It's a very unassuming place. Extremely casual. Walk in find a seat. Walk to register, order and eat. Most people grab the buffet. It's one price per age group 14-61 $20 that includes the buffet and your drink and tax! They had a variety of food, only one BBQ item at this time of day, which was pulled pork. They had a variety of squeeze bottles with sauces, Smoky, mild, spicy, vinegar. They had rice, black eyed peas, sweet potatoes, cole slaw, hush puppies, corn nuggets, Mac and cheese also some desserts: banana pudding, peach cobbler. The star was their fried chicken though. Crispy skin and juicy and delicious. Would return just for that. They do say that have specials for their ribs but didn't get a chance for those this day and they do have takeout. And watching them make the To-go plates they LOAD them up!!

This restaurant is a must stop when near the Walterboro area. The prices are very reasonable at this all you care to eat buffet. The food was delicious and a nice variety to choose from. Plenty of seating inside and out.

Food was absolute delicious!! We will come back for next trip to Florida from Philly. All side dishes were fresh and comporting.

Solid local BBQ spot - no bells and whistles or fancy decor here, but the food is good and the all you can eat buffet is a deal. Stopped in while headed north in 95 and it was a nice break from driving.

Pilled pork, Mac and cheese, onion rings, pickles, and hush puppies.

Dukes is what you think about when thinking good old fashioned bar-b-que. The atmosphere is homey like being in a southern house for dinner. The buffet has the best os southern cooking. The pulled pork melted in your mouth. It's a bit pricey but well worth it in the long run.

We were seated quickly and the staff was nice. Our table was sticky, but I just threw on some hand sanitizer and wiped it with a napkin. Maybe the stickiness is what initially attracted the gnats that were bothering us the whole stinking time. I literally managed to kill 6 but there were still more around. They kept landing in the food which was a bit off putting. The waitress said they were bothering everyone not just our table. We ordered drinks while we decided what to eat. It took a little while to get our drinks which were very weak. It was a Tuesday night and not crowded. We ordered our food then waited much longer than you would expect for it. I ordered the Nashville chicken sandwich. It was ok, but nothing to write home about. My husband got the Ultimate Fries and Ultimate Nachos (yeah not a very health conscious guy lol). He said they were ok, but again, nothing to rave about. Overall the place wasn't super clean, had annoying gnats, weak drinks slow and underwhelming food. The waitress was nice though, so there is that.

As a local to this location, I am finally forced to write this review…read more We checked in online well before arriving and still had to wait 15-20 minutes to be seated. Once seated, our waitress was very nice and quickly brought our drinks, silverware, and hot biscuits. Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. After we finished our biscuits, we noticed our waitress had left (as in, the building entirely). After waiting about 30 minutes, another waitress came over and told us she would be taking over our table. By that point, several tables around us were becoming frustrated as well, with no one receiving food yet. Eventually, the table across from us was served, even though we had been seated before them and were still waiting. After we asked about our order, the new waitress finally checked and said the food would be out shortly. We also never received drink refills, and my sister eventually had to get up and go to the kitchen area herself to get tea. When our food finally arrived, I ordered the hamburger steak with mac & cheese and green beans. The "steak" was essentially just a hamburger patty, and the mac & cheese was cold and bland. On top of that, the noise level from the bus staff was excessive--much louder than expected, with silverware being tossed into containers in a way that was very disruptive. The bathrooms were also not clean and had no toilet paper. I hate leaving negative reviews, but this location has been a disappointment the last several times we've dined here. I will say the retail staff are always great--no issues there. I just wish I could say the same for the dining area.

The employee who brought us our coffees was pleasant, friendly, and efficient. I love blueberry pancakes, and I knew as soon as I looked at their menu what I was ordering. The Pancake Breakfast comes with your choice of pancakes (blueberries always of course), 2 eggs, and choice of meat (bacon for me, tyvm). Cracker Barrels line their walls with such interesting pictures and it was really nice just sitting, relaxing, and scanning the walls while waiting for my pancakes. The pancakes were very good with the exception that they might have been cooked a tad longer to create more of a golden brown color, however the inside was done so no harm done. Before I knew it, my plate was cleaned, my coffee cup empty, and it was time to get back on the bike. A good meal, pleasant service, and a relaxing stop is what you'll find here. Be sure to check them out.

We pull up to be told that our tope 3 drink choices are all out of order. Ok whatever. Then we are asked to oull up to the door because they are making fresh fries. Ok, that's fine. We were watching the clock and my husband was about to go in at the 15 minutes mark when the lady came with our food. She apologized for the long wait. We start to pull off and I notice my large fries fill up HALF of the fries sleeve. I said you have got to be kidding me! Also they were warm fries, but definitely not straight from the fryer hot. I was ticked, but we were already running late from out 14 minutes wait. Ridiculous! After ordering, we pulled up to find multiple cars were already being pulled from the drive thru because food was not ready, and we got pulled too. After about 15 minutes of waiting, we went inside to see what the delay was and found out they had not even started making our food yet. After waiting a grand total of 30-45 minutes we finally got our meals. After we got our food we needed silver wear and napkins and everything was controlled behind the counter so you needed to ask staff, at one point my daughter went inside to ask for napkins and was completely ignored by the staff after several people made eye contact with her. This is by far one of the slowest and most mismanaged locations I've ever been to. I hate leaving a one star review, but in this case even tm this feels generous. All this greatly under shadows the meal itself. The food was fresh as it was being cooked when you ordered for some reason. The fries were seasoned well. If you want fresh food and are willing to wait for it, and can deal with in attentive staff you'll like this location otherwise stay away.

We've never tried Captain D's but Jeremy really enjoys fried fish. This seemed like something he could eat while driving, but alas they were out of fried fish, and about half of their menu including condiments such as ketchup and cocktail sauce. Nevertheless we were able to cobble together two meals, and neither of us had any complaints. Jeremy had fried shrimp and popcorn shrimp with hush puppies (I love how many restaurants in the south have these on their menu. These were perfect, if not a tiny bit too salty). I had chicken tenders (they actually had honey mustard dipping sauce, which is my preferred sauce when it comes to chicken) and some amazing cole slaw (not mushy). Even though we couldn't have several of our first choices (out of jalapeno poppers), what we did eat was crispy and delicious. I wouldn't mind trying Captain D's again, sometime in the future, when we're on yet another epic adventure. Sorry no pics. It was difficult to juggle the clambox containers on my lap in a moving vehicle.
