it were closer to more things to do, but if you're on the road from Nola to Baton Rouge it is a definite must! I really hope to go back with more time and try more interesting things.

We met the owner, Shelly, who is originally from China, and she was incredibly warm and welcoming. What really surprised us was that they served us fresh wasabi instead of the usual paste -- I've never had that before, and it was amazing. Once you try it fresh, you can never go back. Our server, Dashay, was fantastic -- kind, attentive, and just such a lovely young woman. We started with hot sake and Kirin draft beer, then ordered a spicy tuna roll and a hamachi (yellowtail and scallion) roll, both of which were excellent. We also had tempura -- the batter was a little thick for my personal taste, but the sauces were so good that it still hit the spot. My favorite dish was the ama ebi (sweet shrimp), especially because they bring out the fried shrimp head, which was crispy and delicious. The sushi was fresh, well-prepared, and beautifully balanced. Between the amazing food and the genuine hospitality, we had such a wonderful evening. I can absolutely see why this is Parker's favorite sushi spot in Gonzales. Highly recommend, and we'll definitely be back.

We ordered the vegetable spring rolls they had very little filling, had an odd flavor from the oil, but were very crispy. I ordered the hibachi lunch. My daughter ordered General Taos chicken. The portions were large. The fried rice had hard dried out pieces of rice, I guess it had sat open somewhere and dried out. the menu said my chicken would have a teriyaki sauce, not teriyaki, some not good sauce which was so salty I couldn't eat it. The raw chicken had not been covered I am guessing, because it had a 'skin' on it? I could not eat it. My lunch came with a choice of salad or clear soup. I chose the salad, was very crispy but it had almost an 1/2 inch of water in the bottom of the bowl. My daughter said her clear soup was excellent. Her General Taos chicken had an old freezer taste she said . We were totally unable to eat the entrees. So sad. We had hoped that this would be our go to place for Chinese food.
