After being employed at Dulles Pet Hotel & Daycare for roughly 3 years, I wish I had all positive things to say. However, in my time working for this company, I quickly gained a love and care for every single pet that had entered the facility. I even made lifelong connections with certain clients. During my time while working for this company, I quickly came to the realization that employees (like myself and others) were not being treated fairly, not being treated with kindness, and my own personal information was not being kept private. Most importantly, while working for this company, it was clear that the environment of where the pets were staying were unsafe, unsanitary, and the conditions strictly depended on who was scheduled to work. There are many broken/damaged boarding runs that may or may not have been fixed, boarding runs that are rusting, some have screws/pipes/sharp objects sticking out, drains where debris from urine and feces go are not properly sanitized, and there are many attempted fixes on boarding runs using items such as duct tape, zip ties, and cut in half PVC pipes. There have been multiple occasions where the AC or Heating would be broken for multiple days in weather conditions when it was needed. There had also been other occasions where the dryer for laundry had caught on fire and was not fixed. There had been maggots, flies, and fruit flies found in soiled bedding for dogs, and the list goes on. In my time working there, I had such great relationships with pets as well as clients. This being said, the thoughts of what Dulles Pet Hotel & Daycare would be like without me and a select few other employees who are leaving or have already left, is why it was much harder for me to leave after so long. I personally would not bring my pet to this facility, and highly recommend owners to take their fur babies elsewhere. read more

I used this kennel years ago when it was Dulles Executive Pet. It has really changed. The charges seem the same (pricey!) but customer service no longer seem like the friendly, helpful bunch who were there. Last time I picked up the dog mid morning after several days there they weren't ready and I was asked to come back hours later. I cancelled the bath as I live a fair drive away. The dog reeked and I needed to give them a bath when I got home. This latest visit, I came later. The dog was ok but customer service continue to refuse to allow you to come into the lobby for pick up (even vaxxed and masked). This meant when the person brought my dog out they lost control of it and it jumped up and scratched the heck out of my car. While waiting, I noticed several dogs in the play area. The human minders were just standing there while the dogs sorta nervously wandered around. When I asked if the humans played with the dogs (as advertised) by throwing a ball or something I was told "sometimes the dogs play with each other." Is that what I paid for? I think I can find better service for the price elsewhere. read more

I bring my 2 energetic Weimaraners three days a week for daycare. My dogs love going - they stop what they're doing and race to the car when I ask if they want to go to "school," then bound into the pet hotel wagging and THRILLED to see the staff. I love going as well. The staff is very friendly and accommodating - emergencies come up and they are my back up. My dogs don't thrive in the "throw 30 dogs in a big room all day long" daycare places, and much prefer the more individual treatment they receive here. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! Took our two dogs there for a 5-day stay and both came away with kennel cough. They pushed me to their animal hospital (owned by the same person) to get treatment. They charged me over $80 for medication for something they gave to my pups. I called the boarding center and explained my dissatisfaction and that I should not have to pay more money after my pets got sick on their watch. The owner called back and left a message stating that their policy doesn't provide coverage for things contracted while boarding. THIS PLACE SUCKS, it's dirty and your pets will come away with diseases. NEVER GOING BACK AND SPREADING THE WORD! read more

I brought my dog to this location once before in the summer and was fairly happy with the service. My dog seemed happy when I picked her up and the place seemed clean. This time she was 5lbs lighter, was shedding uncontrollably, and covered in urine. The bill astounding. The lobby smelled like urine and unclean rodent cages. I brought her home to wash her and found some marks and tenderness like her leg had been stepped on or shut in a door. I will not use this company ever again - do yourself a favor and use rover or another facility. read more

This trip, I would say, is our sixth time boarding at Dulles. We stumbled upon this place when we were looking for a place to drop off my pup for a few days, during a busy holiday season. They were kind enough to squeeze us in last minute. I am at peace when I leave my pup here because I know for sure he is in good hands. They have a really cute play area both indoors and outdoors. The staff is amazing and they sincerely love what they do. During their working hours, they entertain calls from the paw-parents to check on their babies and are super patient with all your concerns. I usually get the Gold package which includes some extra play times and potty breaks. You can always request more if you need. One of the trips, I was in DC for a wedding and boarded my pup for 4 days. I missed my guy so much one of those days, and the staff was kind enough to arrange a session for me to see and play with him for a couple of hours. They have some good promotions going on. Ask and see. Great place! Definitely boarding my guy here the next time I am travelling. read more

