I am so shocked to see these negative reviews- I got take out from here after a visit to the bookstore and the folks working there were super kind at explaining things and I really liked the food! We got egg and chive dumplings, pork belly bowl- all super delicious. I love the dumpling skin- nice and chewy. I am pretty picky about dumplings- can't be too thin, has to be chewy enough but not too doughy. Their dumplings were definitely a perfect thickness and proportion with the filling. I am definitely coming back for more dumplings next time.

I don't hate it and I don't love it. As another Yelper mentioned, this is the 2nd location for this restaurant wand has a condensed menu. Depending where you live, this can be a good central location if you don't want to go all the way to the ID or Edmonds/Lynnwood for some dumplings. The price is definitely high for the amount you get. The dumplings were fine, nothing mind blowing. I do like their dough though because it's a bit chewy which I prefer. The spicy noodles weren't spicy to me but I have a high spice tolerance. I recommend going to the Edmonds location instead, at least I feel like I'm getting my money's worth there.

Chicken and cabbage dumplings (6) for $10.

Ordered the chicken cabbage dumplings (6 of them) for $10 (+tax). They are made fresh, so expect about a 15 min wait if you order them. The restaurant even has a sign up that if you want to order dumplings expect 15 mins and for buns expect 20 min wait. The dumplings are very filling and we're hot temperature wise. There is a lot of filling compared to dumpling skin thickness. However, the flavor was a little bland, so used the soy sauce that was provided. I would be interested in trying other items on the menu; I probably wouldn't order the dumplings again.

    This place. Meh.

Meh. The dumplings, while somehwhat flavorful, didn't travel 15 minutes home very well, not that I had high hopes. If in the area again, I'd order and eat them there to give an honest review. The chili and sauce for the dumplings were good, and the chilled spicy noodles were okay. Kids loved their mango and watermelon boba tea, but my black sugar milk tea for $5 was lacking a sufficient amount of black sugar and, well, tea. It was like very slightly flavored milk. I though that maybe I had to mix it up better, but no, thoroughly mixed it was still just milk. I wouldn't seek this out again, but wouldn't completely reject it if I was hungry after buying books.

Beef rice bowl with a rock and hair for a garnish.

20 min to get the veggy tofu soup with noodles. Not worth the wait. Barely any veggies and tofu. Will not eat here again.

Definitely a no frills place, but it's family run and the food is good. We arrived around 12:45 on a Sunday, at the end of the lunch rush wave. Worked out really well: our server Frank sat us right away, we ordered, and were eating our first dishes within minutes. Perfect! Because we were starving! I had a hankering for pork bao, which I hadn't had in a long time. They were decent. My girlfriend is vegetarian, so all other dishes were vegetarian: dry-fried string beans, general Tso's tofu, and hot and sour food. More than enough for the two of us, and very good and satisfying. Note: General Tso's is usually made with chicken and we asked if it could be made with tofu instead. They had no problem with the request. Portions are ginormous, so bring your appetite!

Given that this is called xiaolongbao house, we should have tried the soup dumplings, but since there were two of us, we got the stir fried green beans and spicy boiled fish (shuijiuyu) as well as some white rice. The spicy boiled fish was DELICIOUS: so spicy, flavorful, with generous portions. The green beans had good flavor but I wish they were crispier. We had a ton of leftovers. We will definitely be back for the other menu items.

