I have been coming here for over 2 years now and everyone is always inviting and friendly. The staff are amazing, the service is great, and the prices are even better. I typically get the Mahi with broccoli and sweet potato fries, however the nachos are also amazing! Every Wednesday night trivia is held at 7pm and Fridays are for karaoke. I was looking for a place to stop and eat before going to Lion Country and this is a great option.. The place was clean. Service was friendly. I ordered the 3 taco platter. I ordered mahi, chicken and shrimp. I got a steak instead of the chicken. I didn't say anything. It turned out to be a delicious mistake. The tacos were good for American style. I wouldn't order the mahi again - such a tiny piece. The steak was tender and had a delicious marinade. The shrimp were good too. The platter came with rice and beans. If you appreciate your hard earned dollar. If you are a human being of morals, principles, and integrity. Do not dine at this establishment! The owner herself is willing to lie to you to your face looking you dead in the eye, instead of acknowledgment of their mistakes and rectifying their wrongs. After ordering the same item on two separate occasions, and having it prepared incorrectly, both times, the second time when I called to rectify the issue, I was hung up on by hunter one of their bartenders... yes. Hung up on. So I decided to take my personal time to head up there and correct my stepdaughter's meal. Upon arrival, not only did the female bartender(Marissa I believe) who took my order both times become combative and argumentative, but the owner herself told me adamantly that the meal was correct. And basically called me a liar. Literally said verbatim "you're wrong". So I ordered another meal exactly like it to be paid for in order to compare. The owner took the first one that I originally brought back, and went into the kitchen and did not let me compare the two meals. I paid for the second one as I am a man of values and honor. But we all know that the chicken in the first meal was absolutely not correct. That's gonna be for them to live with. However, I will never ever in my life be returning to the establishment to give them any further business and furthermore, I will be letting everyone in the wellington area know to absolutely positively not go there if they value their hard earned dollar. She exudes it, misery radiates off her. The type of person that should not be working with the public. She just brings a dreary vibe to the whole place. I have been thinking about trying Ray's Hideaway for a while now. I really wanted to like it after reading the reviews. We decided to give them a try. I'll start by saying they have plenty of parking & tables available. Pool table also available Not much of a welcome or ambiance upon walking in. We were waiting to be seated & a server said pick any table. We placed a relatively simple order. We ordered potato skins and they came out very well done. The taco platter (3tacos & a side) was very disappointing. I order 2 steak & one shrimp. The steak had a few tiny dry shreds of steak on each. The shrimp taco had plenty of lettuce after the shrimp swam through. The side of mashed potatoes might have been the best part We also ordered a Ruben sandwich The best part of the Ruben sandwich was dressing and sauerkraut, the meat itself was dried out/overcooked big time. The side of seasoned fries were tasty and hot. Service was ehhh All & all food seemed like a bad joke according to the good reviews. We are regulars at Rays! The owner is so friendly and so are the staff! Food is always fresh and drinks are always cold! The wings are one of our favorite things to eat there. Rude, inappropriate and uncalled for is how I would describe my interaction with a server last night. I was there with my two friends spending our hard-earned money. Our appetizer was delivered by a tall, slim, white young man. I asked him if I could hand over my empty beer bottle... He looked right at me, took it from my hands and said, "I've always wanted one of these." We all know it's not what you say....It's how you say it. Ray's is in a small shopping plaza and when you walk up the windows are a little dark so you can't see inside. When we walked in we stood in the doorway for a few moments before a staff member acknowledged us. Once we were seated our waitress came to greet us, she was so sweet and really helped us to enjoy our experience. The establishment is cool, there's a ton of televisions and a pool table. My diet soda didn't have enough syrup in it so the taste was off but I didn't say anything so it must have not been too bad. We ordered a spinach dip and a dolphin rueben to share. The spinach dip was warm, not hot. It definitely needed to be heated up more but tasty... I thought we were off to a decent start. Then the rueben came out. I moved to Royal Palm. beach from Maine and so far have had a great experience... most ppl in the community are VERY welcoming -- this place HOWEVER I've experienced true racism for the first time since I've been here. Now mind you all I grew up in a predominantly white society with having been adopted (I even have white parents).. The owner here is a true "Karen". Last night I came in with a group of my friends to enjoy karoke along with everyone else..I do this every Friday night. This was no different..I even participate in the singing fun-- Each time I go in I am treated so much differently -- i was even asked to put a card on hold although no one else was around me..other guests started noticing how rude the bartenders speaking to me were and if this was "normal behavior". After singing one of my favorite songs the owner approached me and asked me to leave for "falling asleep at the bar" which mind you all I had literally just participated in a karoke song so I can assure you that DID NOT HAPPEN. I was humiliated and embarrassed and asked to leave for doing nothing wrong..a few ppl on my way out hugged me and apologized for the owners behavior. I did take notice each time I come in that im one of the VERY FEW BLACK PPL in there but i always give ppl the benefit of the doubt..HOWEVER- this place is humiliating, RACIST, AND ultimately the lack of empathy and compassion in the employees who work for this "Karen-type" is simply degrading...I will be furthering my complaint with the BBB and trust me my white friends in higher level positions will be taking a visit to justify the wrong that was committed.
