Lindey's was a great choice for our anniversary dinner. They surprised us with complimentary champagne to celebrate, which was a really thoughtful touch and started the evening off right. Our server, Jakov, was outstanding. He was professional, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. I ordered the filet, which was cooked perfectly and was one of the better steaks I've had in Columbus. My fiancée ordered the salmon and really enjoyed it as well. We also shared the Caesar salad, enjoyed a couple of espresso martinis, and finished with the Post Mortem brownie sundae. Really lovely date night on a quick few day visit down to cbus from Cleveland! We ordered the potstickers as a starter which were fantastic, really flavorful and a good portion where we each got to have multiple My boyfriend ordered the shrimp angel hair (which I had my eye on as well) and really enjoyed it, ended up being more food than it looked like and he thought it was very good. I got the crab cake as well as a side of fries for us to share. The fries were great, could have used a little salt, and the crab cake was very good, very flavorful, but definitely a pretty small plate for almost $30 Service was good and attentive but we definitely did feel like the meal went pretty fast, not so much that we were rushed but just that I would have been really ok with the courses being a little more spread out. We came in for a reservation for my girlfriend's birthday on Saturday the 13th. We had been to Lindey's before, but had never sat on the patio, so we were excited. However, we were left disappointed, sad, and surprised by our experience. My food came out first. This would not have been a problem if not for the series of events that followed. Many minutes later, her food came out too, yet it was the wrong dish. Shrimp pasta instead of steak. We waited again. Eventually we were told by our server in a very unserious, almost joking voice, "I saw a filet in the kitchen, so it should be out soon." Her steak came out about 15 minutes after she had already gotten the wrong dish, while mine had gotten cold. Our server told us that the kitchen accidentally put Demi glaze on the steak, which my girlfriend had requested to be left off. Instead of apologizing for this mistake, Our server emphasized, "Don't worry, I had them sear [the glaze] off." Hearing that surprised me, her steak was over-charred, like the sauce had literally been burned off. Disappointing remedy to a simple mistake, and what a strange way of putting it by our server. What made all of this even worse was the way in which our server Kendall handled this matter. Her attitude got significantly worse following this mishap. She was extremely unapologetic, not offering any apology to either of us. Mind you, I had patiently waited well over 15 minutes with cold fish in front of me for my girlfriend's blackened steak to come out. When my girlfriend had a chance to taste her food, Kendall dropped by to say, "I think we have the best mashed potatoes in the city, what do you think of them?" Blatantly blowing off the fact that my girlfriend's steak was obviously screwed up, and my food had sat for over 15 minutes at the table before hers arrived. As my girlfriend was nearing the end of her food, Kendall stopped by again to add that "We're powering through it." What an odd thing to say to someone who's eating what was clearly a subpar, unsatisfactory plate of food, especially with Kendall being very aware that it was my girlfriend's birthday! I've never in my life been treated in such a passive-aggressive, unapologetic way by a server. Neither of us are one to complain or be rude in a restaurant, both of us having worked in restaurants for years. I'll add that the food on its own would have been fantastic, but the delays had caused it to be cold, and her steak was blackened. I was genuinely left speechless by the way we were treated by Kendall. I also believe that any attempt at a remedy from Kendall could have salvaged this dinner, but her attitude and targeted, passive-aggressive apathy made it so much worse. I went to Lindey's for my birthday and it honestly felt like the perfect place to celebrate. The service is what stood out to me the most, it's definitely more upscale, but not in a way that feels intimidating. Everyone is super attentive, knowledgeable and just makes the whole experience feel really special, which is exactly what you want for something like a birthday dinner. A lot of people mention how consistent and professional the staff is, and I completely get why. The inside is also so nice. It has that classic, elegant vibe with white tablecloths and really pretty lighting, but still feels warm and not too over-the-top. It's one of those places where you instantly feel like you should be celebrating something. I've also been for brunch and their brunch menu is really good. Definitely not just basic options. One of my favorite restaurants in Columbus! Really love coming here, and the only bad thing I can say about the place is that it takes several weeks to get a reservation for the weekend. The service and interior design make you feel like you're at a five star restaurant in Paris. We ordered a bottle of wine which was delicious and I highly recommend just so you have some time to take in the restaurant ambiance before or after your dinner. Our server Misako was very attentive. I had the steak frites which were delicious. They also served us bread, so if you're not starving, you're probably