Empty restaurant in downtown during Friday night dinner service....that was already a sign. Besides our group, there were about 5 tables occupied. Our server was very friendly and offered recommendations. We started with Brussels, meatballs, and spinach dip. The Brussels were the best appetizer. Had a nice crisp to them. Being a sucker for risotto, I ordered the chicken piccata even though the server recommended the chicken parmigiana. The chicken piccata sauce was too thin and had a unique after taste. My friend loved the chicken parmigiana. All of our entrees were quite large needing to go boxes. Of course we had to get a dessert. The tiramisu was massive. It could be shared amongst three. We also go the mini cannolis which were good. All in all, the food was decent, and the service was good. read more

Very lukewarm experience here. Came in for dinner with another couple a few weeks back. Our sever was wonderful and the restaurant was in a great spot. Really easy to get a table too. Very trendy interior with separate dining space and a bar/cocktail lounge. Issue was the food and drink. Very overpriced for what I thought was very average quality and small portions. I had the shrimp carbonara and was underwhelmed. It's not that it was bad, but it did not seem particularly high-quality either. My girlfriend enjoyed her stuffed shells, but both of us thought the portions were quite small for the nearly $40 price point per item. We also had a bottle of bruno andreu "zo'oc" cab sav which again was good but not at the price point we were charged of $45. Overall decent food, but I think there are plenty of better options in Columbus for Italian that offer larger portions and higher quality at a similar or lower price. Where do you go when you want to celebrate a couple of birthdays? We wanted to try someplace new, so Due Amici won the lucky draw. None of us have ever dined here and we had heard good reports, so thought we'd give it a whirl. The ambiance was nice and the service was excellent. We ordered a margarita pizza to share as a little nibble. It was so good. Two of us went with the Diablo pasta and the other got the Chicken Parmesan as the main course. Everyone loved their choice. I got to also try a couple of bites of the chicken Parmesan and the crunch breading was so good. I would be tempted to try it next time. While I thought the food was good, I don't think it justified the high prices. Especially the wine. $18 to $24 for a GLASS of wine, is ridiculous. I would label the restaurant as a very "special occasion" restaurant. Due to the prices, I wouldn't consider this a place I would frequent on a regular basis. I'm glad I tried it, but not sure I would be a regular here. read more

My son and I had brunch here on a Sunday before seeing a show at the Ohio Theater. We were promptly seated and greeted by our server, who was helpful and attentive. The brunch menu features traditional fare and French offerings (which seems strange for an Italian restaurant). My son ordered the peaches and cream French toast, which was really craveable. He ate every bite! My beef Bourguignon was a bit of a let down, oily with too many fatty pieces of beef. Great modern Italian restaurant downtown. I had antipasti and meatballs for appetizers and chicken marsala as a main. The marsala was over risotto. It was good - could've used a little more sauce but it's better than being drenched. There was music at the bar - it was nice in the background in the dining area. Had a phenomenal dinner early this week. The location is beautifully lit and had calming vibe. They had a live jazz band that was playing. The service was great. The food was DELICIOUS. The bruschetta was a melt in your mouth type of cheese. The brussel spouts were one of the best I have ever had in a restaurant. The mix of flavors was tasty. I ordered the $17 Peaches & Cream French Toast and the $22 Duck Leg Confit, and both dishes completely exceeded expectations. The French toast was delicious--crispy on the outside, soft and custardy on the inside, with perfectly sweet peaches that still had a bit of bite. It struck a great balance between indulgent and fresh, and didn't feel overly heavy. But the duck leg confit was the real standout. The meat was so tender it practically fell off the bone, and it was juicy, rich, and seasoned to perfection. The accompanying salad was just as memorable: the blackberry vinaigrette added a bright, sweet contrast, and the toasted almonds brought a great crunch that tied everything together. I didn't place a photo with my last review and included here. Not only is the happy hour menu good but considering the meal plan that I and my family are on now - we have discovered the fig salad with a filet of salmon and the bread as our new go to. As usual the service is great and friendly even at the bar with the house bartender. And the ambiance is warm, cozy, and chic with the free jazz trio during the Friday and weekend happy hour time in the spring/summer making this a go to spot. It is open to all yet I am pleasantly surprised that this is an adult only spot, not too many kids if any. Though there is a dining room where you can take them if you have them. Just do the locals a favor and don't sit them in the front t-tables or bar area please. We all want to have a good time without the tantrums and screaming if possible! LOL read more

While in town for work, I had dinner with a friend and her family here. The restaurant is comfy, and open. We had dinner with two kids here with no issues and pretty good service. Food was your standard italian fare - nothing blew my socks off. I tried the chicken parm. Chicken was cooked well and I liked the rose sauce to take some of the bite away from your usual marinara. Prices are a little on the higher side, maybe due to location, not sure. I was told I needed to visit the facilities before leaving and got to go downstairs into their bathroom. It's not very accessible for those who are mobility limited, but it feels like walking into some underground catacombs. Very interesting vibe - so long as you can traverse stairs easily. read more

