This place is great for large parties and general sushi. Before Covid, they had a ton of great deals on sushi and sake, especially at lunch. This last time I visited, it was not the same. It didn't feel as cozy, just driven by turn-over, and methods to speed food/drink delivery instead of maintaining quality and personal service. It was a good sized portion, included the ever elusive red roasted pork but unfortunately over all it was just okay. It seemed to lack some flavor..pizzaz..it seemed bland. Was a walk in pick up, placed before 11, walked in a 11. Took about 15 mins, only 1 customer in the place. Would I give them another chance..probably. Lunch with a friend. She and her husband loves this restaurant after I introduced them to it. We came in and the bus person brought us water right away. Super nice. The waiter recognized my friend and welcomed her back. We decided on pork spring rolls to start and I went with fish in chili oil and she chose pad Thai. The pork spring rolls were average. So I recently learned that John Holly's is a staple local business, and everyone frequents the restaurant often. I myself just recently discovered the deliciousness of American Chinese cuisine here. From the John holly's sauce to the Singapore rice noodle it's all just so good. I have to admit the star of the show wasn't any of the specialties on the menu, it was the sushi menu they offered. The Tamago is one of the best I've had in Colorado, it was sweet savory and it had a beautiful custard like texture. Top notch I'll go back just for the Tamago. The service was great both times we visited. We were warmly greeted & promptly seated. Both times the bartender was our waiter. He was super knowledgeable of the menu & definitely can shake you up a solid mixed drink. In general the restaurant is tidy & pretty clean. There's a lot of hustle & bustle in the air from the waiters to the cooks & locals dining. It's a great restaurant to visit when that John Holly's craving hits. I ordered lunch from here online for a grouo at work and I received the confirmation email. When it was getting close to the delivery time, I hadn't received any updates so I called. The host who answered was very friendly and was able to get a manager to look into my order. Somehow it was missed but they quickly made it and got it delivered very quickly. The food was excellent and besides the missed order ( but quick rectification) all was great. read more

Heard John Holly's Asian Bistro, the staple in the Park Meadows area is going to introduce some dim sum items, such as hargow, shumai, soup dumplings and many more in the near future. Also, besides the Chinese American plates and sushi on the menu, they also have many off-menu authentic Chinese dishes, Peking Duck is a must try. This is certainly one of my favorite Asian restaurants in the area, with fresh and good quality sashimi, varieties of sushi as well as other tasty entree plates. We brought our extended family here on Christmas Eve. It was a mix of people with very different tastes, but we managed to find things in the menu that everyone loved. The Mongolian beef, crispy honey chicken (and shrimp), cashew chicken, and crab puffs were all huge hits across palettes (and generations). Our favorite Asian restaurant! The service is top notch, the kindest staff. Our favorites are the pepper chicken, any of the sushi rolls, they always deliver- last time the unagi was warm, so just something to be aware of, that was a little different. The john holly chicken is good for the kids, basil chicken for something spicy, drunken noodles and pad Thai. The service is fast, the food is always piping hot and the serving sizes are big, we always order extra so we have leftovers. Do the same for yourself, and you'll thank me ! read more

Hopefully this isn't an indicator of things to come as we generally really like this place. Won ton soup had undercooked won tons and veggies in thin almost watery broth. The eggplant dish had more other veggies than eggplant. And the Peking duck was dried out and overcooked! Meh food at best this evening anyway. read more

We've been going here since they opened years ago. We keep giving them a chance but not the same since new ownership. I'm only reviewing hoping this to help them to improve. Service not as good unless you get one of their longtime servers. (only 2 left!) Sushi/sashimi pieces are smaller, prices higher. We tried it again last weekend and food and service sub-par. This is one of my favorite Asian restaurant to visit in the Lone Tree area. I've been coming here for almost ten plus years. I love coming here for the lunch menu. They have a variety of food options that suits everyone. The price is pretty decent also. Dinner can get busy. I love their portion sizes, it's all shareable family dishes. The flavors has been always amazing with the freshest vegetables. I never had a bad meal here. The sushi always been fresh and decently sized. The service has always been amazing even when they're busy. Were able to do a quick lunch or dinner whenever we visit. Love their casual ambiance. You can dress up or wear sweats. We just LOVE this place!! I've been coming to John Holly's for 20 years, and it has always been consistently fresh, authentic, and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is fun, contemporary, and perfect for a night out with family or friends. Tonight, our family enjoyed a feast: Yushon Chicken, Basil Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, Moo Shu Pork, Beef Lo Mein, Bok Choy, sushi, and Chicken Egg Drop Soup--every dish was outstanding! Our servers, Sean and Gary, always go above and beyond to take wonderful care of us. The owner, Grace, is so warm and welcoming--especially sweet with the kids, even offering them new Legos to play with! To top it all off, they surprised us with complimentary pineapple dragon boats for dessert. John Holly's continues to be one of our all-time favorites. Highly recommend! read more

The Chinese menu surprised us since we came from china and it was the third day that we visited the US, and rally missed the Chinese food. They even had menu in Chinese The food was amazing and authentic. We tried the water fish and Yangzhou fried rice. They were great and we strongly recommended. Our first time at John Holly's and it came recommended to us. The food was delicious. I started with the hot and sour soup, which was exactly how I like it with a nice little burn down your throat. The spring roll was good, but I like the vegetable hot and sour soup more. For our dinner entrees, I had the Kung Pow Chicken. Lots of veggies in it; celery, asparagus stocks, snow peas, green and red bell peppers. The sauce is wonderfully spiced and only occasionally give you a hot bite making you reach for the water. It came with a good portion of white sticky rice. I enjoyed it. My wife had the Vegetable lo-mane. It was very nice with well cooked noodles and broccoli, asparagus stocks and snow peas, and onions. The portions for the dinner was very generous for the price and we felt we could have fed two more people. It is clean and feels like a relaxing sit down and enjoy ambiance. We had a very nice waiter, but it was the owner who really made us feel special. She came by was happy we came and gave a little dessert to enjoy. A warm tapioca soup, which was not exact what I was expecting, but a fun way to feel welcome. She made it special. read more
