Ribs, boneless wings and onion rings.

Definitely a local joint. We went Thursday night, which they have trivia night, small place loud speakers. What was cool is that you actually win stuff, from Jell-O shots to $150 gift card as the top prize. We Waited 35 minutes for ribs, chicken nuggets and onion rings?? Cudos on the ribs and onion rings though. Nuggets were meh. Service was ok. Will go again since it is so close to my home and try the burger, saw one go by and looked appetizing.

Here for early St Patrick's day celebration. New management since our last visit. Irish car bombs great. The Shepards pie and Irish Pub fries were fantastic. The Irish cream bread pudding with Jameson caramel off the charts.

Friday night special -full rack of ribs for $15!

Friday night full rack of ribs special for $15 was delicious; the ribs were meaty and tender with lots of sauce (may consider getting sauce on the side next time)! The fries and onion rings were crispy and really good. The inside is like a real tavern; dark, comfy booths and bar, with TVs and pool tables. The service was excellent and the bathrooms were clean. We'll definitely be going back.

I keep coming back and this place keeps almost making the grade. Wings were crispy and perfectly cooked but they should be served in a bowl, dripping with sauce, not laid out delicately on a plate like Lantana is now some pinkies out fine dining... Be advised : All menu prices are set at "cash price" yet paying with a card adds a 3% customer service charge to all sales...

I'm not usually one for the tavern environment, but this place was pleasantly surprising! The waitress I had was probably the sweetest woman ever. She checked on us constantly, refilled our waters before they emptied, and was so helpful. I can't remember the last time I've had such a friendly hostess! The environment is also very unique. The front of the restaurant is diner style. Really gets you in the mood for a good breakfast! The second room made me feel like I was in a ballroom or a fancy room in an old film. Very simple but elegant. I absolutely loved it! The third room I didn't venture into, but it was a sports bar looking room! I think it's awesome that a spot can have so many different ambiances simultaneously. The food was also delicious. I wasn't too sure of what to order because there aren't too many photos on Yelp, so I went with the chicken sandwich lunch special. It was an actual whole chicken breast on a fresh bun, topped with a great portion of lettuce, tomato, and onion. The fries were crispy, and I even got a side of honey mustard that tasted like they make it in the house. This was a great spot for lunch and I can imagine it would be just as wonderful for breakfast or dinner. Definitely going to be back!

Korean bbq Half Dozen Bone-in Wings

DE-LISH! Talk about fall of the bone. The rib fingers were some of the best I've had! And the Mac n cheese tasted like it was made from scratch. Highly recommend if you're looking for a gourmet bite :) Beware: mostly everything is a la carte. We were offered celery and blue cheese with our wings thinking it was included (since we were offered) and ended up having to pay extra.

As a big fan of LILO's in Lake Worth I was excited to check out that group's newest offering Lantern Local Tavern during breakfast on their opening weekend! The hostess was very friendly and offered us the last comfy booth in the kitchen area. This area probably won't be for everyone, but i enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the kitchen and seeing all the food being plated up at the window and then whisked off to its final destination. I peeked at the menu online and knew the only choice for me was going to be the Cinnamon Toast Crunch crusted French toast (the Cereal French Toast on the menu) with a sweetened condensed milk glaze generously poured on top! It was very good. I thought I'd need syrup too, but no...the French toast was well cooked but not dry and the sweetened condensed milk topping was plenty to keep it sweet and gooey (how I like it)! The menu is teasing a "coming soon" brunch buffet and all you can drink mimosas...so yeah...I'll be back for that!

I was visiting family in the area, and we heard that Lantern was a Bills Backers bar. Being from Buffalo, we were so excited to hear this! We stopped in for brunch this last Sunday and everything was great. The menu is large, the food was excellent and the service was wonderful. We will be back!!

    Lantern Burger with onion rings

We wanted a burger and gave this place a try. We used to come to the Hive when it was located here. The decor inside the dining area is very dark, and the chairs and tables are cozy. The bar was packed with what looked like regulars. Barbara was our server and she was great, although she didn't inform us of the mayonnaise up charge and the extra 3% service charge. The burgers came out quickly and looked good. Two slices of tomato and a nice portion of cheese, lettuce, and pickles. However, there was no sauce. I asked for mayonnaise so I could create my own sauce. I didn't think it would be $1.18 for a condiment.. oh well. Beers were cold and the onion rings I added on were crispy and tasty. The problem was the burger. It didn't have much flavor and the color of it was very light. I started to question the beef in my mind and then I couldn't eat any more. Probably a one and done for us.

