The only thing I can say something good about is the food. Not worth the money but still pretty tasty. The reason I'm giving one star is really because the of the worst service I've ever experienced. The waitress was incredibly rude and never paid any attention to my table. There were 3 other male waiters that were just completely oblivious to the world. I have been to Duet 5 times in the past month.. twice for brunch and 3 times for lunch/dinner. I really like their brunch! Their food in general is natural, creative and all of the right flavors seem to come together. They have a wonderful selection of coffee and other drink beverages (including fresh juices and alcoholic drinks). Their main flaw is their service- the venue is understaffed and the presentation of the same dish is not always consistent (as I found out by being there so many times recently). The last time that I was here was for a 10-people banquet last weekend and a lot of our "add-ons" were forgotten about. Also- the brunch banquet is not really worth it... just order off the menu individually and get a few extra salads for the table to share. This place was in the running as a top contender in a event that I want to hold in the near future but due to the service recently I will be going with a different venue. With all of that being said... the chef truly is a creative genius and has a magnificent way of making the food healthy, colorful, appealing and tasty. This remains my go-to place for brunch with another 1-2 people (small group), or pit stop for coffee when I'm in the area. I wanted to do something really cool for my sister on her 35th birthday, I wanted a dull yellow cake with very dark blue tulips that faded into black... Really dark, hip, sexy and all the things she loves instead I got a cake that was brightly colored as if for a child and ivory colored flowers your grandma would love. My cake had a serious identity crisis. I paid $375 for a customized caked that was nothing like I spoke about with the "designer". Besides the point, I called the next day to tell them that these were not the details we spoke about and was greeted with huge attitude how the cake is wonderful. Naturally I got angry, and then was told that she, the owner is older than me, she has grandchildren, and I have to respect her. No empathy, no care in the world that she ruined my vision for the cake that was supposed to set the whole theme, instead looked so awkward. When I mentioned why the flowers were white, I was told that they are not white, they are ivory. Don't come here for customer service. Super moist cupcakes! Small bakery with big taste. Although I only tried the sweets, they have a selection of savory foods as well. The salads look quite tasty and they cater! I walked in here after the gym to try it out and get some breakfast with 2 other friends on a Saturday morning . There's a few tables when you walk in and a whole other room with lots of tables which at the moment was being set up for a private party .. as I walk in to get seated the ignorant staff are just staring at us , I asked if I can get seated and they were just looking at us speechless.. I asked again can you seat us or no, she said no I don't think so there are no tables, I said so we can't eat here, she replied NO there are no tables .. Came here for brunch. Had very high hopes as it's local. I think this place is going to be very good eventually and I'll come back and update review, but here's the review. The food was decent. Nothing special at all and some dishes were not seasoned at all or properly. The eggs Benedict needed salt. The spinach was bland. The tuna tartar was waterlogged. The drinks were mixed, one was good. One was awful. The decor is great. This review is based on the engagement party cake that duet made for me. I came into the bakery which is located in mill basin and was pleased with how nice the decor is. Diana came out and spoke to my parents and I about what flavor,design, and color I wanted for the cake. We agreed on a design which was to include a quilted texture on light pink fondant with flowers adorning the side. We also agreed on red velvet as a flavor. Diana was very attentive during our initial meeting, she wrote down all the design ideas and the flavor we had chosen down in her iPad. Needless to say I was happy with the way the meeting went and was super excited to see what this $400 cake was going to look like! So on the night of my party they bring the cake out and I was extremely disappointed. There was no quilting design on the cake, it was very small and not at all what we discussed. The flavor of the cake did indeed taste yummy, but we paid and agreed upon a certain design which was not delivered. Needless to say I did not use this bakery for my wedding cake as I did not need the added stress of hoping that the design that I want for my cake will actually be done or not. read more

I'm rating this for what it is because they might call it an American dining restaurant, but in reality it's ran by Russians and they might not be as formal and professional as others but there food is really good if you have to wait an extra 15 minutes for the server you should calm yourself and wait like a human being, food is great get the skirt steak, it's the only skirt steak that I have ever liked with there great bbq sauce and they have a nice French onion soup my only problem with the soup if that I'm not sure if they put a normal piece of bread or not because it supposed to be toasted, in all the foods great maybe one or two bad things on the menu and the service is ok but if you have to wait just wait for you server because writing a review on yelp isn't going to make him come any faster read more

I looked for a restaurant that served brunch and was easily accessible and easy to find parking. I work overnight and my co-workers and I wanted to go to a more special restaurant to take out a coworker who is leaving. After much research, we agreed in Duet. We went on a Wednesday morning at around 9-930AM. We were a party of 8 and were the very first ones there. We were pleasantly greeted by Alex who was also our server! He's pretty awesome. Attentive to our orders despite a loud rambunctious bunch, very patient, and had an overall friendly and welcoming demeanor. The place itself was beautiful. It was clean and well-lit and had the weather been warmer, we would have probably opted to sit in their outdoor eating area. The food came timely! Presentation was beautiful! Food was delicious and plentiful, especially the potatoes (garlicky heaven)! Props to the chef! The freshly squeezed juices quenches the thirst and are great especially for the season and warmer weather. THANKS again to Alex who pried himself away to assist in the freshly squeeze juices as he had to prepare 8 mason jars of different juice combinations!
