Shrimp po-boy is overflowing with good size shrimp. Well seasoned. I wasn't in the mood for fries. Mash and gravy is excellent!

I rarely give 5 stars. I've been looking for a decent po boy in Baton Rouge for a long time. Most are not good AT ALL! Out of the many many places, this is the absolute BEST! Bread= good and chewy. Stuffed with a ton of shrimp. The customer service was so excellent, that even if it was not that good, I'd go back and try something else. It was THAT good tho. Highly recommend Can't wait to go back and try something else.

A MUST GO !!! You must... you must ... you must. This was absolutely the best fried fish and shrimp plate I have had at a reasonable price point. I have been hearing about this place and had never been. I HAVE BEEN MISSING OUT!! The lady that took my order was extremely helpful since this was my first visit. She suggested the combo plate and the sides. The green beans were great. Mac and cheese needed a little more seasoning, yet still good. The freshness of the seafood will make me return again. The restaurant is very cute. I didn't dine in this time.

Fried catfish. Moist, tender, flakey, delicious.

So glad we came here for lunch. Everyone was friendly. This is a down right southern soul filling food spot you need to try! Hush puppies were served upon sitting down as if they were dinner rolls. We even got another basket while we waited on our food. The catfish was . I haven't had such moist and flakey perfectly cooked fried catfish in so long. And the crawfish etouffee was delicious. It was nice that at the end of your meal, you could go to the back of their storage area where they have a running vanilla icecream machine that you can top your belly off with if you have any more room for it. It's like home.

If you are ever visiting LSU and are looking for a place to eat, I recommend Crawford's. The owners "spoke" when I walked in and that is all that I really need to feel at home. It was not too crowded and the wait for food was not long. The only thing that I would pass on are the corn fritters; I did not enjoy the cream corn filling inside. Other than that, everything from the hush puppies, fried shrimp, to the fried fish are great choices.

This is a family casual locally owned restaurant that's been around since the 1970 pr 80's. They have the best fried catfish in Louisiana hands down. They have breakfast and lunch and supper. They have hamburgers and sandwiches as well as lunch specials If you haven't tried them give them a try. You can also get the all you can eat fried fish filets and the also have whole fried catfish, Open 10 AM TO 8 PM BUT CLOSED SUNDAY & Monday

Hidden gem alert! My husband has been singing the praises of Crawford's for lunch on fridays he brews for a while and I finally tried it recently - wow! We both got the combo fish and shrimp platter and it was A TON of fresh seafood - the shrimp were huge and cooked perfectly and the fish was mild and delightful. You also get 2 sides with the platter so I got the side of greens and Mac and cheese and my husband got the fried okra and Mac. The greens needed a bit more seasoning but were perfectly cooked and very juicy. The mac is AMAZING. Also, don't sleep on the cocktail and tartar. A wonderful accompaniment to all this awesomeness. I will definitely be back!

Crawfords has amazing Cajun home cooking with amazing customer service' Mini was our server and has taken care of my Grandmother and Great Aunt for their weekly lunch outings at Crawfords. This time we were able to take my Grandmother to one of her favorite places and meet her sweet server. The food here is local cuisine that reminds me of my childhood. The prices are great too!! They also offer family size ordering to make it easy in large groups.... Or to take dinner home! The fried catfish is my grandmothers favorite. We all loved our choices. The kiddos also loved the soft serve ice cream in the back! Thanks Crawfords for your many years of service to the Baton Rouge community! I highly recommend and we will be back!

My God I looked at the reviews and thought this place would be good I couldn't of been more wrong the gumbo was pretty bad the étouffée was an edible and the only thing decent what is the grill chicken on the salad the service wasn't good place isn't really clean the bathroom looks terrible trust me don't come here.

Best. Catfish. Ever! The service is always friendly and with a smile. The atmosphere is perfect for a good family night out. Check the hours.... Catch them when they're open and you will be in heaven!.