The menu is really eclectic as you read through it. Fried rice and French dip and tacos on the same menu? But.. We loved the apps! I wish I just ordered the ceviche for my meal. It was fresh and zesty. The others loved the thanksgiving empanada which was basically an empanada with turkey and cranberry, etc. Tuna poke was also loved. The tallow fries tasty but I liked the regular ones better. But basically everyone loved all the fries. Entrees were just mediocre. The French dip would, have been nice but the beef was too thick and overcooked and the roll was thick and doughy. The cheese shouldn't be on a French dip at all, but even more so when it was congealed and not melted. Skip this one. The tacos were decent though. The snapper was really good but a little overcooked and seriously over salted. No room for dessert. Love the bar because they accommodated a silly pisco sour request with a humorous creative twist! So yes the food is uneven but I actually would go back because the apps were great, the cat was cute, the bar was clever and our server Liam was just the best.

Oceano, why oh why did I wait so long!?…read more I have been wanting to try Oceano since it was located in its former Lantana location. So when friends asked if I were interested in joining them for an art exhibit, followed by dinner at Oceano, I could not say YES fast enough. I am thrilled to say the wait was worth it. All the chips fell into place when after a small wait we were seated outside (what luck), found our waiter was from Croton-on-the-Hudson (had to wait a year before he was able to land a job at Oceano), and our food was paced perfectly. Started with the Grilled Cucumber Salad that included sumac-labneh, medjool date, berbere spice pickle, pistachio, and the Sugar snap Pea Salad of rhubarb, pecorino, stracciatella, mint, lemon, marcona almond. Next up, Pizza! Had to of course start with the Straight Shooter Pizza which was a simple pie of tomato, mozz, basil, pecorino, good olive oil. Pizza #2 was the Zuchinni Pizza, a white pie of hazelnut, lemon, asiago, mozz, parm, stacciatella. To round out the meal we had the Gnocci Sardi. This was an utterly delicious bowl of pasta that included duck confit, morels, peas, parm, creme fraiche, fines herbs, wild ramps. Super meal with smiles all around. There are two restaurants I feel are super deserving of a Michelin Star in my area, and Oceano is definitely one of them! We came here for dinner last night and we were seated with a direct ocean view. This is one of the few places that is literally on the beach that you can have dinner. It was around 7 PM so there was shade and cool evening ocean breezes We ordered the whole snapper which was a whopping 2 1/2 pounds and the grouper. The snapper was obviously meant for two people because of the amount of rice and vegetables they included with the snapper. It was excellent. The grouper came in some type of coconut sauce, which was amazing. We were dipping our snapper in the sauce for the grouper. If I was to make any type of recommendation, I would recommend adding a side of this sauce to the snapper and that would just make it a perfect dish I had a watermelon Mojito. The drinks here are ridiculously expensive at $17 a cocktail. And it's not like they come in a huge glass. They come in a regular wine glass. They do say that all the ingredients are natural and nothing is artificial, so maybe it's worth it to pay that much to not have a bunch of junk in your drinks. The service was slow. Although friendly. When we arrived, there was not that many people eating so I was surprised when after 30 minutes we still had not gotten the cocktails. Our waiter said it was because there was only one bartender and he was 15 minutes behind on his orders. I find this pretty amazing that a restaurant like Benny's cannot hire more than one bartender so that the people who come and pay what is not really a moderate amount but pretty expensive for their entrées, but still have to wait 20 minutes to get their drinks. It was only for this that I took off a star. When I order a cocktail, I like it brought out within five minutes and not to drink during my dinner. Dinner was also very slow and we got our entrées about 45 minutes after our order. But all in all, it was an amazing experience and we will be back.

I was having a great time, enjoying my meal and drinks, when disaster struck right at the end. I had literally just finished eating when a huge roach crawled right by my feet on the couch area. It was massive and absolutely disgusting. I jumped out of my seat so fast, thankfully I was done with my food, or I probably would've lost it completely. I didn't scream (which is a miracle because I definitely would have at home), but it was such a gross turn-off. I get that this is Lake Worth and Florida has its bugs, but come on, a roach that big in a dining establishment? That's not okay. You really need to step up the pest control. Also, the bathrooms could use some serious help. They're outdated and feel neglected, definitely in need of an update or renovation to match the rest of the cool vibe. Overall, the sushi shines, the drinks are spot-on, and the atmosphere is fun... but that roach ruined the ending for me, and the bathrooms don't help. Fix those things, and this place could be amazing. Hoping it was just a one-off bad night!