The lady serving us was very welcoming and prompt. We got cumin lamb, pan fried xiaolongbao, and wonton soup. The cumin lamb was authentic with rich spices that go so well with rice. So disappointing. Awful food and shockingly bad service from start to finish…read more We should have known better based on the empty yet dirty, unbused tables on the front patio. Once inside, we waited 10 minutes to be seated even though the two couples ahead of us were just paying/picking up and no one was at the host stand. Ordering took another 10 minutes because the QR system kept glitching, failing security codes, and eventually locked us out. To make matters worse, the menus we were handed had half the items crossed out with marker. When seated, the waitress oddly gave us soup bowls and chopsticks -- but no water, no plates, and no napkins. We would spend the next hour repeatedly trying to get those basics. After ordering six mostly dim sum dishes, we tried over and over to flag someone down. No luck. Other tables were clearly frustrated too. The table next to us sent back undercooked pork dumplings. Another table complained they'd been trying to pay for an hour. About 20 minutes later, scallion pancakes arrived -- but we still had no plates. Unable to get anyone's attention, we ate a few pieces leaning over the serving dish. The pancakes were limp, greasy, pale, and unpleasant. Another 10-15 minutes passed before more food arrived. The pork shu mai was decent, but you only get three pieces for about $7 -- overpriced. The xiao long bao (10 for $13) were bland and tasted like frozen dumplings. The steamed BBQ pork buns (only two) were small, chewy, and clearly reheated -- grocery-store quality at best. The pork and shrimp dumplings were worse: hard, dry, super chewy wrappers and poorly cooked filling. When we again asked for plates, napkins, and water, they tried to give us sauce bowls instead. Eventually we got plates -- still no napkins or water. After another 20 minutes of trying to get attention, we were finally given a carafe of water and small orange tea cups. Everyone else had normal water glasses. Still no napkins. I joked they didn't have plates and water glasses because the dishwashers were cooking the food?? Over an hour in, we still hadn't received our beef chow fun. The server eventually asked if we had "gotten it or not" -- clearly we hadn't. We waited another 20 minutes. When the beef chow fun arrived, it was terrible: cheap egg noodles, barely any beef, overloaded with raw and cooked onions, and drowned in a gloppy, overly salty sauce that tasted like bottled Oyster sauce. Even Panda Express does this better. That dish alone was $17. We immediately asked for to-go boxes, yet were told to "take your time," which was baffling after waiting so long. Paying was another ordeal -- you could order, but couldn't pay through QR option, and other tables were still unable to close out. One table had to walk to the host stand out of frustration. That same table had kept borrowing our table's condiments because their table had none and they also couldn't get server. We went in expecting a quick dinner and instead got servers who couldn't provide simple basics like plates, napkins, or water, couldn't bus tables, and couldn't close checks efficiently -- all while serving bland to terrible food at high prices. We paid $70. For the first time ever, we didn't leave a tip. If basic service requires asking over half a dozen times, that's unacceptable. Also having served in college, while busy, the number of servers seemed sufficient...they were just bad at their jobs. $35 per person for bad food and worse service does not work for us. We won't be back.

Legend has it that tens of thousands of years ago, our ancestors lived by eating raw meat and…read moredrinking blood. One day, lightning struck a tree, causing a massive forest fire that killed many animals. Our ancestors then discovered that cooked meat tasted much better than raw meat. This is why roast meat has always been regarded as an important part of the human diet. Today I gathered with friends and chose this barbecue restaurant. It's located north of Redmond, with a prominent sign and plenty of parking. Ambiance: The decor is creative, but it feels quite contradictory. Barbecue is inherently a very "Jianghu" (lively, rough-and-tumble) kind of thing, yet the restaurant leans toward an artistic, literary style. When I used to run my own restaurant, I followed a principle: avoid anything unrelated to the core dining experience. Seeing many books on the shelves here, I understand they're trying to bridge Jianghu and artistry -- but it clearly feels out of place. That said, the place is very clean, and the stickers/decorations are festive. Service: My high rating for this restaurant is largely based on the service. After we sat down, we were given free appetizers -- braised peanuts, which tasted great. The staff training is very professional, whether it's taking orders, making recommendations, attending to us during the meal, or checking on tables and refilling water. All excellent. Taste: Jianghu-style cuisine is characterized by boldness, satisfaction, and not sweating the small details. We ordered spicy hot pot (Malatang), spicy hot pot skewers, grilled beef, lamb, chicken gizzards, oysters, and many other items. First, the Malatang and spicy skewers tasted almost identical, so it felt like eating the same thing. The grilled skewers were just average -- neither good nor bad. The oysters were very tasty. However, the shrimp in the spicy skewers were very unfresh, which was disappointing. "By the way, the prices at 'Friendship Skewers' are anything but friendly -- I think it's quite overpriced overall."