Never new this little place existed in Baton Rouge. They serve breakfast lunch and dinner. I visited for lunch and ordered the all you can eat shrimp and catfish. I wasn't a fan of the fish, but the shrimp had me wanting more. I literally ate all the shrimp I could, and visited this restaurant for the all you can eat shrimp three Fridays straight. No, I didn't ride to BR just for the shrimp, well maybe, I had business. The complimentary hush puppies were a welcomed treat while waiting for your food. The sides I enjoyed the most were the fried okra and regular fries. The sweet potato fries are good, if that is what you prefer. Until we meet again!

We were not wrong, the line was to the door. The slogans on the walls and everything in the restaurant was neat and well organized. I read the two comments on the chalk board and my expectation for high quality food increased significantly. Sadly, that would be it. Two registers looked available, but only one was working. The guy taking orders seemed new and friendly. Unfortunately, his conversation tended to move away from taking orders and trying to make small talk with the customers. This made waiting in line borderline intolerable, especially with the child behind me jumping up and down on the wall leading to the register (thank goodness one of the parents finally made her stop). Once at the register, it seemed that the guy was new (or newer) and struggled with the orders a little bit. After repeating my order a few times, he got it. We went to the "Jam Bar" for coffee and water. The sweetener was almost out, there was no cream and one urn was out (the lady was prepping the empty urn for new coffee). I commented about the cream, but was completely ignored by the employee. Another employee came up and I asked her about the cream. She pointed at the 4-5 single serve creamers there and said that was it. I asked about the metal pitcher and she said, "Oh yeah, that has some too." I told her it was empty. She looked confused and then picked it up and left. So, I just served old coffee in my cup that I had to go find since no one offered it to me ($3.50/cup, I would have assumed it would be pristine, but not so much and no one seemed concerned). Now to the meal: I ordered the Vicious Benny and Old School Breakfast. The Vicious Benny was mediocre at best. The ham and hollandaise were good, but the biscuit was grainy and the over easy egg was runny and a little slimy. And there wasn't a whole lot of taste to the meal. The OS Breakfast was much better, but still not a lot of flavor. The bacon was pretty good and flavorful. The eggs and potatoes were cooked well, just no seasoning. Overall, such a sad experience. Maybe my expectations were too high based on what I saw and the crowd when I went into the restaurant.

I have lived in BR for 6 years now. Many departments at LSU take guests there and in that time, Building 5 has done nothing to improve its parking lot. The restaurant sits underneath an overpass and the parking is pothole marked unpaved gravel. This means that there is no room for wheelchairs or accommodations for anyone who is differently-abled to get into the restaurant. The whole restaurant makes no room for handicapped persons. On the occasion I did get food, the food is slightly overpriced. All meats were cooked adequately but the food was lukewarm probably owing to sitting in the kitchen under the heat lamp than being delivered promptly. When I have gone, I regularly have to ask for refills on soda as I am the designated driver often for department functions. Servers pay you no heed if you do not buy alcohol. We specifically found this restaurant because we searched online for gluten free restaurants, so we were excited to see that you offered a separate gluten free menu. However, there are some serious issues with the accuracy of that menu that need to be addressed. When we asked about the pork rinds brought to the table, we were told they are fried in the same oil as everything else. That in itself is your choice as a restaurant, and we understand cross contamination can happen. We were also told the french fries are cooked in beef tallow in a separate fryer, but they are not considered gluten free, which is why they are not listed on the gluten free menu. Again, that is completely understandable. What is not acceptable is having items listed on the gluten free menu that are not actually gluten free due to cross contamination. The pork rinds and cheddar filled tater tots were both listed on the gluten free menu despite being fried in shared oil with gluten containing foods. For someone with celiac disease, this is not a small mistake or a dietary preference issue. My husband has celiac disease, and if he had eaten the pork rinds based on trusting the gluten free menu, he could have become extremely ill and potentially needed hospital care. Our daughter has gluten sensitivity, and she would have been sick for the rest of the night as well. Many people still treat gluten free as if it is just a fad diet, but for people with celiac disease, it is a serious autoimmune condition that causes real physical harm. To the OWNER: please educate your staff and kitchen on what gluten free truly means, and update the menu so customers can trust it. People with celiac disease should not have to risk getting sick because menu items are mislabeled.
