Lunch with a friend. She and her husband loves this restaurant after I introduced them to it. We came in and the bus person brought us water right away. Super nice. The waiter recognized my friend and welcomed her back. We decided on pork spring rolls to start and I went with fish in chili oil and she chose pad Thai. The pork spring rolls were average. Fish in chili oil isn't the traditional style I'm used to but it was delicious. And my friend loved her pad Thai. Restaurant wasn't super busy and nice and clean. Parking in shared lot.

So I recently learned that John Holly's is a staple local business, and everyone frequents the restaurant often. I myself just recently discovered the deliciousness of American Chinese cuisine here. From the John holly's sauce to the Singapore rice noodle it's all just so good. I have to admit the star of the show wasn't any of the specialties on the menu, it was the sushi menu they offered. The Tamago is one of the best I've had in Colorado, it was sweet savory and it had a beautiful custard like texture. Top notch I'll go back just for the Tamago. The service was great both times we visited. We were warmly greeted & promptly seated. Both times the bartender was our waiter. He was super knowledgeable of the menu & definitely can shake you up a solid mixed drink. In general the restaurant is tidy & pretty clean. There's a lot of hustle & bustle in the air from the waiters to the cooks & locals dining. It's a great restaurant to visit when that John Holly's craving hits. Trust me you'll keep going back for more.

Heard John Holly's Asian Bistro, the staple in the Park Meadows area is going to introduce some dim sum items, such as hargow, shumai, soup dumplings and many more in the near future. Also, besides the Chinese American plates and sushi on the menu, they also have many off-menu authentic Chinese dishes, Peking Duck is a must try. This is certainly one of my favorite Asian restaurants in the area, with fresh and good quality sashimi, varieties of sushi as well as other tasty entree plates. The service is attentive, ambience is comfortable and the restaurant is spacious with elevated ceiling. Here are their sashimi combo, Mongolian beef and pineapple chicken.

This is inedible food. The rice is mush. The Mongolian beef is 80% onions and the meat itself has a strange odor to it. Don't eat here.

However, within a few minutes of placing the order I received a call, wanting to confirm which location I had wanted to place the order through. I had accidentally chosen the wrong location so they canceled my order and had me place it again online. They called the other individual I was with who also placed an order. This must happen pretty often if they're calling every single person that places an online order and I will say that I did not notice that I picked the wrong location when I placed the order. So I was grateful that they called to confirm. The order was ready when we arrive to the location and everything was accurate. I started with edamame. And I will say it is pretty standard edamame. I also wanted to try a California roll. It was really fresh and I would definitely order one again. My favorite of the appetizers was that Gyoza. Those were so good. I always order them with Ramen in Kansas City but these knocked any of those out of the park. For Ramen, I went with a classic tonkatsu. The menu description said that it came with corn and bok choy, but I was missing both of those items. The Ramen itself was really good. The broth was super rich and they gave you a lot. There were also a lot of Ramen noodles. And I did like the addition of the bamboo shoots. The marinated egg was fantastic. This classic was so tasty. If I lived in the area, I would definitely visit pretty often. There's so many different menu items that looked so good and I'm sure the other Ramen varieties are fantastic as well.

It's definitely giving date night energy: low lighting, candlelit tables, and a cozy-but-busy atmosphere. Every time I've gone it's been pretty packed, but I've never had trouble snagging a seat (and I never make reservations). Honestly, it's become my go-to for a solo night--cocktail in hand, spicy book in the other. My routine? Friday nights. I settle in with my book, order the Thai calamari (which has the perfect punch of flavor), and wait for the 9pm special--$0.99 oysters until close on Fridays and Saturdays. Such a steal. The servers are always great, but Chris really stands out--attentive, kind, and totally gets the vibe of letting me relax and enjoy my drink and my book. I also came during Denver Restaurant Week and did their 3-course menu: calamari (obviously), the sea bass (which surprised me in the best way), and the blood orange olive oil cake... WOW. Light, citrusy, and perfectly balanced--not too sweet, just right. Most recently, I brought my boyfriend and we finally explored more of their oyster selection. Our server guided us based on our flavor preferences, and we loved a few so much we had to order another dozen. This spot is a gem--whether it's a solo unwind night or a cute date. I try to come at least once a month, and it never disappoints.

Nothing tasted all that good - the calamari is drowned in a sweet Thai chili sauce to hide how bad it is. They also have 99 cent happy hour signs plastered everywhere and the waiter made sure to point out "these are the happy hour oysters" but the fine print says that's just for one day in the future. Seems a bit suspect and intentional. Random unexplained "surcharge" of 3.5%. Not worth the money or visit, bland and overpriced food even during happy hour.