Solid Italian establishment in downtown Cbus! Every time I come here the food and servers are great. It's a pretty chill vibe. Some people dress on the fancier side while others wear something more casual. The only reason I didn't decide to rate Due Amici five stars is because there are a few better options in the general area. To be honest, I was really debating on whether it should be 4 or 5 stars. I highly recommend the Tomato Soup and Chicken Parmesan (pasta, they also have a sandwich) but everything I've tried here has been tasty. Everyone working here is very kind and helpful. They offer reservations but one is not normally necessary (at least when I've been here ). The kitchen is very accommodating and can split a meal onto two of you want to share with someone else. Overall, I suggest taking a trip to Due Amici if you're craving some delicious Italian cuisine! read more

Great atmosphere with live jazz on a Monday. Private room is great because you can hear your dining companions easily. Food was not very good. Over cooked/over sauced salmon, uninspired salad, chocolate brownie didn't seem to be homemade or using fine chocolate. We were part of a group, the service was cordial and attentive. The server was extremely kind and understanding when I ordered the duck breast and it did not taste very good nor was the texture. I had never tried duck before so I guess that was on me lol. She took it off of the bill and I order a small citrus salad with salmon and it was pretty good. My husband had the steak and loved it although it was very fatty. Had a star taken off because the prices are extremely high for what you order and the portions. Will be back soon sometime probably but never ordering duck again lol. read more

I guess I should have never gotten a hamburger at an Italian establishment. The hamburger was terrible. Absolutely terrible. The bun for the hamburger was cold and dry. The meat fell apart as soon I took a bite. The fries were super soggy and full of grease. The service was super slow. I gave this a two star review due to the fact that the waiter and waitress were very nice. I guess they were doing all they could to serve all of the guests in the restaurant. The restaurant & the bathrooms were very clean. I won't be back. I was disappointed in my meal, I just had high hopes that this would have been a better dining experience. read more

We've been coming here for years! This place has had its ups and downs and from the reviews it's appears to be a hit or miss. I like that it isn't bursting with crowds (unless you time it right before a big show is about to start in town). Sometimes we've made reservations and other times we just sit at the bar. The service has always been great. And we've never had an issue with our food. It's always delicious to us. We really enjoyed our meal here. The staff was kind and gracious about accommodating bill splitting since we're on a work trip. I got the chicken parm and absolutely loved it--great portion and flavor. We were brought bread and oil for the table, and the bruschetta we ordered was nice. You can participate in happy hour if you sit in the area close to the bar, and you get half off all starters, glasses of wine, and mules. My Moscow mule was okay, but I did ask for extra like. My only qualm is that this place advertises a patio and says you get to do happy hour if you sit out there, but they've got like 3, 2-person tables, so you can't really sit on the patio if you wanted to have enough room for plates and drinks. This is maybe the third bad experience we've had in a row and I don't think we'll go back. We had a reservation yet waited 5-7 minutes for someone to come to the hostess stand to seat us. Our appetizer and salad arrived at the same time and before our drinks and about 25 minutes after we were seated. Clearly not enough staff ... restaurant was absolutely packed and for some odd reason, full of kids ... it was very noisy ... we were seated next to a table of 10 - three adults and 7 kids under 10. Came to Due Amici during happy hour. It was busy! But we were able to sit outside and enjoy some people watching. Good happy hour deals, but not tons of you're gluten intolerant or vegetarian like me. I did order the Brussels sprouts and they are up there with my favorites now. HUGE Brussels sprouts that were cooked well, nice sauce that's not overpowering. We also ordered the charcuterie board, some nice choices of cheese and meat, but we asked what everything was and the waiter didn't know, said he'd check, never found out. My boyfriend got the meatballs and they were also enormous and he said tasted good. Tried Due Amici on a Saturday as it was one of the few places in town we could find with weekend happy hour specials. The deals are pretty good -- half off small plates and pizzas, as well as glasses of wine, beer and mules (vodka, gin, rum, whiskey or tequila). We initially made a reservation to guarantee a table, but migrated to the bar when we arrived as it seemed more lively and there was a basketball game on TV. They have 3 separate seating areas and the space is pretty big. I started with a Kentucky mule. The regular Kentucky mules come with Bulleit bourbon, but they use Jim Beam during happy hour. Our bartender, Dennis, was awesome and the service was prompt. They don't have any draft beer -- only bottles. We weren't that hungry, so decided to try the bruschetta appetizer as it sounded light. Unfortunately, it wasn't very good and I wish we would've tried something else. The crustini crackers were too small compared to the large mozzarella slices, the tomatoes were mushy, and the balsamic (which I was looking forward to the most) was drizzled over the crackers which absorbed it all and covered up the taste -- the balsamic would have been better drizzled over the mozzarella in my opinion. Had it not been half off for happy hour, I would've been extremely disappointed had I paid the full $15 for it. Despite the disappointing bruschetta, we did enjoy the vibes, and like I mentioned our bartender was awesome. I would be willing to give Due Amici another shot just based on that. And if I had to do it over again, I would order one of the pizzas. read more