If negative stars were possible I would give them -10. We boarded our 3 dogs for 6 nights and we were so disappointed with the level of care. ALL OF OUR DOGS REEKED OF URINE on the day of pick up. Mind you we had groomed them prior to dropping off so we would return to clean dogs. Secondly, the dogs were sad and petrified similar to that of an abused child. Then when we got billed she said we agreed to play time and we did but were misled by the receptionist due to her stating play time was a flat 10 dollar fee, she forgot to mention its $10 for each dog (30 bucks x6=180). Beside all this their lobby smells so badly reminds me of a poor neglectful skilled nursing facility. read more

New ownership has brought HORRIBLE service and rude staff. The pickup and drop off experience was full of angry rude impatient staff who didn't welcome us or our dog, and didn't say thank you - like they were mad at the new owners. I'll spare you the rude phone manners at reservation, that should have been a clue to us. I wish I could ask my dog, there for two days, if her care was similarly poor. Take your pets elsewhere. This used to be a trustworthy place to board our dogs. The fees and hidden, undisclosed charges are very high for the level of care and attention. I don't know if it's under new management but things have definitely gone downhill. We won't be going back. read more

I will not be bringing my dogs back here. We dropped off our 2 dogs on September 10 for one night. When I picked them up the next day, one of our dogs was bleeding from his neck and upper arm. Our dogs do rough house on occasion but no one even noticed my dog was bleeding! Thank god it wasn't worse. Everyone I saw working there was in high school, 18 or younger. I do not think they have well trained employees. The "acting supervisor" I spoke to on Sunday was polite but a high school kid. Additionally, the base rate only includes one morning walk. Obviously, a dog has to be let out more than once a day so you have to pay for additional "play times" We will be going somewhere else next time. read more

In reading the previous review, my heart goes out to that person. I know how it feels like to trust your dog to a kennel and then have something terrible happen. That's one of the reason why I always take my 10 year old lab mix to Dulles Exec and will continue to do so. They are so great with my dog and I know he loves it there because when I pick him up after a stay, he is always in such a happy mood and in great condition. One time, I had taken my dog to a different kennel for Xmas break and when I picked him up, his leg looked like it had been chewed on by a much bigger dog the place never called me about it. They said he did that to himself, which I know is total BS, a trip to the ER and emergency surgery for $1400 was the result of that. That's why I love knowing that Dulles Exec will take care of my dog and I can trust them to do so. read more

We love Dulles Executive Pet Center. Our dog goes one day per week for day care and on the occasion that we need to board him for one or two days. Our little guy comes home from day care happy and tired and we know he has been out to play with the "other guys" a couple of times during the day. A big thank you to Sean and staff for the love and care they give our furry kid. I would also like to correct the idea that "this place is a mill and that they don't get outdoor times more than a couple times a week". I happen to know for a fact that my dog had group play a couple of times per day out in a large secured (fenced) area. They are provided with blankets in the kennels and when boarding we bring our dog's bed and toys which are kept with him. I have no doubt that the people that care for our little guy do it for the love of the animals. read more

I have been using this facility for many years prior to its new ownership. My dog was there recently for 8 days and lost 9 lbs. I am not accusing this facility with the cause of his weight loss. However when I phoned from my vacation to check on his status; I was informed that he was fine and that he was eating all his food.I followed up with another call after picking him up and at that time a supervisor gave me a completely different account. The actual log stated that he wasn't eating all his food. I should have received an accurate account initially and did not I would not recommend this kennel . read more

I was very hesitant to leave my dogs here for such a long period of time, but ultimately I am glad I did. I took my two pups during the holiday season for two different stays. Both stays were for about 8 days. The staff was very pleasant from the moment we walked in, I was immediately taken for a tour and saw where my pups would be staying. Upon pickup my pups seemed to be very happy to see me, and I was happy to see them doing well. They were very tired once at home, I can only assume they had so much fun there that they couldn't stay awake! They seemed to be well fed and happy, which is what is most important. I will definitely recommend this place to friends and family. You also have the option of requesting additional potty breaks, and playtime. *They have a loyalty program that allows you to get free nights and other perks! read more

