An Aztec legend tells of a princess with an incurable disease who was cured after bathing and drinking water from the Topo Chico natural spring. We checked this place out recently to watch a Rockets playoff game and it was great. The space is massive. So much space inside and out on the patio. The bar area is huge. We sat out on the patio by the big screen for most of the game until it started to rain. Luckily, we were able to find a spot inside to watch the rest of the game. The service was great. They had a DJ during commercial breaks and games/contests. One of the former Rockets' players was there taking pictures and signing autographs. The atmosphere was pretty fun to watch a game in. What a cool place. This was my first time coming to Kirby's ice house and I was quite surprise how large the space was indoor and outdoors. We came with a large group of 20 plus people and we were all accommodated with seating and standing space to watch the Mike Tyson fight. There were so many different areas to hang out depending on your vibe. There were areas with beach chairs ,picnic tables, high top tables and the bar seating plus the indoor bar area which was nice balance. There were many ways to grab a drink, either from the bar outdoor or the one indoor. The only bummer was that the 2nd bar outside was inactive for the night, but the positive was that there were servers walking around all night with drink orders. There were many flat screens indoor and outdoors and multiple very large movie screens outdoors. Perfect to watch the fight! I loved the neon signs! The bar servers were friendly and very fast to take and make your drink. There were also two food trucks outdoors which was nice if you needed a bite ( Cuban sandwiches or hot chicken) . This is my 3rd time coming here & once again it's just been okay for me. This spot is very spacious with good amount of seats on the inside and a very large seating on the outside. This is a great place to bring a party of 50. If you're not into large crowds then this isn't the place for you. I only went because it was four of my friend's birthday, otherwise I would've picked a different spot. My anxiety definitely increased with the amount of people that were there. Let's start with the positive, I ordered a jack & coke, manhattan & 2 Long Island ice teas. All were strong and tasty. The last Long Island definitely had me up there. It was mainly liquor with a little bit of tea, so no complaints. The staff were okay, they weren't the nicest but they did their job to get the drinks out in a timely manner. We were there for the Tyson/Paul fight so I definitely understood that they were slammed. The parking is trash. They have a decent amount of parking spots but it's just too many people. I see folks driving in circles hoping to find a spot but luckily I took uber to get here because I knew what I was getting into. The food I ordered at the food truck was below par. I got the chicken tenders with French fries. While I can tell they made it fresh to order and the tenders were not frozen. It was just bland with no seasoning. There was barely any coating on the chicken to make it crispy, they could've fried it a little harder. I think they were in a rush to make my food. The fries were sad with no salt nor did it had a crunch to it. The best part were their ranch. The thought process for making fresh chicken rather than freezer bag was great but the execution was garbage. Definitely not worth 14 bucks plus tips. If you're drunk you probably would've care but I was drunk & it still tasted like nothing. Overall, it was an okay experience. Not my ideal spot but it got the job done as far as drinks. It's 23 and up to get in so don't be surprised if you're denied entry if you're 21-22. This is also a dog friendly spot, so bring your fur babies out there. They have a rotation of food trucks coming in so it's not the same all the time. Hopefully if I were to ever come back, they will have better food options. read more

This is the place to be on a Thursday night if you want to watch football. They have a large parking lot. Inside they have several different tv's to watch the different games on. I've been here a few times over the years. It has always been a solid experience. The bar wrapping around to both sides of the joint is clutch. The service has always been pretty fast, whether it's crowded or not. They always seem to have a different food truck or popup for food. I'm not sure I've ever seen the same crews twice, but that could be because I don't go often, and always on different days. They have a solid daily specials menu. The last time I went was whiskey $5 with premium specials at $7. Not a bad deal. Also, last I heard this place has an age restriction of 23+. I dig a bit of refinement in regards to the clientele (insert golf claps). Their drinks are basically classics. I haven't seen them have creative cocktails, or an amazing beer selection, just a solid sports bar type of menu. This place would accomodate any social or professional gathering where anyone could find something they like to drink, at a reasonable price, and a fair bit of room. My last experience was supporting a military veterans group at MD Anderson. Everyone was happy with the drinks and food. It happened to be steak night, and the steaks were great. Location-wise it is relatively central to most places. Rush hour sucks on 59 (always), but it sucks everywhere. They have a larger parking lot that always seems to be full. read more

my friends and i went during happy hour on a friday. when ordering from the happy hour list, literally pointing at it as we ordered, our server offered everything that would be upcharged/ didn't apply to happy hour without disclosing that. felt very disingenuous. my friend specified house wine and our server only offered sauvignon blanc (so when i asked about my bill at the end she said the pinot grigio was the one that applied) i asked for hornitos on the happy hour menu and she asked if i wanted it as a shot or a drink (most places honor making a drink w the happy hour liquor for maybe a slight increase) i said ranch water instead of a shot. but when i asked why is it $12 instead of $7, she initially said it would be $8 as a cocktail and then immediately said "no a ranch water is $12." it seeeeems like she was being half truthful to get a bigger tab therefore a bigger tip. read more

Ambiance: This is a sports bar with indoor and outdoor seating. It has many TVs on the walls but it is too loud to really enjoy watching the game. We had a group event so found our standing tables to talk. This place is very loud so chatting and hearing each other was a challenge. Parking: While there is a large parking lot, getting one is a challenge and it can be quite frustrating to find a spot. There is chaos as people are scrambling to get a spot. There is limited street parking and it it was not for a group event, I would have left. We finally found a spot on the street. Service: Excellent, fast and attentive service. I arrived and I was not standing for more than 5 minutes when a young lady arrived to ask what I wanted to drink. I asked for an IPA and she explained would I prefer regular or hazy. I went with the hazy and less then 2 minutes, I had my beer. Excellent fast service. The beer was cold, It was an IPA, not hazy IPA.