We stopped by Due Amici for a girls' night prior to attending The Nutcracker at the Ohio Theatre. It was such a wonderful experience! The ambiance and atmosphere were beautiful; the food was delish; and the service was great! The only pitfall in our experience was the restroom situation (walking to the back of the restaurant, down a flight of stairs, and then down a long, random hallway). We ordered various pizzas and a salmon dish. My favorite pizza was the mushroom pizza! It was so full of flavor - the garlic oil, wild mushrooms, and ricotta really complimented the pizza well! Came here on a Friday for HH and had to wait a little as the bar area was busy. Only needed up waiting about 15 minutes though so it was okay. The food was great! I loved their chicken pesto pizza. And it heated up great as well. We then ordered the calamari, lamb chops, and meatball. The meatball was fantastic as the sauce was very good. The calimari had a delicious garlic sauce that was nice instead of the usual marinara. I don't like lamb chops, but my boyfriend said they were good too. I recently attending a Happy Hour here with a friend. It was both of our first times in this restaurant. All the staff were super nice and very attentive. The space is gorgeous. I saw online you can hold small events there -- there is a separate space that runs along the side of the building you can use. The ambiance was darker than I expected but made for a relaxing environment. We specifically chose Due Amici for their HH prices... you can get all wine pours 1/2 off, beers 1/2 off, and apps and pizzas 1/2 off. It's truly an amazing deal. We ended up ordering 2 glasses of wine, their small antipasti, and the margherita pizza. The wine was great. The assortment on the antipasti was really nice -- my only complaint was the meats on the board. All of them were decently game-y. That's more of a personal problem though so if you're into that -- you're going to be just fine. All the cheeses were delicious. Our pizza was also good -- perhaps a bit too much balsamic (it pooled in the center) but the flavors were phenomenal and they didn't hold back on the tomatoes like some marg pizzas. Between the two of us it was plenty of food and beverage with some to spare, all for under $40. Do be warned, seating for happy hour is restricted to the bar, the cocktail area (communal seating at a long table), and the patio (season dependent for obvious reasons). First or all, I had no idea this place was so close to my apartment. It's a perfect spot for date night or girls night. The servers and host were great! They were very nice and patient with my group. We started with the fried calamari which was different than your typical thick cut calamari. It was thin, crispy, and drizzled with a tastey sauce. I've been here before for networking but a friend had her bday dinner here and I was definitely curious to know if the food would be just as good despite the overall 3 star reviews on Yelp. It was empty on a Tuesday night, but they're usually closed. Happened to be open because Cats was showing next door, I think? We had the brussel sprouts, calamari, and margherita pizza as our apps. Delicious! Although the pizza was a bit bland. I also ordered the sausage diavolo as my entree. Yummy! Everything on the menu was pricey. Portion wise, it was generous. Although, quality wise? Here's what I got... - Brussels Sprouts: 7.5/10 Delicious but super unique. Goat cheese, alfredo, sweet potato, and bacon all over the brussels sprouts. The combination of all of these made it far from an average veggie dish. ($5 on happy hour!) - Chicken Pesto Pizza: 9/10 The pesto on this is chefs kiss. Would certainly get this again (and for $9 on happy hour menu!). I can't decide if I liked this pizza more than Forno though, tough choice. I only left off a point because the chicken itself could be slightly more flavored. But I came home and finished this pizza, could not resist - Chicken Parm: 9/10 Lovedddd the rosé sauce! Like vodka sauce but turned up. This dish did not disappoint. We got it split in half and it was still a great portion size to take home to enjoy later. I'm excited that I finally got to try Due Amici since I'm never really in this area of town. There's street/meter parking along with a parking lot across the restaurant that's $7. We were seated right away and it wasn't too busy for a Thursday night. Our waitress did take a long time to come around and take our orders. We ordered the spaghetti meatballs ($18) and the sausage diavolo ($24) . Our food came out within 5 minutes and our bread hadn't even come out yet. The sausage diavolo definitely had a kick! I loved that it was saucy because who wants a dry pasta. I was able to dip some of their complimentary bread in it. My friend ate her whole spaghetti and meatballs so it was good, but the meatball was a little dry. A little overpriced / expensive for pasta, but the ambiance and food is good. read more

Had a wonderful experience here for Valentine's Day weekend. We unfortunately didn't get a reservation but we took our chances and walked in for a seat at the bar. We got lucky, and had a blast! The bartender was super knowledgeable about cocktails and did a fantastic job tending to everyone's needs. The restaurant was beautiful and decorated for the holiday, the menu has something for everyone and everything is super tasty and well priced for what you get. We were pleasantly surprised with our bill to see that there is a happy hour discount for "pizza + app" so our calamari and margherita pizza rang up cheap! The cocktails we also gorgeous and well balanced with a good selection of wine too. So glad we risked our chances. We really enjoyed our happy hour here! And what great happy hour deals. Unlike most places, Due Amici's happy hour is also on the weekends! 3pm-6:30pm Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri, and Sat. Monday is half off bottles of wine. All other nights you get half off small plates and pizzas, and wines by glass, beer and Moscow mules. The inside is nice, and they have a small patio. We got the calamari which was good. Initially I was a little sad to see no lemon garnish, but the aioli is acidic enough. The pizza was really good! I would recommend the mushroom pizza. read more