fine with an entrée and the bread service. Overall, this is a must visit if you're in Columbus. It is tucked perfectly in German village so you feel like you're somewhere in Europe. Lindey's is the best tried and true restaurant. In the city. There isn't a local that whenever you bring up Lindey's doesn't go "oh yea". Because we all know. Lindey's is great! Solid fine dining in the heart of German Village. From walking up to the brightly lit front entrance, through the beautiful bar and through the restaurant- they are classic. It's not noises and overwhelming, the lighting is perfect and the food is always perfect. Pricing isn't over rated - the food is quality. I've been so many times - I can name a few things; Caesar salad, French onion soup, calamari, steak, and chicken dishes. Great quality pasta (I'm Italian). They just opened another spot at Easton called Bar Italia - equally as fantastic. Lindey's is known for their back patio - it is HARD to get seated during warmer months out there. If you get to- you are one of the lucky ones. The only time I have been on their patio was during German Village Lights when they open their patio bar. It is CROWDED. lol Parking is a little tough, unless you live around here and know where to park. Valet service is suggested. Around Lindey's are two cute boutique shops, as well as Club 185 a few blocks down for a night cap. Enjoy the best in the city! read more

This was a nice place with a great atmosphere and great service, but the food was kind of a miss for me. It was kind of an old-school classic restaurant with a dark atmosphere. The waiter was engaging and was making recommendations on what people typically get. I had a few cocktails but nothing really wowed me with them. They weren't bad but just weren't hitting right. The bar didn't have something one of the guys at the table wanted and the waiter really didn't know what it was, but it was a common liquor. They had trouble finding a suitable substitution. And it figures it was the guest we were trying to impress (gotta love business dinners, right?) Food wise, the Lobster Risotto was more of a shrimp risotto. The description did say it had shrimp, but just call it Shrimp and Lobster Risotto and be straight up about it. The description definitely oversold it. Trickery doesn't work in the food industry. It was a good experience, but I don't think I'd go back here if I had to have a nice dinner in Columbus. Lindsey's always came highly recommended since we moved to Columbus and we finally made it! They had complimentary valet. We made a reservation and was seated promptly. The only downside of the whole experience was where our table was located we were right next to the hostess booth so we could hear everything going on and lots of servers and hostesses just around the area made it a little less intimate of an experience. But our server Sarah was very nice! We started out with the chicken and mushroom potstickers, lobster bisque and the kale salad. Entree wise I got the seabass and overall it was good just lacked salt. My husband got the halibut. We ended off with the sundae which was HUGE! We couldn't finish it. Perfect spot for a special occasion, which my friends and I came for a birthday celebration. Got to try the steak frites and chilean sea bass, which both my bf and I both liked the sea bass a lot more. I've honestly never had fish and veggies that tasted SO good like that before. The fries that came with the steak tasted too much like McDonald's fries and the steak itself was just ok. If you're indecisive about which dessert to get, please get their brownie. Dinner last night with my son, which was a recommendation of a business colleague of his that lives in the Columbus area. Great choice! Fantastic patio on a pleasant evening, although the interior has lots of character. Incredibly friendly staff with no exception. Our server, Megan (see photo) was delightfully engaging, made spot on recommendations, was genuinely friendly, and seemed interested in making sure that my son and I enjoyed our dinner. I will not soon forget my dining experience at this restaurant. Pot stickers were a great way to get started - nice presentation and very tasty. Delicious Pinot Noir, and I let Megan make the specific selection -- nicely done Megan -- and she also recommended the chopped salad, which was full of flavor and you can get a half portion. I also had a cup of the bisque, which was very tasty, although, candidly, I did not like the small cup-like bowl that it was served in. I had the lamb chops, three of them, which were double chops, very large portion and incredibly well seasoned and delicious. The spinach and potato offering was a nice compliment to the lamb. My son had the New York strip and shared a piece with me. He loved it, and I would say it was a very good piece of meat. Bread and a cracker like item, served with delicious butter that was whipped was a nice ad, and I appreciated that more was offered without request. No room for dessert, but the Spanish cappuccino was delicious. Atmosphere on the patio was phenomenal and I would highly recommend sitting outside if it's a nice evening. Three cheers for the entire staff, and chef, and another shout out to Megan who made a great dining experience even more memorable. By the way, this place is not inexpensive, but it is good value, quality food, and well worth the price in my opinion. read more

