We came to Farhod's on a Friday night when we visited this street which is full of halal food carts. I'd say around 80% of them are offering some sort of kabob, looking mostly to be from central Asian carts. We ended up picking Farhod's because it was the most crowded and we figured that might make our food the freshest. We were able to order on a tablet, which made things easier. All being on a sidewalk definitely makes things super crowded. It's a bit hard to find seating and it's kind of chaotic - power even shut down completely right after we ordered. They were able to get the power back on with the generator, but it took what felt like forever to get our food. Seems like they serve their food somewhat like a halal cart rather than a typical Persian restaurant - salad, white sauce, red sauce, etc. We got the steak kabob plate, koobideh sandwich, and beef wrap. We enjoyed pretty much every form factor. They grill their tortillas and bread on the grill before assembling, so everything has that charcoal taste top to bottom. Salad was surprisingly cold/crunchy for a stand that had been sitting in warm weather for hours. Steak on the plate was slightly chewy but tasted fresh and had great flavor. I recommend loading up on the white sauce, red sauce has good flavor too and isn't super spicy. Also liked the self service radishes, grilled jalapeños, and lemons. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, aside from the long wait and some slightly questionable food handling practices. Prices are not as low as you'd expect for a street cart, but the food was good and portions were large. read more

It all comes together nicely and the taste is 9.5/10, delicious. The price is high - $30 for a rib eye wrap and $20ish for koobideh wrap. Food is made to order so expect to wait around a while and explore the neighboring stalls. Would come back, the food was delicious. Online ordering was not working when I tried, so had to go there to place the order and wait. I thought this place would be hit or miss because of the mixed reviews where people are saying it's amazing and then others are saying it's horrible with not much in the middle. So I was skeptical but curious. I'm pleased to say it was actually really good. We got the koobideh wrap (very good) and a chicken and beef combo plate (also very good). The only thing I didn't try was the lamb. The meat was cooked well, not at all undercooked like the negative reviews said. The koobideh, steak and chicken all tasted well seasoned and cooked perfectly well. I'd say from those three meats my favorite was the steak, you could taste the smokiness from the charcoal which is a huge plus with kabob. I also really enjoyed the white sauce and wish I had taken more home with me for the leftovers. We didn't wait long at all like other reviews said. We got there right at 5 pm and waited maybe 20 minutes. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the tanoor samosas had flies sitting on them on the counter and there were flies all over the kitchen sitting on everything. It concerned me enough where I was worried and then decided not to eat the salad from the combo plate because I suspected it may not be well washed. Also, it was very smoky which is understandable and I wouldn't knock them for that since it's grilled street kabob but I was pretty light headed from breathing in all the smoke while waiting there so just be ready for that if you decide to go. Saw a viral video of this street food on IG, in downtown LA, next to a bridge, street vibes, a bit of a Brooklyn feel, so I had to swing by and try it. The kebabs being grilled looked wonderful and well-marinated. It's a long street stand with an electronic ordering system monitor in the middle. The man himself, Farhod, stands around the middle and cuts fine looking pieces of already grilled meat, to create platters and wraps for the customers. My friend and I asked him for a recommendation and he said we must try a ribeye plate, so we ordered a plate each. It took about 30 minutes for the plates to be prepared, as this place is busy. Right before the plates are given out and if you're standing by your plate, their signature move is to slice off a strip of ribeye and let you taste it right before receiving your plate. Nice touch! Each plate came with delicious rice, very fresh tasty salad, a crispy, very yummy large pita bread and a good size portion of the ribeye itself. Although the ribeye was pretty juicy, both me and my friends thought that the meat was over salted, in fact we even left some ribeye behind. Maybe it's a one-off, since these ribeyes came highly recommended, but that was our experience last night. Would consider coming back here to try their whet looked like a beautifully marinated, succulent chicken kebab. Parking situation is a bit crazy, with many cars double parking, but I guess the local police allow it, so no issues there. The customer service was pretty good. Will visit again. read more

I've enjoyed food from Farhod multiple times. Tonight, I decided to order my plate with extra rice and extra onion - which I paid extra for. When I picked up my order, the cashier checked the order before handing it off, said to Farhod: "this was supposed to have extra rice and onion" and Farhod just waved his hand to tell her to send it off as is - without the extra rice and onion that I paid for. I've enjoyed this place, but after my experience tonight I won't be coming back. Thank you to the cashier for pointing it out. I really appreciate the effort she made to double check orders. I've came here several times in the past and this last time was just not the same. They open at 5pm but didn't get my order until 545. The food doesn't have the same taste and is just drenched in the sauce even when I ask for easy sauce. They are preparing food behind some tarps and flies are all over it. Who knows what else I happening back there. Some man finishes cleaning tables and is touch all the soda can tops. That's because everything is made to order, right in front of you. They skewer the meat by hand, grill it over charcoal, and refresh the grill often. The toppings are also prepped right there. It's a full process, and you can tell. By the time we reached the front, they only had two items left. The Adana beef kebab was sold out. We got the beef shish kebab and the chicken kebab. Both were phenomenal. The chicken was tender, juicy, and full of spice. The beef had this deep smoky flavor from the charcoal that made it unforgettable. You can tell how fresh everything is. It's incredible how hard it is to find delicious Turkish kebabs in L.A. There's metered parking around the block. They take cash and Apple Pay, which made things easy. If you're thinking about going, do it. It's worth the wait. They're not on Yelp, which makes them hard to find unless you've seen them on TikTok or searched them on Google, but spread the word. So when they were calling a number right after mine, I figured no big deal, maybe my order is complicated (it was 2 wraps). So now they're at least 5-6 numbers past mine. I ask where is order F354 and they legit cannot find it. I even showed them the receipt because you can text it to yourself the Clover kiosk. Long story short, I waited about 50m for my order. This is two guys set up on the street here on Figueroa just south of sunset blvd on the west side of Figueroa . They make delicious kebabs made of chicken , rib eye, lamb and possibly other meats , cooked over mesquite right here on the street , they've definitely got this thing down . The kebabs are delicious , I had the chicken kebab and it was great , very flavorful , tender chicken over basmati rice and a nice salad , they were nice and very welcoming , the food is good and has a good price point .
