Okay i will start by saying that the food is enjoyable. However, i do believe they're a bit understaffed. I believe there was one server on this saturday morning. she sat us and we asked for a high chair immediately but didn't receive it for a while, we also didn't receive water for a while until a bit after we ordered. My favorites were the house fried rice and the cheese rangoons. i thought the shanghai fried noodles were a little too thick, but of course that's personal preference. the soup dumplings are pretty yum. Sad, had high hopes for this place after reading some reviews. DON'T ORDER Cucumber salad- reviews were correct, soggy and mushy. Definitely, not made the same morning/day. Please Chef&Owner, correct this in the kitchen. Chop fresh cucumbers daily! ALMOST FELT LIKE SENDING another 2 dishes back. Both the garlic noodles were bland and not enough garlic and the Shanghai Fried noodles tasted just the garlic noodles but with a dark soy sauce . (When you have to tell your cousin "we'll just take it home and season it better" is a huge clue, they staff doesnt taste the food they cook. In house chili sauce (on the table) tasted off as well. Not sure what it was, but it wasn't great. House special beef rolls- meat was soo dry. Tasted dry old and it should have been boiled hot in broth before putting it on the roti. the cucumber salad in it tasted like it had sugar. It was weird sweet not in a good taste. Of course the Roti wrap was yummy- they dont make it. House special Soup spicy pork dumplings- the soup was pure pork fat grey solids- they use cheap pork ground meat. One bite and you see it. The food from here is decent. Everything is reasonably priced and the portions are big. My favorite items were the house special beef rolls and the Sichuan wontons. The house special beef rolls had a lot of beef in them, and a good flavor along with the crunchiness of onions and cucumbers. The Sichuan wontons were yummy and very umami. A few things that I didn't enjoy as much was the pork XLB had a very gamey taste to it and the broth inside was filled with impurities. It is one of their "hearted" items.. meaning it is a house favorite. The roll is cut into four big pieces and I was able to stuff down three but two would have been perfect. I was in a rush and they seated me quickly but did not take my order as quickly as I was seated. I only had 30 minutes and got my order with just ten minutes left to pay and drive back to work. Now after i finally got a chance to finally try it, here's my personal take but i must say that my comment is purely based on my own opinion. We all have different taste buds and different experiences with this restaurant: - The signature beef roll was underwhelming: two pieces cut into four portions felt like poor value, and I ultimately discarded leftovers after two days in the fridge. I still can't figure out what is so special with that dish. I can't hardly finish one of the piece That particular dish is tasteless - Seafood fried rice lacked actual seafood parts on it and tasted decent mainly due to MSG rather than quality ingredients. - Four small pork shumai for $9 seemed overpriced. - Overall bill approached $72 for four dishes (before tip), which felt excessive given the portion quality and value. - We've had consistently better experiences and value from China Palace for dim sum and overall service. read more

This place is so good and that house beef roll is amazing! That was my favorite dish and it's a meal all on its own it's fresh, crispy and the beef seasoned to perfection. The ambience of the restaurant is great they were playing early 2000's music like Monica, Ciara, Beyonce, etc., never care to have an opinion of the music choice, but I loved the choice. We were helped by the owner's mom, who was there lending a hand and she was absolutely amazing. So friendly, warm, and knowledgeable! She told us she's Shanghainese and shared a bit about her background, which made everything feel extra special. She even helped us decide what to order and made great recommendations. She also let us know that the food takes a little while to come out because everything is made fresh, and you can taste it. It's 100% worth the wait. The food was incredible! Our favorites were the spicy pork soup dumplings and the Shanghai fried noodles, but we also loved the deep-fried gyoza and the pan-fried pork buns were good. The drinks were delicious too. We had the Honey Jasmine tea, and the 100% natural lemonade. I wish my phone hadn't died. I usually take pictures of meals this yummy! My mother-in-law loved it so much when she went with her brother, and then again with me today, she told the owner's mom this is going to be our Friday dumpling day, and I couldn't agree more. So excited for this place to open up in the Central Valley. I was feeling under the weather and didn't feel like cooking so I ordered take out. Since I was super excited about trying everything, I had a difficult time trying to figure out what I wanted. I eventually got myself together and ordered: pork soup dumplings, pork and crab soup dumplings, Taiwanese braised beef noodle soup, and fried green beans. The soup dumplings were jam packed with flavor but were on the salty side. The pork and crab dumplings were particularly tasty, but it does have a strong seafood taste to it. The beef noodle soup was hearty and very comforting. I wished the beef was more tender, my toddler had a little difficulty chewing through it but still enjoyed the dish. We ordered to go and it came with utensils and napkins. The not so good: the soup dumplings had bamboo shoots and that was something I was not aware of. The bamboo shoots have a very distinct flavor that is a mix of ammonia and sulfur and I don't like that at all. I always ask for no bamboo shoots if that is an option but didn't know this was already mixed in with the filling. The dumpling has a thicker skin that sticks to each other in the container so when you try to pick one up, it tears and all the soup spills out unfortunately. If you tried the dumplings from 88 bao bao, the dumplings don't tear. read more