I ordered the vanilla latte which was excellent and the crab and egg with was amazing. The portion size was filling. The chicken sandwich was also filling, very crispy and juicy. Okay, well, first observation as an out-of-towner is that this is clearly where all the hot people in Columbus go to eat, because damn. Bring your A game, diners. I definitely felt a bit underdressed in jeans and a blouse, as this is one of those places where even the waitstaff wear white shirts and ties. We were bummed that the much-vaunted patio was closed the evening we visited, but that was the beginning and end of any disappointment because Lindey's is fabulous. From the (increasingly rare these days) free basket of piping hot, pillowy bread, to the lemony chicken with bright spring veg, and decadent "post mortem" chocolate cake crowned with coffee ice cream and drowning in hot fudge, each course brought out the oohs and aahs. Most dishes are on the pricy ($35+) side, but the portions are generous. We had wine, but I liked that--at least by description--the cocktail options seemed to be on the creative side with more complexity in the flavors than just overly sweet fruitiness. If I'm lucky to come back next time I'm in the area, I'll give one of those a try. Other stray notes: noise level was high, even at 8:30 pm on a weeknight, so be prepared for that. Lighting is dim, but they have lamps at each table. Nice big bar, which did seem to have a TV. An abundance of wait staff, though service still was a tad on the slow side. We had a great experience at Lindey's! They have valet parking which was very convenient and it's in the cutest area in German Village. Definitely would recommend getting a reservation unless you plan to sit at bar area! Our server was with us promptly and was very friendly. We ordered calamari to start and it was delicious and very fresh. I got the risotto for my main course, and it was also very good and had a generous portion. The building is charming, the Staff is Friendly and responsive and they have VALET parking, which is awesome because parking is hard to find in German Village (awesome neighborhood). Service, from hostess to server, to bussers, was as good as it gets. Our server, Lisa, was fabulous! Intuitive, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive. The food was all perfect. Gorgeous and delicious, we enjoyed everything! Cocktails were great, and the wine list isn't extensive, but it's really good. Plenty of wines by the glass are offered. The service was decent, they were making weird comments about my friends Gluten Free chicken right next to us like we couldn't hear them. The server we had did disappear for awhile. My wife, son, and I thoroughly love food, preparing food, and trying new recipes. Admittedly, our cooking environment is at home, NOT in a "production" environment dealing with the whims/needs of random customers. The event we celebrated a few days ago at Lindey's was our son's graduation from OSU with his Masters in Public Health. My wife & I drove from the Dayton area and our daughter drove in from Athens, OH. Upon entering Lindey's shortly after 4PM on a Friday, my initial impression was NOISE. LOTS & LOTS of NOISE. OVERWHELMING NOISE. On top of the loud customer conversations bouncing off the hard surfaces (pressed tin ceiling & hard walls) was some sort of music being played in the dining area. With this much ambient NOISE, no further ambient music needs to be added by Lindey's. The ambient noise level is sufficient that guests at my table were having difficulty being heard & hearing/understanding others at our same table. Just to see if I am being delusional with my noise concerns, I'd invite you to Google "Lindey's Columbus noise." TripAdvisor's top result says "Noise level os a bit much with so many conversations going on at once." Yelp says "Moderate noise." Mindtrip says "The restaurant can be quite noisy, making conversation difficult. Some diners have found it hard to hear others at their table, especially in the bar area." The noise level ruins what should be a quiet, peaceful, wonderful environment. I suspect that softening some of the reflective surfaces will be needed. PARKING: As a visitor not familiar with the German Village, I truly appreciate the valet parking. It makes it a very simple thing to pull up to Lindey's, hand over the key fob, and enter the restaurant. SERVICE: Impeccable. Our server was friendly, inviting, attentive, and KNEW her "stuff." Her recommendation for my wife's dry Riesling and our menu choices were all "spot-on." From the time we entered Lindey's to the time we left, there was NOTHING lacking in the level of service we received. BATHROOM: I used their facilities during my visit. The roll of toilet tissue was almost empty. Luckily, I found the "spare" supplies in a black box overhead. I pulled out a spare roll of toilet tissue for the future visitors. A guest at Lindey's should not need to do this. FOOD: Overall, quite delicious. My party of five had three orders of "Tournedos of Beef", an order of "Steak Frites", and an order of "Salmon." My daughter loved her salmon. My son loved his Steak Frites, remarking on the flavorful steak sauce. The remaining three party members (me, my darling wife of 30 years this August, and a friend of my daughter) loved the Tournedos of Beef. ALL beef dishes were perfectly cooked...Flavorful, juicy, and tender. Even though I'm not a person who seeks out Bearnaise sauce, I found it smooth, creamy, rich, and tangy. Quite delicious. The asparagus was EXCELLENT. Nice thick spears, cooked to a crisp/tender