Halal Kebab by Farhod is a standout spot located under a bridge in downtown Los Angeles. This is the original location that gained popularity on social media and it truly sets itself apart from the other food stalls nearby. The service is great and the staff is very catering while the food arrives in about 15 minutes. The plate comes in a large box loaded with yellow rice and your choice of two meats alongside a fresh salad and pita bread. I ordered the chicken and beef but the beef was a bit chewy for my taste. Next time I would stick with the chicken or try the koobideh. You can customize your meal with various sauces on the side or add lemons and jalapeños for extra heat. Despite the texture of the beef, the meal was spectacular and the chicken was a highlight.

Baba Kebab is the real deal. We went on a Friday night and got there at 8 p.m. The line looked short, but it still took about an hour. That's because everything is made to order, right in front of you. They skewer the meat by hand, grill it over charcoal, and refresh the grill often. The toppings are also prepped right there. It's a full process, and you can tell. By the time we reached the front, they only had two items left. The Adana beef kebab was sold out. We got the beef shish kebab and the chicken kebab. Both were phenomenal. The chicken was tender, juicy, and full of spice. The beef had this deep smoky flavor from the charcoal that made it unforgettable. You can tell how fresh everything is. It's incredible how hard it is to find delicious Turkish kebabs in L.A. There's metered parking around the block. They take cash and Apple Pay, which made things easy. If you're thinking about going, do it. It's worth the wait. They're not on Yelp, which makes them hard to find unless you've seen them on TikTok or searched them on Google, but spread the word. It's truly a gem. I've already shared this with friends and reposted the TikToks. This spot deserves the hype.

I ordered the beef and chicken plate and omg the food was amazing! The service was nice and thankfully there wasn't a lot of people but I loved the fact that our food was made at the moment of ordering. For the price the portion was more than I thought it would be.. couldn't finish it.. The beef and chicken was cooked on point and the rice and salad was amazing! The bread was amazing also The sauce that was added was delicious too.. I would come back

Would not recommend. First off they throw the tortillas over the RAW chicken to heat it up before putting it in your cooked plate. My dish came with no sauce no tziki no hummus nothing. The plate is a mess and I won't be eating it. Waited a half hour for this. Nope nope! The meat is so tough it's not edible at all! Like this was a waste of 17 dollars! If you can't get rice salad and meat right.... What can you do?

Too many food safety violations to count. Lack of refrigeration for raw meat, cross contamination in the prep station, condiments above cold holding temperatures, etc.

Tbh it was just alright. The service was fine, nothing special, kind of slow to be attentive. To that, it had a nice layed back and chill vibe. It took about 15 minutes for my food. Waiting there, we'd constantly be hit with the whiffs of smoke from the open grill, which got me more excited and hopeful for a good smokey flavor. When actually eating the food it was a bit disappointing. The meat was fine, only tasted that Smokey flavor here and there. I felt the ingredients were fresh and at that they're good, but the flavor itself was kind of lacking. Just felt like ingredients thrown together but no strong combination of flavor to take it home

This is two guys set up on the street here on Figueroa just south of sunset blvd on the west side of Figueroa . They make delicious kebabs made of chicken , rib eye, lamb and possibly other meats , cooked over mesquite right here on the street , they've definitely got this thing down . The kebabs are delicious , I had the chicken kebab and it was great , very flavorful , tender chicken over basmati rice and a nice salad , they were nice and very welcoming , the food is good and has a good price point . Support your street vendors and especially the delicious street vending spots which these guys definitely fall into. Plenty of food, I couldn't even finish the whole thing they give you two kebabs per meal and it's super good .

Must go spot when in DTLA and they're open until midnight. If you go at the later end, they do run out of chicken kabobs early on. We had the beef shish kabob and it def hit the spot late at night. I would def come here again late night. It's a grab and go spot and they're pretty fast unless they have a large order ahead of you. The staff is super friendly. Def check it out!

I ordered the carne asada tacos and the brisket tacos and both were soooo delicious! They have a self serve toppings and salsa bar, so you can customize your tacos to what you liked. I'm a big fan of spicy foods and my tolerance to spice is pretty high, but the red salsa has a kick to it--so be warned. This spot is super casual but has a very large setup. Service here is very efficient and they are open 24/7 so there's no limit as to when you can get your taco fix. There's plenty of parking which gets extra points in my book, especially because that's typically hard to find in the area. There aren't any tables to eat at, but a lot of people ate standing or by their parked cars. If I could give this spot more than 5-stars I would. If you come here, trust me, you won't be disappointed.

It is a 24 hour spot so anytime I'm enjoying a night out I need a quick snack or a meal, I stop by here. Their lines go pretty quickly if you're visiting during meal times, but they have their whole set up to be as efficient as possible. When ordering, you'll go up and order your items I always get tacos, but I've heard the other items are delicious as well. You get one free potato per person and I highly recommend grabbing one. Once you grab your potato, you'll head over to the cashier while you'll pay for your items. If you want any drinks, you can order it as well. Once you're finished paying, they have a salsa bar with onions and cilantro and limes. My usual is their Al pastor tacos! It's a tried and true method for me. Note that there isn't any seating, most people stand up and eat or head back to their car and eat on their trunks or inside their car. There's trash cans all around and I believe there are some porta potties. It's a great spot to hit up if you're hungry and need some tacos in your life. Make sure you clean up after yourself. This is a great spot!

