Was it fate that brought me back to their sample table? No, it was probably the Chocolate Gods…read morethat I pay homage to on a daily basis. :) I love love chocolate! I'm very particular about my chocolate too. I pretty much break down my chocolate into two categories: 1. Regular Chocolate - Hershey's, Lindt, See's, Cadbury, etc. 2. Chocolate Chocolate - Godiva, Ethel M Chocolates, and all other "premium" chocolates that are not as well known. I have to say that I'm not a fan of fudge. I saw the sample table (at V. Sattui Winery) and I actually passed it up initially, because I saw that it was fudge. I was standing near the table waiting for my BF to pick out cold beverages, when I decided to go ahead and try a small piece since I was just standing there anyway. OMG . . . It was good! It had an absolutely delicious flavor and it was so smooth. I prodded my BF to try a piece, and he loved it too! There was no hesitation on my end. I grabbed two 8oz bars of it (Chocolate Fudge Truffle), and left for the register. My friend was somewhat surprised that I purchased two of them for $11.99 each, but my BF justified my purchasing choice by commenting, "She really loves her chocolate, so when Roselina says it's good I trust her". My friend understood why I bought it when she and her husband tried a piece. They were amazed at how good it was, because they also hate fudge. Thank you Chocolate Gods for watching over me! :)

I recently experienced the joy of Napa Valley Fudge while tasting wine at V Sattui Winery. I had…read moreread the reviews of this winery and one yelper recommended the chocolate tasting with the Gamay Rouge. Needless to say, they taste great together. Gary, the master Fudgemaker, was there giving out free samples. When I enquired with the server about the choclate tasting, she sent me to Gary. I told him about the yelp review and he gave me several samples to try with the wine. Napa Valley Fudge Company is a separate company but they sell their Fudge inside the V Sattui Market. Gary is friendly, personable, and quite skilled at making his desserts. I ended up bringing home a pound of his fudge both because it tasted good but also because it matches with the wines so well. It doesn't hurt that he gave out free sample to the customers there. In addition, just the fact that the guy is hardworking and makes a great product is a wonderful reason to try the fudge. So whether you go to his store or find yourself at the Winery, your swee tooth will thank you! :-)

This is my second time back and it's just as great as I remembered. I was with the larger group so…read morewe tried multiple appetizers, including the banana bread and churros. The banana bread was perfectly moist, but with crispy edges and a delicious mascarpone side. We also had espresso martinis to complement these sweet treats. I had the egg in hole (again!) because I was still dreaming of that trouble sauce and perfectly crispy Parmesan bread. Others in my group also got that and were equally impressed! Everyone was really impressed with the meal and we would definitely come back again! We sat outside on the patio with the option for shade or heaters depending on the weather. It was very comfortable outside! Staff were attentive and friendly. It was an overall great experience.

But from the moment we arrived, the welcome and the service from our waiter were 10/10. From the very first bite, we completely fell in love with the flavor and quality of the food. The churros and banana bread were the best we've ever had, and the drinks were perfectly balanced. Without a doubt, the next time we visit Calistoga, this will be our first mandatory stop.

After having a delicious Cab at the nearby Romeo Vineyards and Cellars, my wife and I needed to…read moregrab lunch. While perusing the local businesses, we discovered Lincoln Avenue Brewery tucked in a small alley. A bartender by the name of Liza warmly greeted us as we took a seat at the bar. Since we were not terribly hungry at the moment, we ordered the Pork Belly from the appetizer menu. While enjoying the delicious Pork Belly bites, we placed an order for their non-beer options (neither one of us are beer lovers). We ordered the Dust Bowl Brewery Strawberry Margarita seltzer, which is ironically a brewery that is located in close proximity to our home. As we were winding down, we ordered a round of ciders and the three meats-three sides platter for dinner. Our dinner reheated well in our room (we decided to order it as takeout to avoid eating such a messy meal in public) and was quite tasty - even though the macaroni and cheese could have used some seasoning. If you're looking for exceptional customer service, a healthy variety of brews, and delicious food - I recommend visiting Lincoln Avenue Brewery!

Nice space friendly staff, good fresh beer and inside and outside (covered) seating. Your order at the bar and they bring the food to you. My friend lamented that they no longer used Haddock but at those prices I can see why they had to change; the local fried cod was very good.