This is a horrible place to leave a dog. It's a mill, with up to 300 dogs boarding at any time. They do not get walked or have outdoor time more than a couple times a week; instead, they lie on cement in their kennels. My dogs had to be re-housebroken when we brought them home. I cannot begin to express my concern over the way Dulles Executive Pet Center is run. There is obviously no love for animals being demonstrated - it's a money-making operation and I question the ethics of the veterinarian who runs it. read more

This place is so unprofessional. Every time i sent my dog to a hotel, the hotel will always provide a report on my dog's diet and behavior. At this place, I didn't get any and the receptionist seems like she can't wait to get rid of us. We paid extra for my dog to get a bath. Oh we got the bath but not a BRUSH! So, they don't brush dogs when they shower them? She is a freaking German Shepherd for goodness sake. We didn't pay extra to get my dog to shed. My dog's behavior also changed. She became very moody. I use Dulles Executive Pet Center for doggy day care for my lab mix. The doggy day care has three play times and also feeds your pet. There is a decent sized outdoor play area that is visible when you come up to the building. They have 5, 10, and 30 stay deals. Our dog loves going there to play. It is a short trip to and from the airport and a walk from my work, so it is a very convenient place. read more

I can't say enough about how wonderful the staff and care at Dulles Pet Center. From the moment we walk in with our dogs, we are greeted with enthusiasm. We have had our dogs boarded there on several occasions over the last 5 years and have never had any issues. Dulles Executive Pet Center is HORRIBLE! I boarded my 14 year old Golden over the Labor Day weekend to take a 6 day trip. I only recognized one staff person from previous visits which caught my attention and their check-in and feeding procedures had changed. After 6 days I returned from my trip and called to ask if my dog had been bathed and ready for pick-up. The staff person said he was incapacitated. I rushed to the kennel to find my dog non-responsive lying on a towel in a back room. They said he stopped standing on his own after the 2nd day. I rushed him to his regular vet and finally to an emergency care unit. He died the same day. Yes, he was an old dog but they didn't call me about his condition and they did not call his Vet for help or suggestions. They simply watched his condition get worse without doing anything. I picked up my dog after him being there for 3 days. He reeked of urine, as did his dog bed. The outside area is just and extended area of the inside area, with a doggie door. I expressed an concern when I dropped him off. He is crate trained, and I was concerned that he would not go to the bathroom in that area. I paid for the extra outside time. Instead of keeping an eye on him, to make sure he wasn't going in the kennel, they let him lay in his own pee. I would expect a phone call in that case, to let me know. I could have arranged with them to allow him to have more potty breaks. When I got there to pick him up, that had not written report as to how he did. I asked and the teenager, who was very aloof, simply said, "he did ok". The other boarding facility that we usually go to (it was full) always has a report everyday as to the dog's Bathroom habits for the day, their mood, energy etc. I will not be returning to Dulles "Executive" pet center. read more

I wrote a review a couple of months back for Dulles Executive Pet Center, but it isn't posted. It was an honest review of what we experienced. We we looking for somewhere close by for boarding our dogs, and decided to try them for one night. When we went to drop them off, we noticed the strong, filthy smell on entering the facility, the actual area that the dogs stay in are stacked kennels, and it stunk of urine in there. The noise was deafening and we just could not leave our dogs in this facility. We were actually shocked that anyone would subject their pets to this. If you use this kennel, make sure to see where the dogs are kept--don't just drop them off at the front door. read more

My 2 dogs have been coming here for a few years and LOVE it! They are so excited to go in they don't even stop to sniff. Once in they bolt to the back door. The staff is friendly and my dogs love them. That is the most important thing for us. read more

Was very disappointed in my pets stay. I paid extra for a bath which from his fur and smell he didn't receive. They also lost some of the items that were brought with him. There reason for not being able to find them was "we are too busy to find it". This doesn't make me feel secure leaving my family member there again. If they are too busy to find items then how do they have proper time to care for all the pets? read more

We went to Jamaica for a week, requested extra walking time for our dog, special treats the whole VIP treatment. When we returned we discovered our pet never left his cage even to relieve himself. Dulles Executive Pet Center tried to hide the fact by given him a bath but he reeked of feces and urine. Dulles Executive Pet Center admitted it was a error, waived the fee and said, "hope you come back soon" WTF, would never take a pet there again. read more