The taquitos are iconic, the avocado sauce is legendary, and it's one of those classic Los Angeles spots that has built its reputation for a reason. Unfortunately, I'm leaving a 1-star review because you can't eat food from a restaurant that isn't open. As of June 16, 2026, this location has appeared to be closed for approximately the last month. Google, Yelp, and other online sources continue to show operating hours, yet every time I've stopped by, the restaurant has been closed. There are construction barriers and no clear explanation posted regarding when or if it will reopen. The most frustrating part is the lack of communication. If the business is temporarily closed for construction, renovations, permitting issues, or any other reason, customers deserve accurate information. Updating business hours online or posting a notice would save people unnecessary trips. So, to anyone reading this: the food deserves 5 stars, but I would strongly recommend calling ahead before making a special trip. Based on my experience over the past month, do not rely on the posted hours. I genuinely hope they reopen soon because Los Angeles would be better for it. Until then, potential customers should know that the information currently listed online does not appear to reflect reality.

So getting back to Amboy...This vital burger spot was exactly like in all the other videos I've seen and it didn't disappoint. We got the DH, Amboy Burger, regular fries and truffle fries. That's a lot of food for two people and well worth the price. The DH is as big as you could imagine. They cook it medium rare, which I love...that beast of a burger was so juicy, they should hand out gloves when eating it or at least a 3" high stack of napkins! You have a slight dry aged taste to it, but I am partial to the really funky dry aged. I am talking 45-60-100 day dry aged steaks, but this was just as good for a hamburger. The truffle fries were massive and could easily feed 3 people, maybe 4. We got there just in time to get the corner booth table and watch the line get longer and longer. The Amboy itself was good, nothing special and it reminded me of Bob's Big Boy hamburger sauce, which was a good memory to get back to. I think the most unique aspect are the heavily, sesame seeded buns. They were very soft, but held up to the DH 1/3# burger patty very nicely. And another thing...It all looks exactly as in the other videos. The service was excellent! The cashier was so nice, patient and walked us through the menu. Our burger came out first and we almost ended up finishing the whole thing before our fries came out. We were blown away from the Amboy. I ordered the Fancy next, to go. Not the same wow factor. I thought it was because I got to go but, it turns out I just don't like the Fancy. It is more on a bland side. I ordered the Truffle to go and it was delicious! My new favorite for sure. Cons: They do not tell you when your to go order is ready. You just need to go and pick it up at your selected time. I think orders are completed earlier because my past 2 to go orders were not hot, barely warm. Better to experience in person OR if you are ordering to go when you get there vs in advance.

I've had my brother and several friends say that it's good and since we were closer to this area for a pop up event, we dropped by and I finally had a chance to try it. We visited during the final game of the World Cup, so there was no more indoor dining, but there's a couple bench tables outside at the side of the building. Part of the building shades over the seating, so even on a pretty hot day, this worked in a pinch and there was a slight breeze too, thank goodness. Staff was helpful and and answered our questions. They also brought our order out to the tables outside, which was nice. They also took our trash and tray back when we were done too. Each table has ketchup, brown and spicy mustard if need be. Inside, you order and pay at the cashier, grab a number, and they bring it to you. There's a bunch of sausage links on display, as well as the sodas and you can see some of the beer that they have too. For our Sunday lunch, we got the: 1) Sunset Zero soda: -It's an imported German soda. Love that there's a zero sugar version. It's a citrus cola with ending vanilla notes. Way better than some of the orange Pepsi/Pepsi Fire they ran in the past. Nice to try. 2) Rattlesnake & Rabbit with Jalapeno Peppers: -Unique combination of predator and prey meats all encased into one sausage. Also, not often you can get these meats as well. -Slight spicy kick to it from the jalapenos and rich, buttery texture of the meats together. -Each hot dog comes with 2 toppings and we got caramelized onions and sauerkraut with this which added a nice sour and sweet taste to it too. -I liked this the most of the 2 of them. 3) Pheasant with Herbs de Provence: -Nice savory flavor, but I was a fool and ordered this with the sweet and spicy peppers as a topping since they were different from the other toppings we got and I mostly just tasted the bitter aftertaste of the peppers that sort of overpowered the meats. My mistake if anything since the bites with just meat and mustard were delicious. 4) Groot of Belgian Fries: -Huge serving, way too much for 2 people especially with 2 hot dogs and we sadly could not finish it, but at the very least it came with 2 dipping sauces. -Before ordering this, I didn't groot referred to anything other than a Marvel character. -Fries had a rich, deeper flavor than standard fries, nice slight crispiness. We got it with curry ketchup and sundried tomato mayo. The tomato mayo was fine, definitely a lighter flavor and since the fries tasted so rich on their own, I feel like the curry ketchup was a more flavorful and better match. I love a good hot dog, so being able to try it with more exotic meats, flavors, and sauces makes it definitely worth stopping by.

The fries were fluffy inside but I wish they were a little crispier. I also loved their beer selection and they let us sample a few before ordering. If you go definitely get the Kasteel Tropicale!!
