It's a large space, and half the restaurant didn't have lights on, but it was fine. I ordered the chicken satay which came on a slice of bread, which I had never seen before. It was simple and tasted good. I also had the beef pho with thin sliced beef, and I added meatballs. I ordered the SMALL, it was a huge portion! Wish they had an even smaller portion. It was $18 which is a little higher than what I am accustomed to, but it is AK. I try to eat pho whenever I travel, just for comparison. This broth was a little on the sweet side for me, but that's just personal preference.

Family run Thai Restaurant in a strip mall along the Parks highway N of the congested area of…read moreWasilla. Lots of parking available. This is not the first business in this space and much of the floor covering and the dining bar are from a previous tenant. It is clean, the staff are efficient and polite. I was having a late lunch about 2 PM on a Wednesday and the restaurant was not busy. But judging from what I observed I believe that they do a large takeout busy and are busy at meals times and the evening. They accept credit cards and would be excellent for families. Ten tables for four, 8 chairs for dining bar. They have daily specials. The menu has many Thai Curry dishes that you select the meat or fish additions. They also have a list of many PHO dishes to accompany the Thai dishes. As this is my first time eating here and as I always do I having my favorite soup dish. I have been enjoying this dish for more than 50 years. I believe if they can make this soup I can evaluate how they rate at least on this one dish. I usually find if they do this soup well their other dishes will be excellent also. Now to important evaluation of the soup. The soup arrived timely and steaming hot from the burner. A large bowl with the correct color of the broth and an aroma that promised an excellent broth. The broth was well seasoned but not too spicy for anyone that eats this spicy style soup. The flavor was excellent and among the best. I requested chicken and the bowl had a large amount of tender breast meat cut in 1" sized pieces. It was free of any skin, fat or trim. Cooked to perfection and flavored with the broth. The vegetables consisted of fresh sliced mushrooms, green onions, cherry tomatoes sliced in half, white onion slices and Thai basil. The soup was a meal in itself with out the rice. After eating a portion of the soup I added the rice and allowed it to soak up the broth but with plenty of broth remaining. The flavor and consistency of the soup was excellent and I will return to hav more. The Thai iced tea was lightly flavored with a slice of lemon and very good. PS: as an additional note in one of the pictures is a large red box with a photo of a young girl in bed. She is 15 and very ill with a serious medical condition. She has lost her father and her mother and friends are struggling to support her and the Med bills. They are politely asking for donations to help with her care. This is a family effort of the restaurant families. Please consider a donation when you stop by to eat.

My other half took a look at it and discounted it as a puppy stop not a cafe. We all lamented and insisted must stop on the drive back. We did and thank God because is THE BEST FOOD SPOT BETWEEN ANCHORAGE & DENALI. we pulled up not knowing what to expect and found a super cute trailer, well maintained & cleaned with lots of cute seating, games and music! There was also a doggy that was beautiful and wonderful to see, we missed any dog exhibitions or sled pulls but the food and drink made it so we did not feel like we were missing anything. We had smoothies, Mac n cheese, sandwiches and a lotus energy drink that I Loved and had never heard of and it gave me enough energy that I'm writing this review while driving back rather than dozing off. The service was kind, attentive and patient. We didn't know what to expect and were taking a while, add to that 3 little girls that had a million questions and you have a real test in hospitality. They passed it all. If you are driving between anchorage & Denali and don't stop, you are missing out. Do not let the idea of it being paired off with pups discourage you. Honestly very simple, but some of the best food we've had while visiting and I have been wearing my way through Alaska. Ohhhh and don't forget to ask about the secret menu or be afraid of trying g their pickle soup. It's all winners!!!!

Between the rich chai, the flavorful BLT, my son's Ziggy panini, the triple berry dessert with ice cream, and my other son's simple yet satisfying toast and bacon--everything was delicious and clearly made with care. The staff were genuinely invested in what they do, and it showed in both their service and the quality of the food. The ambiance - open air, picnic tables, - and more make this a great, inclusive, welcoming cafe! Turns out after talking to the ladies working one of them was a student in my college friend's class way back when. Hands down this is the place to go eat! Oh, i'd be remiss if I didn't mention my one complaint: they don't have a location in Seattle.

The interior design could use some work except the little fireplace nook they have is super cute. They had a Christmas tree that was only half lit and decorated which was weird. We got coffees; two sunrise sandwiches and the potato soup in a bread bowl. Both the sandwiches were very good! Definitely a great spot for them and with any of the bread choices, which there are MANY! I'll absolutely come back for them! The bread bowl is just white bread which was disappointing as I thought they'd have a sourdough option. The bread was super doughy inside as if the soup had been sitting in it for hours or it wasn't baked all the way through and it tasted like it was missing salt maybe. The soup was fine, nothing great but not bad. Similar to what you may buy canned at the grocery store. The coffee didn't come out until we were about ready to leave which I expected as it seemed they had barely 2-3 people working at one time. If they did more bread bowl options, experimented with the soup flavors more (or start making it homemade if they buy it commercially), and redecorated, I'd 100% give this place 5 stars. Regardless, great place for sandwiches and coffee and I'll totally be back!

A few people that stand out consistently are::Maddie, Rebecca, hope and juniper Jessica And the owner Don, of course. Thank you guys for always being consummate professionals and creating Joy whenever I come in and bringing a smile to my face in big ways and small. And it's not just about the incredibly yummy decadent flagrant yet down home raspberry cinnamon roll, but also your raspberry swirl bread is to die for as well as your blueberry crumble. Oh, and the Apple bread as well. I'm such a fan that my niece Kat bought me a gift certificate for Christmas and I can't wait to use it :)

Her attention to detail, friendly personality, and professionalism made our dining experience exceptional. The food was phenomenal. The halibut bites were perfectly crispy and delicious, the dill salmon was fresh and flavorful, and the filet was cooked perfectly--tender and full of flavor. The blueberry beer was also fantastic and a unique local treat that paired wonderfully with the meal. From the warm welcome to the flawless service and incredible food, every part of our experience exceeded our expectations. If you're in Anchorage, Alaska Chopped & Chowder is an absolute must-visit!

With our reservation, we were seated pretty quickly, and I thought the restaurant had a cute nautical feel inside. I ordered a cider, and Colby ordered a glass of wine. For our appetizer, we shared the chowder sampler, which, being from Cape Cod, I had never seen before. The presentation was super cute, with each chowder served in its own tiny mug. All three were delicious and tasted freshly made. For my meal, I ordered the fish & chips, which were very good. I was a little disappointed that one piece of fish was missing batter on one side, but overall everything was still quite tasty. The bathrooms were clean, and I found the staff to be generally friendly, aside from a few comments that we chose to let slide. Overall, this was a really nice spot for local seafood, and there is plenty of free parking outside. We would definitely recommend it if you're looking for fresh seafood while visiting Anchorage.
