AMBIANCE Parking: Welcome to El Lay, it gets packed. Your best bets are street parking some metered parking but definitely do public transit if it's offered. Seating: They have some tables for you to chill but other than that, it's a good grab and go spot to just enjoy the Olvera Street atmosphere. Vibes: Los Angeles is very unique as no parts of the city are the same. This pays roots to the Hispanic roots. Eating here feels like eating a piece of Los Angeles history. You're surrounded by colorful market stalls, mariachi music, and the energy of Olvera Street, the experience is about more than just the food. This isn't a flashy restaurant--it's a historic food stand that has earned its reputation through consistency, tradition, and community. Great place for a quick food adventure - fulfilling an appetite or taking a bite out of history. FOOD Original Taquitos & Avocado Sauce (Recommend) You got to explore the hype while you're here right? The taquitos had a good crisp on the outside while the shredded beef inside remained tender and flavorful. The sauce was nothing too flashy but I guess it was ahead of it's time. A mix of guac and soothing creamy avocado flavors. It helps bring a tangy yet packed bite in your tortillas. CUSTOMER SERVICE Friendly and awesome! Straight business and good service. TL;DR OVERALL 4 Stars. Good selections, reasonable prices, and a pleasant experience. As a long term resident in the City of Angels, it's an honor to try a part of history. Nothing too flashy but a great place to experience. till next time, Cielito Lindo! TIPS * Visit while exploring Olvera Street so you can enjoy the surrounding shops and history.

Walking over from Union Station is super easy, it's maybe a 5 minute walk. A few of us had heard amazing things about Cielito Lindo and how they have the BEST taquitos, so we were all excited. Luckily we got there right before the lunch rush so there was no line. They have a tiny alcove of an outdoor dining room, and we were able to snag enough tables and chairs (took up half the room) for all of us. They cook the taquitos to order so it took quite awhile for all of us to get our food. We all got the famous taquitos and some of us also got the combo with tamales. I was a tamale girl. My spinach tamale was pure mush, was it even cooked? I didn't see or taste spinach, I honestly don't know what was in it. The others who got tamales all hated them and commented that they just just wet messes. Literally none of us were wowed by the taquitos. They were very crispy and covered in the green avocado sauce, which I thought was decent, but the shredded beef inside had no seasoning and was dry. The combos come with refried beans and we all agreed the beans were the best part of the meal. The food here is pretty cheap, and I appreciate the historical aspect of it - slinging those taquitos since 1934! But it just wasn't good enough for me to ever go back, and I have definitely had better taquitos.

Amboy might be my new favorite burger spot…read more We came here to celebrate my firstborn starting kindergarten, and since he LOVES burgers, it felt like the perfect place. The burgers hellaaaa hit! Super juicy, flavorful, and huge. I could only finish half of mine, but it was so good I kept wanting to go back for another bite. Such a fun little celebration spot for us, and definitely somewhere we'll be coming back to. If it's your first time, go for the Slim Thicc if you want that big, thick, ridiculously juicy burger. The Classic Double is great if you're more of a smashburger person. Also prepare for a wait. We came on a weekday afternoon and there was a decent line which was surprising.

Upon arrival, we were told the DH burger is available. So we waited another 28 minutes for it. Kind of annoying that it wasn't available on their website for ordering. Yes, I get that it's limited but logistically, the management need to be able to update inventory throughout the day. Double cheeseburger: 4.5/5, amazing. Quality is there, even the ground beef itself is nice. Hefty and worth the money ($16). DH burger: you absolutely do taste the difference from the regular cheeseburger. They use better quality meat, there's no hiding that at all. LOVE the fried skirt all around. For $22, it does sound steep but price per value, it's absolutely worth it. Minus the wait time and logistics issue, this is an absolute 5 star joint. I'd ranked it currently top 3 burger spots in Southern California.

I thought this place would be hit or miss because of the mixed reviews where people are saying it's…read moreamazing and then others are saying it's horrible with not much in the middle. So I was skeptical but curious. I'm pleased to say it was actually really good. We got the koobideh wrap (very good) and a chicken and beef combo plate (also very good). The only thing I didn't try was the lamb. The meat was cooked well, not at all undercooked like the negative reviews said. The koobideh, steak and chicken all tasted well seasoned and cooked perfectly well. I'd say from those three meats my favorite was the steak, you could taste the smokiness from the charcoal which is a huge plus with kabob. I also really enjoyed the white sauce and wish I had taken more home with me for the leftovers. We didn't wait long at all like other reviews said. We got there right at 5 pm and waited maybe 20 minutes. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the tanoor samosas had flies sitting on them on the counter and there were flies all over the kitchen sitting on everything. It concerned me enough where I was worried and then decided not to eat the salad from the combo plate because I suspected it may not be well washed. Also, it was very smoky which is understandable and I wouldn't knock them for that since it's grilled street kabob but I was pretty light headed from breathing in all the smoke while waiting there so just be ready for that if you decide to go. Regardless, survey says- it was good! Staff and service was good too.

When I picked up my order, the cashier checked the order before handing it off, said to Farhod: "this was supposed to have extra rice and onion" and Farhod just waved his hand to tell her to send it off as is - without the extra rice and onion that I paid for. I've enjoyed this place, but after my experience tonight I won't be coming back. Thank you to the cashier for pointing it out. I really appreciate the effort she made to double check orders. I'm disappointed that Farhod just brushed it off.