That's exactly what happened at East Moon. The menu is huge. Sushi, ramen, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese dishes... basically something for whatever mood you're in. Honestly, I could've made a meal out of those alone. The combination of fish, mango, avocado, sauces, and crispy wonton chips just worked. We also ordered gyoza, beef pad thai, a Hawaiian Dragon Roll, sashimi ceviche, and tonkotsu ramen. Everyone at the table had a different favorite, which is usually a pretty good sign. It's either you go a little north to get to Lone Tree or a little south to get to Castle Rock to find something truly good or even decent. But the past Saturday I got lucky in the very city with something I truly love: Japanese food. After finishing up a job assignment in the very shopping center, if I was going to get food then it had to be something close by preferably a place that was walkable. I then found this place in my quick search. What a simple name! I wasted no time to go and check it out. Inside is clean and simple. Nothing fancy or special about the interior snd yet it's got some Asian touches throughout. My visit to it was met with an amazing service by a young man upfront who was friendly, professional and personable. Didn't get his name but hopefully the accolades I am showering him with by writing this review get noticed by the manager or the owner and that they will go to him personally. After browsing the menu for a good few minutes I set my eyes on the tempura tofu and the seaweed salad. Once my order was placed with him he said it would be 10-15 minutes. The time of arrival was 15 minutes before 6pm. There was only a few tables occupied by diners. The restaurant didn't appear to be busy with online or call-in orders. As such, my food (as he promised) was ready in a timely fashion. I definitely needed to eat my food in the car; I was super famished. And here is my honest and frank assessment for the two items: -Tempura tofu: great portion size for the price of $17 as of this writing in late July of 2026. The tempura tofu pieces were huge. The heat from the oil cooking was still felt as i bit into the tofu. This is a three-layered dish with tempura tofu on top, stir fried vegetables in the second layer and white rice at the bottom. The denseness of the dish is simply thick. -Seasoned salad: this was also a good portion size. The seaweed was placed on top of the greens that were fresh. This can easily be split between two people. After everything I had experienced with this business, I can comfortably say that I could see myself using this restaurant again whenever I see fit although it's, at the same time, not a place where I would drive 20+ minutes just to eat here unless I have other reason to be in the neighborhood.

We made reservations and arrived a little early to a packed restaurant. No surprise considering it was a Friday night, but reminding staff of our reservation created a little bit of a wait for our party of 10. Once we were seated, a nice, young server came to us to take our drink order. Some opted for cocktails, others for soda, some just sipped on water. The selection of sushi rolls, hand rolls, soups, salads and appetizers is outstandingly huge. I was tasked with ordering for the group, so I rattled off 20 ish rolls that seemed good to everyone's liking. Seaweed and Kani salads made their way around the table, along with crispy tuna rice and tempura veggies - a great way to start! YUM! Then....the largest sushi boat I have ever sailed our way - filled to the brim with our rolls and displayed in the most fun and creative way!! I captured a video of the magic and 2.3 million people on TikTok seemed to like it as much as we did! The sushi was fresh, delicious and totally hit the spot. I overordered for our group (some ordered their own entrees) so we left with many to-go boxes for next day's enjoyment! Pricing is on point and reasonable for the quality and freshness of the fish. Our bill for all of us with everything was under $400 which was shocking to me! I will take off 1 star for service. I know our party was huge, requested a large amount of food and drinks, but service lacked. A space for us wasn't ready upon arrival (creating a wait/rush to push tables together for our party), our waters were never refilled, extra plates never cleared, cocktails/beer forgotten (which we didn't end up paying for considering we didn't get it), and the entire experience left us kind of disappointed - but willing to give the place another shot. Having worked in food service, I understand the issues associated with larger parties and the pressure it creates, so I'd come back - and especially for to-go orders! yum!

Please note that I tried things that other people have mentioned in their reviews as things they liked. I had the crunchy tuna appetizer, which was essentially several golf ball sized lumps of rice deep fried, with a tiny amount of tuna and I think avocado on top. It probably should have been called the crunchy rice appetizer, and really was not, to me, worth $14. Next up was the Joker roll, which I believe is mentioned by more than one person as their favorite thing here. If you like pepper, it's the roll for you. I have never had such a peppery sushi roll in my life and I did not like it. My final roll was the mango roll. Now I know what mangoes are and I knew what I was getting, so I can't really blame the restaurant for the fact that I guess I've learned I'm not a big fan of sushi rolls with fruit on them. It was well made for what it was, just not my particular favorite. The miso soup was lovely. The restaurant was nice and clean and as I have said, the service was impeccable, friendly, really everything you would want. Which is all the more reason I was disappointed that the food did not ring a bell with me. If you go to this restaurant, I would suggest you avoid the things I've mentioned and perhaps try some others. You may have better luck than I did, and you will be served well in the process.
