Saw a viral video of this street food on IG, in downtown LA, next to a bridge, street vibes, a bit of a Brooklyn feel, so I had to swing by and try it. The kebabs being grilled looked wonderful and well-marinated. It's a long street stand with an electronic ordering system monitor in the middle. The man himself, Farhod, stands around the middle and cuts fine looking pieces of already grilled meat, to create platters and wraps for the customers. My friend and I asked him for a recommendation and he said we must try a ribeye plate, so we ordered a plate each. It took about 30 minutes for the plates to be prepared, as this place is busy. Right before the plates are given out and if you're standing by your plate, their signature move is to slice off a strip of ribeye and let you taste it right before receiving your plate. Nice touch! Each plate came with delicious rice, very fresh tasty salad, a crispy, very yummy large pita bread and a good size portion of the ribeye itself. Although the ribeye was pretty juicy, both me and my friends thought that the meat was over salted, in fact we even left some ribeye behind. Maybe it's a one-off, since these ribeyes came highly recommended, but that was our experience last night. Would consider coming back here to try their whet looked like a beautifully marinated, succulent chicken kebab. Parking situation is a bit crazy, with many cars double parking, but I guess the local police allow it, so no issues there. The customer service was pretty good. Will visit again. read more

FiIRST OF ALL. THEY GIVE YOU FLOUR TORTILLA with your meal instead of Mediterranean PITA!! SHAME ON YOU!! I EXPECTED PITA! If i want flour tortillas I can just go to a Mexican stand. Their social media advertising doesn't match their food. Veery disappointed. Had been wanting to try it for weeks until I decided to go. Ordered a lamb plate. The meat was tough and rubbery. Salad was cheap. Dressing they have in plastic bottles is sitting out in the sun causing it to spoil. I got two cups of that dressing and it tastes bad. The young girl taking orders is rude like if we she is doing us a favor. Tables are dirty. Too much social media hype. Do NOT recommend. Also a bit pricey for street food. Been coming to Farhods since way before he's gone viral. Didn't have a pleasant experience which is prompting me to write a negative review. In the beginning when it was just him the food was amazing and definitely something that would taste authentic. He's gotten so big where the lines are way out (happy for him) but he hasn't learned how to scale it successfully. Orders shouldn't take 40+ minutes when it's not peak and also the items I had were severely over seasoned. There's no consistency anymore when it's gotten super busy. Again happy for his exposure but it's just not what he was known for in the beginning. It's definitely a hit or miss now where before it was consistently delicious. read more

Food is amazing and I have gone there up to twice a week. Downside is their ticketing system. They have a cashless kiosk and it doesn't integrate well with the cash ordering. I promise you they lost my ticket. It's like when you hear numbers that are preceding yours at the DMV, it's similar to that. The anticipation. 'Now serving G456 at window #10.' So when they were calling a number right after mine, I figured no big deal, maybe my order is complicated (it was 2 wraps). So now they're at least 5-6 numbers past mine. I ask where is order F354 and they legit cannot find it. I even showed them the receipt because you can text it to yourself the Clover kiosk. Long story short, I waited about 50m for my order. So expect a long wait and maybe you'll have a better experience if you use cash. read more

