If I could leave more than 5 stars I would. Always friendly, super helpful and fresh delicious burek and yogurt. They sell them either per slice or pies, usually we pick up meat and cheese, and today we ordered spinach as well. These are delicious!! Super flaky and tasteful, big portions. The establishment is really clean, the bathroom is past the pizza over, but also clean. Well worth the drive from Jersey!

I've never had a a home cooked burek before, but I imagine this is damn close. The lovely ladies working the counter and the ovens were quick to greet you with a smile and to take your order. I ordered a meat burek pie to go, and I was genuinely surprised that I was in and out within 8minutes max! Burek stayed nice and hot, surviving a 30 min walk home, and it was the perfect combination of flakey and chewy goodness. Not at all too salty and quite enjoyable. I definitely plan of visiting again soon. *They also surve Burek by the slice (which is a quarter of a pie)*

This place is so tasty it is trouble! I was looking for a quick bite near Pelham Parkway and stumbled upon Dukagjini Burek on an online search. Having no clue what a burek was I proceeded to do some research and uncovered that I hadn't been doing life right as I had been depriving myself of the joys of the flakiest and tastiest of savory pastries in the Bronx. I had to correct this asap! I went on a weekday afternoon and fully reveled in the delights of burek. I really intended to get more than one slice but the burek was very filling and I couldn't make it past one. I was able to snag a table and throughly enjoyed seeing how the bureks at DB brought a really diverse group of people together. I heard Spanish, Albanian, Arabic, and English. Young and old. Locals galore. That's how you know the place is reallllly good. Fresh out the oven. Flavorful. Greasy deliciousness. Try it, you might just become a regular!

Interesting food. Nice pie, kind of tastes like pasta. I got the meat one. Would recommend.

Easy and delicious! The ladies at the front are so friendly and the food is quite affordable for a quick bite. I've never had Balkan pies before but I loved my experience of it! I got a meat slice and a spinach and cheese slice, and a regular recommended the yogurt as well. The yogurt adds a fun "coolness" to the pie and lightens it up. We had a lot of fun trying this and the ladies were so helpful with choosing different slices to try!

After a day at the Bronx zoo I wanted something new and local to the area before heading back to Manhattan. This is the spot! I got a beef pie and the lady cut it in half so I can eat the rest later but it's so good I ate it all in one sitting and took the spinach home. Friendly service and A rating for cleanliness. I'll be back next time I go see the gorillas.

Very nice staff with great smiles. I ordered the meat burek. Even though I'm not Albanian, it was a very delicious and tasty meat pie that it reminded me of my mom's cooking. I'm going to be working close by for the next two weeks. Now I know where I'm getting my lunch from.

Is this a place you should drive out of your way for from another borough? Unless you love burek SO much that you're willing to pay tolls to cross bridges and brave traffic for? Probably not. Is this a place you should visit if you're in the area of close enough to it? Absolutely, yes! The thing to get here is obviously burek because that is what they sell here and the burek at Dukagjini is superb and as close to authentic as you can get outside of Albania. The burek is fresh, flaky, and delicious and the simplicity of the menu makes it easy for you choose between meat, cheese, and spinach, which are all equally good but very different from one another. I loved the ooey gooey goodness of the cheese, the flavor of the meat, and the freshness of the spinach, and as I said you can't go wrong with one, two, or all three but beware of the portions, which are generous and quite filling. The lovely people who work here are very sweet and helpful so grab yourself a slice or a pie along with an espresso or cappuccino and experience one of the best of the Balkans! Excellent spot to check out if you're in the Bronx!

Dukagjini in Pelham Gardens has gotten a lot of buzz. And because I had heard great things about it, I wanted to try my hand at it too. This no-bells-and-whistles setting has wall plaques, indoor dining and a digital overhead menu listing nothing but bureks, their plain yogurt and coffee. For me, it's all about the greens- so picking up 2 Spinach Bureks to try, had to happen. Dukagjini bureks are pimped out with a nice amount of spinach+cheese and an overwhelming dose of onions. My mom especially- liked the combination of having that phyllo golden top and the burek's doughy bottom. Service was friendly and swift. But that flaky, phyllo, buttery sheen top for me- was everything.

This place is where you go to for genuine bureks, the "Dukagjini" in the name of this restaurant is an area in Albania where the owner is from. There is no variety in their menu but that's actually the strength of this place. You can get in and out quickly faster than a typical order at your local deli while also having it hot and fresh as a result of them constantly creating burek pies for other customers and to portioning them out. The portion size is not something to be upset at despite it seeming small since it is caloric dense, making it extremely filling. With the only item made being the bureks, you do not have any other flavors masking the taste of it. Definitely a good place if you are commuting somewhere and this is on the way, as a local, or if you wanted a genuine burek.

I think what makes their cannoli stand out amongst some of the best is their shell. It's always fresh and crispy. Their filling is a little more vanilla forward compared to other NY institutions version of the cannoli, so keep that in mind when trying one. I'll put it to you this way, if you like Italian pastries, especially cannolis make this place a destination to visit, give them a try and see how it ranks up compared to your favorites. And while you're there, take in the rest of Arthur Ave! Oh, I almost forgot. They have what my husband says are the best savoiardi cookies in the state. They're always fresh, soft, slightly chewy in the middle with a delicately crispy exterior. They're to die for with a hot cup of coffee.

The customer service, the cake, & the taste was all the same as what it was before. AMAZING! I got the fresh strawberry shortcake with crackers all around for a friend's birthday. When I brought the cake to the party it was the main attraction at the end of the night. The cake was sliced and served. Once the guest had that first bite they were taken aback at how BOMB the cake was! They said it was the perfect kind of sweet. Not overly sweet like other cakes and how it tasted so fresh and delicious. Awww man I need you to experience it for yourself! This cake in particular has me in a chokehold! Their selection is extremely large and contains all that you would expect (biscotti, rainbow cookies, b&w's, pignolis, etc) as well as Italian ice and various other treats. The line moved fast, and the workers were extremely helpful as we ordered our rainbow cookies and pignoli cookies with cannoli cream. The pignoli were great...they had that signature almond taste, just right. Very enjoyable. And the cannoli cream center was a nice touch, and very good as well. The rainbow cookies were ok. Admittedly, I have a very high bar for rainbows, so I hold them to a high standard...and they were good, just not as flavorful/almondy as I particularly prefer. In all, Artuso is a great stop. A perfect post lunch/dinner spot to grab a quick snack to cap off a meal. Definitely check it out.
