My wife Liz and I had lunch at the bar at Duffy's in Boynton Beach yesterday. It was my first visit. Liz had been there a couple of years ago. The bar was packed. The rest of the restaurant was not. They run a 2 for 1 drink special during the week, so that likely explains the crowd at the bar. The food was good. I enjoyed my meal. Liz was happy with hers as well. She prefers simple flavors, and her dish delivered exactly that. The issue was the atmosphere at the bar. An off-duty employee, based on what I overheard, sat at the bar and loudly shared a very personal story. It included profanity and private details about someone else. The bartender was deeply engaged in the conversation while also trying to work. Most people at the bar looked uncomfortable. The couple next to us was visibly irritated. It was hard to ignore. Management should not allow off-duty employees to create a disturbance for paying guests. When customers come in to relax and enjoy a meal, they should not have to listen to staff drama played out at full volume. The food was solid. The service behind the bar felt distracted. My first visit might be my last unless this kind of behavior is addressed. read more

We were a group of 10 with 5 separate checks and Alexandra served us admirably! Appetizers for the table included chicken quesadillas, pretzel with cheese dip, and spinach & artichoke dip. The favorite appeared to be the quesadillas! I ordered the blackened Mahi sandwich which was delicious and quite filling. had a great experience at Duffy's Sports Bar & Grill, and a big part of that was our server, Michael. He was friendly right from the start, super attentive without being overbearing, and made sure everything came out exactly how we wanted it. This was not an enjoyable dinner. The shepherd pie was dry... no Guinness gravy. It was dry they then brought 2 cups of sauce so WE could fix it. Kids eat free on Wednesdays. It was Trivia night and they were jamming on old rock music which was excellent. We enjoyed the music and trivia alot. Food took a little longer but that's ok. Our server was not filling up our drinks. My husband didn't get his beer until after his food had arrived and never got his second free one. Took forever to get mustard and I was left thirsty because my waitress was in Egypt. Server brought out the check. I've mentioned about my drinks, she apologized and I've mentioned the 2nd beer, she said she'll go get it now. I said no, we are leaving now. She said ok and then charges my card anyways. I don't like getting anyone involved but I asked to speak to the manager about this experience. Manager was nice, took off about $20 off the bill and gave my kids hamburger key chain to make them happy. Meanwhile the booth next to us, are sitting with dirty dishes around them and also complained about service. I went last night with a few of my friends. It was nothing too crazy. Took a few minutes, but when our server came she was very sweet and attentive Her name was Mikayla. Adorable lady she answered our questions. I know some of my friends can be a little annoying, but she handled it well. The food was good not surprising It's Duffy's. I usually go to the one more north of here, but we were in the area on the side to check it out. I'm glad we did. Came during dinner rush so didn't have high hopes but all in all a pretty good experience. The fried mushrooms are delightful and you can't go wrong with the 2-4-1 drink specials. The star of the show and the reason for the visit was The Ruben Burger- beef patty, shaved corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and I believe thousand island! I use to be a big Duffy's fan. Unfortunately, it has been going down hill for a while. Everything they had on the menu use to be good and very reasonable prices. Quality has been going down and prices up. They also keep constantly changing their menu so they can't seem to nail anything down before it's off the menu and replaced with something else. Their rewards have slowly been getting worse and worse. Their 2 for 1 happy hour is pointless when a beer costs double what it costs anywhere else. But most importantly the food has gone down hill. The only thing I still find worthwhile are the wings which they have offered since the start. I think their honey garlic wings are the best wings hands down. Everything else... meh. Had a horrible steak recently and last time I decided to give them another shot and had the worlds smallest fish tacos! It should not even be listed as an entree. Should be taco BITES or something plus switching the side from chips to corn was $3.5. My girlfriend had the mahi entree. Very small piece of mahi, I've gotten more fish in sandwiches. Her coleslaw tasted it off like it had gone bad. I'll give them 2 stars for the wings and the service is usually good, but I think my Duffy days are done. read more

When I came in I ordered French onion soup immediately. I told the waiter that I wanted the cheese well done. He came back immediately and gave me a soup that was sitting there and the cheese was just slopped on into the soup. The soup was cold and it took 5 minutes before he came back. He said he knew about it and put new one in. After waiting at least 20 minutes the soup came out and it was hot but again the cheese was just thrown on the top. Then my food came out right after that and needless to say it all came home with me. The purpose of ordering the soup the minute I came in wasn't my plan. They don't know how to make French onion soup and do it in a timely manner. Plus give you a soup that was sitting there. Not going back there again. read more