The service is great and the staff is very catering while the food arrives in about 15 minutes. The plate comes in a large box loaded with yellow rice and your choice of two meats alongside a fresh salad and pita bread. I ordered the chicken and beef but the beef was a bit chewy for my taste. Next time I would stick with the chicken or try the koobideh. You can customize your meal with various sauces on the side or add lemons and jalapeños for extra heat. Baba Kebab is the real deal. We went on a Friday night and got there at 8 p.m. The line looked short, but it still took about an hour. That's because everything is made to order, right in front of you. They skewer the meat by hand, grill it over charcoal, and refresh the grill often. The toppings are also prepped right there. It's a full process, and you can tell. By the time we reached the front, they only had two items left. The Adana beef kebab was sold out. We got the beef shish kebab and the chicken kebab. Both were phenomenal. The chicken was tender, juicy, and full of spice. The beef had this deep smoky flavor from the charcoal that made it unforgettable. You can tell how fresh everything is. It's incredible how hard it is to find delicious Turkish kebabs in L.A. There's metered parking around the block. They take cash and Apple Pay, which made things easy. If you're thinking about going, do it. It's worth the wait. They're not on Yelp, which makes them hard to find unless you've seen them on TikTok or searched them on Google, but spread the word. Would not recommend. First off they throw the tortillas over the RAW chicken to heat it up before putting it in your cooked plate. My dish came with no sauce no tziki no hummus nothing. Tbh it was just alright. The service was fine, nothing special, kind of slow to be attentive. To that, it had a nice layed back and chill vibe. It took about 15 minutes for my food. Waiting there, we'd constantly be hit with the whiffs of smoke from the open grill, which got me more excited and hopeful for a good smokey flavor. When actually eating the food it was a bit disappointing. The meat was fine, only tasted that Smokey flavor here and there. This is two guys set up on the street here on Figueroa just south of sunset blvd on the west side of Figueroa . They make delicious kebabs made of chicken , rib eye, lamb and possibly other meats , cooked over mesquite right here on the street , they've definitely got this thing down . The kebabs are delicious , I had the chicken kebab and it was great , very flavorful , tender chicken over basmati rice and a nice salad , they were nice and very welcoming , the food is good and has a good price point . Support your street vendors and especially the delicious street vending spots which these guys definitely fall into. Plenty of food, I couldn't even finish the whole thing they give you two kebabs per meal and it's super good . read more

Must go spot when in DTLA and they're open until midnight. If you go at the later end, they do run out of chicken kabobs early on. We had the beef shish kabob and it def hit the spot late at night. Ordered by phone and it took 2 hours for the food to be ready, and when our food was done it just sat there and no once called our number by the time we got the food it was cold. Food was good in taste but who wants cold food after waiting 2 hours . The sauces aren't that great. I prob won't turn. I prefer Azizi. Been there twice (original location). Best eaten there as opposed to taking it to go. So far I have only gotten chicken plate. First time I tried, I called ahead but it was too challenging especially when driving (since i have to pay when placing order before an order number is given; I was hoping for a call back since that's what I have been doing but I didn't realize that a text was sent (went to an unknown folder). The place has a lot of problems. From the messy ticketing system to the average fast-food sauces. We could talk about the overcooked meats, the mediocre rice, or the fact that they use tortillas as bread. Maybe you could overlook it if the rolls were $7 and the plates $10. But places like this are a symptom of a much bigger problem: the premiumization of street food. Normalizing rubbery meat at $30 a plate from a stand in the street is self-sabotage. Good food should remain accessible. Street food is supposed to resist the tendency to turn cuisine into a luxury product. Food literacy matters. ONLY REASON FOR 3 stars: very clearly people who spoke the same language were served before us (and many others) . Their process is straightforward , you order, you pay, they put the meat on the grill , once grilled they put it in a wrap. It is very obvious when they make a wrap for someone who just got into line and quickly add more meat to the grill. And suddenly your order is reset. I got the ribeye and it did not disappoint! It was tender, grilled and seasoned perfectly. The ribeye was about 12oz. The pita bread was delicious and freshly grilled as well. The portions were generous. The white sauce is also tasty and even though it wasn't the typical yogurt/cucumber, it paired very well with the food. I expected it to take longer due to the huge crowd but the wait was only about 30 min from the time we ordered to pickup. My friend had the beef/lamb skewers which were good as well. 30 bucks for the rib eye was more than worth it. There are tables nearby so you have the option of eating outside. Drove out to a 40 minute adventure. Farhods food was excellent. My food order was set aside? #48. They were calling out #52. Hmmmm. And then me. Maybe I wasnt a regular. Prices state $25 for ribeye and $20 for lamb. I ordered 2 ribeyes and 1 lamb. Was told $80. So I payed it. But not adding up? Got home. Message Farhod and was told Ribeye I got was different. That's why the price difference. Hmmm. Price gouging? I asked for a credit for when I return. He ignored it. For $10. He has lose a customer. I will support local restaurants.
