We sat at the bar and had a nice conversation with Patrick, the bar tender. And another couple seated nearby who come here often for lunch. They had several appealing lunch specials on their lunch menu. My husband had their shepherds pie. It came in a cute ramekin with mashed potatoes and ground beef meat and veggies. He really liked it. We have been to a previous Irish restaurant occupying this space and decided to give this "New" (to us) spot a try. A large and comfy interior, we were greeted by Patrick and invited to sit anywhere. Menus and Lunch specials in hand we looked for our favorites. Patrick poured a pint of Harps for me, my favorite, cold and delicious! I chose the Shepherd's pie Lunch and my wife wanted the Fish and Chips. A short time later our dishes arrived from the kitchen, hot and steamy! I visited during happy hour on a Thursday night. It was pretty slow and we were immediately greeted and told to sit wherever we like. The bar had a good amount of people at it and the actual table seats were empty. I will say this place must be older or maybe it's just all the wooden pieces inside but it does smell like the inside of an antique store or an old wooden house. It did take a little bit for our server to come to our table at first and give us menus but after that she was the absolute kindest! Their happy hour includes some specialty drinks and domestic beers. My party got an espresso martini and Budweiser. They also have Coke products (not listed on their menu). To start, we got the appetizer of pickles and pretzels. The pickles were very good! The pretzels were good also, but not near as good as the pickles. It comes with 2 sauces, a beer cheese and a spicy ranch. In my opinion, the beer cheese only tasted good with the pretzel and the spicy ranch only tasted good with the pickles but that's actually probably how they're intended to be eaten anyway! The spicy ranch is definitely not that spicy at all either. For our meals, my party got the shepherd's pie, the meatloaf, and the dublin dip sandwich. They definitely do not skimp on portion size! All of our meals were delicious, really flavorful, and cooked great. My only critique would be the fries that came with the sandwich that were just plain. I would love them to add some type of seasoning to them in the future to make them more than just plain steak fries, but it's not like they were bad either. Of the numerous restaurant options available to you in Lake Worth, this one should be dead last on your list. Being a party of 8, arriving at 9:30 on a Friday night we waited to be sat but when no help (or even greeting) was forthcoming, we sat ourselves. Cue another 10 minute wait with no menus, no drinks, not even an "I'll be right over" until we got up and found a server. There were enough people there, but all at the bar, which was a bit iffy for us as no one was eating & we were there for early dinner. Sooo glad we stayed because the food was on point! So I rated this a bit higher than I normally would have because I really hate giving bad reviews. We stopped by on a Sunday Afternoon and they had live music... well, you could call it music but that might be a stretch. They had several groups of what looked like high school kids playing hard rock. I know that I am getting older but to say I wasn't a fan is an understatement. The musicians playing the instruments were really talented, but the singers, not so much. They were mostly just loud and more screaming than singing. Now I know how Simon Cowell felt during most of American Idol Tryouts. Most of the singers were rather flat and many times off key. I do give them credit for showing up and really putting their hearts into the show even though I bet most of the screaming fans were their parents. We were sitting at the bar and still had trouble getting the Bartender's attention. They did make a good Snakebite (Harp & Strong Bow) but other things just really weren't up to snuff. The service was so so at best. It was supposed to be happy hour and my date ordered a Spiked Strawberry Arnold Palmer that was on the happy hour menu. They didn't skimp on the alcohol but they failed to mention that Tito's was their happy hour vodka... like it matters when your putting it in with Strawberry Lemonade and Tea... Instead they put in some top shelf vodka. We are not vodka snobs and wouldn't have cared if it would have been Tito's but when the drink is twice the price you were expecting, well, it leaves a bit of a bad taste in your mouth. It seemed to take forever to get our food and it wasn't like they were swamped. Maybe it is just hard to find good help these days. The Ruben Sandwich wasn't very warm, a bit dry and just OK. The fry's were definitely not very warm. At least the place had lots of people and energy. I would give them another shot but it is just not someplace I would make a special trip for. read more

The restaurant was clean and my server was attentive. I decided on the Fish and chips and I was not disappointed. It was lightly battered and the fish was tender and flaky, served with a side of steak fries. I didn't even need to ask for malt vinegar as the server brought it. It would've been much better if it came with a small side of slaw to cut all the fried-ness but the tartar would do. This dish at the time of writing is $20 and is considered the dinner portion, which I was only able to finish half. They do have a happy hour menu of this item for $9 between 2-8pm, ordered and eaten at the bar only, which would have been a better option for me next time. Best bar in downtown Lake Worth. The live bands they have are usually very good and entertaining. For how busy the place is, they do a great job with keeping it clean. Depending on what mood you're in coming in, the place is extremely accommodating. If you want to just sit and chill, they have tons of tables. If you don't want the noise from the bands, they have a huge back bar area where it is much quieter, or you can hang at the front bar and throw a few back while listening/dancing to the music. If it's a beautiful day/night and want to sit outside, you can do that too and you can still see/hear the bands. The bartenders are super friendly, fun and quick. They really make it a great experience. Prices are reasonable. I don't really eat much when I'm there since I go later on after the kitchen closes but I have gotten their wings and Irish Egg Rolls before which were very good. Other people who told me they've eaten their other stuff said the food is very good. Over the last few years, downtown Lake Worth overall has gotten so much better to go and hangout.
