dee.li.cious. This…read moreplace was on the way to my favorite coffee shop at the moment. I decided to stop in. Such a big place. Menu looked good. The biscuits and gravy came out in less than 5 mins, you would assume that's great right? Nope, it was still half cold like they just threw it in the oven for 4 mins and hoped for the best. Yeah no...half warm half cold gravy and sausage? Not the best. The smash burger was just burnt, yes i understand the concept of a smash burger you want a crisps to it but you also want meat to bite into just like a regular burger. Fries and pickles were good tho. Thankfully. The lemon chicken was pretty good but def didn't have any lemon taste to it. But that's also a personal preference so I can't knock them down for that. Overall, it's a ok place but nothing wow about them. There's plenty of other places to check out. Oh and our waiter over poured my beer and it was just dripping all over the place. A simple spill out or new glass would've been nice instead of a sticky and slippery glass. Just a thought...

Sweet Chick in the Lower East Side was one of our favorite unexpected discoveries of the trip…read more Located right across from our hotel it turned out to be a total hidden gem. The vibe inside is so cool, chill hip hop music playing throughout and I genuinely added about five songs to my music library before we even finished eating. That kind of atmosphere is hard to find. The food was incredible. I ordered the buffalo chicken tenders with waffles and everything about it was perfect. The tenders were crispy and glazed beautifully in buffalo sauce. The waffle was not your average waffle, it had this wheat cinnamon style to it that made it stand out, soft, fluffy and absolutely delicious. It came with butter and what I believe was an herb butter as well and whatever it was it was incredible. My fiancé ordered eggs Andy style, scrambled with bacon and toast, and the real standout on his plate were the potatoes. Crushed style, perfectly seasoned with what tasted like brown sugar and paprika. We are still talking about those potatoes. Service was amazing and the whole experience just felt effortless and fun. If you are in the Lower East Side and looking for an incredible brunch spot with amazing food and even better vibes, Sweet Chick is the one. Do not sleep on this place.

When you arrive you're greeted by a very nice hostess that was our waiter. I ordered the fried chicken, waffles And grits. The chicken was flavorful, crispy and light, and the waffles were really good. But what made me happy were the grits. They were not complicated but good if that makes sense. The ambiance was laid back and had a soulful vibe. If you're in this area, eat here.

Pasta is freshly made and you can tell. It was not a big eating night for us as we've been eating like a-holes for a month now. So we only got three things, but all three were absolute perfection.

It's an interesting spot, split seating into two locations but single kitchen. Both seating spots are pretty small/intimate, so expect to get to know your neighbors! We did the pre fixe, so started with the sweet potatoes and hush puppies. The honey butter that comes with the hush puppies was the highlight, so delish but rich. Next the pastas: star of the night! We got the Miso Carbonara Tagliatelle and the Lamb Ragu Orecchiette. Miso carbonara was rich and scrumptious, umami bomb. I'm normally a cream sauce girlie over red, but the lamb ragu stole the show. Super tender chunks of lamb and the pasta was perfectly al dente. Incredible pastas! The mains were okay, pork chop was a bit too salty and the fried catfish was really underwhelming. Service is good, very friendly and efficient. Decor inside is cute too. I think I misordered, if i came back would def stick to the pastas and maybe try the fried chicken. They apparently have a pasta happy hour with half-off pastas, would come back for that.

She also had the Arnold Palmer, which was great. Comes with fries which were good. I had the oxtail, with a side of garlic mash and Mac n cheese. Yes! Lots of carbs, don't judge me! lol The oxtail were pretty fatty and fell short in flavor, I also wasn't impressed by the sides. My drink, sexy sangria was delicious, strong and the service was A1, Brian was great and so was the server. Sampled the hot sauce, very good. My one critique of the establishment, smelled a little like wet mop. But the playlist was bumping and overall great vibes, love the art on the walls.

The space and volume seemed to overwhelm the staff at times. Service was friendly and welcoming but also frazzled and disorganized. We never received our appetizer until we reminded them, and our drinks (sweet tea and lemonade) also had to be requested again after a very long wait. To their credit, they did pack up the crab cake appetizer to go and removed it from the bill, which we appreciated. The fried chicken, mac and cheese, and yams were all served on top of each other. If you dont like for your food to touch, this place will be a nightmare for you. I ordered fried catfish, collard greens and potato salad. The fried catfish was served swimming in collard green juice (there's a picture of it). It was also surprising that you only get one piece of catfish, which felt underwhelming for the price, especially since it was soggy. The potato salad was served in a small separate bowl, which is typical in many Southern restaurants for ALL side dishes. The mac and cheese had good flavor but the cheese wasn't fully melted. The yams were dry and not very sweet despite the menu description. The collard greens were on the sweeter side, which may work for some but wasn't my preference. The potato salad the only thing that was solid. Overall, it felt overpriced for the portion sizes and execution. The bartender seemed very skilled, and the drinks we saw being made looked great, though we didn't order any. After the long wait and missing appetizer, we skipped dessert and went elsewhere. The bathroom also needed attention and was not well maintained AT ALL! Ew The restaurant is very loud which didn't bother me at all but an FYI. It is also handicapped accessible and kid friendly. I really wanted to love the experience, but it fell below expectations in terms of service, cleanliness, and value. I might give them another try but no time soon.

The mushroom dish was an absolute standout, and the pea salad was fresh, bright, and surprisingly addictive. The whipped ricotta with citrus and toast was simple but unforgettable. She was warm, friendly, and made the whole experience feel welcoming from start to finish. And dessert? B as in Banana stole the show. Comforting, playful, and the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. This spot fills up quickly, and for good reason! We were greeted by a very friendly server and were given complimentary shots of soju. It was superb! We went ahead and ordered an assortment of items (they recommend two or three per person, which I think is perfect). The dishes range from $10 to $20 or so, and we ordered both desserts. A few pics attached to this review. A few notes: 1) get the deli bagel. Just do it. I promise, it's worth your time! 2) I highly recommend the potato nuggets, popcorn chicken, and hot pocket; 3) sweet tea is a win if you're a sweet tea person; 4) go to the bathroom at some point. A note on ambiance: be prepared for a decently small dining room with very dim lighting. Vibes were phenomenal though. Prepare for a very comfy, somewhat loud, yet vibrant sitting area, and bring your sense of humor...this will make sense later :) From start to finish, C as in Charlie provided a really entertaining dining experience. I cannot recommend this place enough!