consistency, delicious grilled flavor. Onion Straws.....nobody in my party mentioned them. I found them to be bland, limp, flavorless, and unimpressive. Buttermilk Chive Mashed Potatoes....this was the main disappointment of my dinner. My wife ate all her mashed potatoes. The other two servings (for me & a family friend) were left to be discarded after a few bites. DISAPPOINTING. They were smooth, creamy, and had a nice butter flavor. Unfortunately, they were ruined by a "heavy hand" with the salt dispenser and inadequate post-prep tasting. Potential HINT for the future...if the server notes that a specific item has been left on the plate at the end of the meal, by multiple same-table customers, please consider that there might be "something wrong." I'm not sure that I'd go back, given the excessive NOISE level, the questionable quality of items, and my expectations of excellence. Three Stars is being generous. While Lindey's website offers a customer feedback form (under CONNECT, where they say "At Lindey's Restaurant & Bar, we have been creating experiences for more than three decades--we would love to hear about yours.", I submitted essentially the same feedback as is included in this post on 5/9/26. As of today (5/12/26), ZERO response. This suggests yet again that Lindey's is not responsive to customer feedback. VERY DISAPPOINTING. Lindey's needs to do better. read more

Manager Todd Cumbow falsely accused my daughter of hitting a valet car outside the restaurant. She repeatedly explained that she did not hit the car, yet we were called liars and treated extremely disrespectfully. The situation escalated to the point where they attempted to remove us from the restaurant simply for defending ourselves. After it was confirmed that she never hit the car, there was still no apology or acknowledgment of how poorly we were treated. A manager should handle situations professionally and respectfully, especially before making serious accusations toward customers. This was one of the worst management experiences we have ever had. read more

The restaurant is located on a corner and offers valet parking or street parking. We were dropped off by uber. It has a very cute interior and an outdoor patio which was closed but looked really nice on a warm evening. The service was fantastic, our waiter was professional, knowledgeable and took good care of our table and the tables around us. The food is YUM! The calamari was so good and the sauces were a good compliment. I liked the Caesar dressing. My filet was cooked well and I loved the green beans. The standout is the dessert. Hands down one of the best tiramisus I have had, it's not traditional so don't expect lady finders but their take on it was so yummy. The crème brûlée was really good as well. Enjoy! read more

Always 5* and glad to say it was today as well, for Sunday Brunch. Our server Elena is a pro, well trained, efficient, personable. FYI. Reservations are not applicable for the patio. That's first come first serve. At 11am there were 30 people in line. Valet is free, tips only. We had the Eggs Lindey's (always excellent) and salmon dish. The Bloody's are perfect. First time going to Lindey's with my daughter that goes to OH State. We are from California and we absolutely love German village! Go early for brunch. We only had to wait a bit when they opened and got a beautiful seat next to the Koi pond. The food is excellent. We had the French toast and split it. Portions are pretty large. This place has been one of my favorites for years. While it is a little on the pricier side the experience is always worth it. With a stunning patio, this is a great place on nice days, but the inside is cute as well. The staff is always on point and the menu is top notch. We recently brought some friends from out of town here and they loved it. We started with the shrimp and calamari and it was delicious. The complimentary bread is always a hit. For my meal I got a ce salad with chicken and the French onion soup. Both of which were great. My friend got the chicken and my husband got the pork chop and they both raved about it. Lindey's is definitely the place to go for a romantic night out or celebration! The decor is beautiful, with chandeliers and paintings all around. As for appetizers, the burrata paired really well with watermelon pico and toasted sourdough; it was such a refreshing way to start the meal. Our waiter was super sweet and let us know a pro tip, which is that you can do half portions of most of their entrees so you can try more items! The lobster risotto was such a comforting dinner item. It was a porridge like rice dish with shrimp, lobster, asparagus, cheese, and herbs. I asked them to add freshly ground black pepper for extra spice. If you want some meat and potatoes, tournedos of beef is an excellent choice. The filets were super tender and the mashed potatoes and crispy onion straws really filled me up! The NY Strip Steak is a classic option, and you can choose a side from whipped potatoes to green beans and broccolini. The potato pave had a great texture. The steak paired well with a glass of Shiraz If you're into coffee and chocolate, the Lindsey's Post Mortem will hit the spot. It had a mountain of coffee ice cream sitting on a chocolate brownie and topped with warm, kahlua hot fudge. The hot fudge made it super sweet so this one is definitely for the sweet tooths out there! Although the heat wave is real right now, I'd love to go back on a cooler night to enjoy the patio!
