I decided to give M Kitchen Buffet a try after reading the Yelp reviews, and I'm glad I did. There aren't a lot of great Chinese buffet options in the area, so I came in with reasonable expectations, and this place exceeded them. Before I get into the review, I think it's only fair to mention that I rate buffets differently than traditional restaurants. My expectations are based on other buffets, where freshness, consistency, food rotation, and value matter just as much as presentation. This feels more like a small, family-owned neighborhood buffet than a large commercial chain, and I actually think that's part of its charm. The buffet isn't huge, but I'd rather have a smaller selection that's done well than a massive buffet where half the food has been sitting under heat lamps for hours. I sampled most of the buffet, and overall I was impressed. My favorite dishes were the beef chow fun noodles, chow mein, honey pork, fried rice, teriyaki chicken, and the spicy chicken wings. The wings were especially good, they were nice and meaty with a great flavor and weren't loaded with fat like buffet wings sometimes are. Other solid choices were the sweet and sour pork, broccoli beef, and fried green beans. The only items that didn't really stand out to me were the vegetable egg rolls and crab rangoons. They weren't bad by any means, just average compared to the rest of the buffet. One thing that really stood out was how well the buffet was maintained. A staff member was constantly cleaning, rotating trays, and refilling food, so everything stayed warm and fresh throughout my visit. I never came across anything that was cold or looked like it had been sitting for a long time. The soda station was clean, drinks were self-serve, and the staff was friendly whenever I interacted with them. Most of the customers seemed to be ordering takeout rather than dining in, and after seeing the portions, I completely understand why. The takeout containers were packed so full they were almost difficult to close. For the price, the value here is outstanding. The only reason I'm not giving this place five stars comes down to presentation. The dining room itself is clean, but it's very simple. From the drink station you can see directly into part of the kitchen, and the plumbing underneath the soda and ice machine is exposed, which makes the restaurant feel less polished. I didn't see anything that made me question the cleanliness or food safety; it was more of an aesthetic issue than a sanitation concern, but it does affect the overall atmosphere. That said, when I judge this place as a buffet rather than comparing it to a full-service restaurant, the food quality, freshness, service, and value easily outweigh those cosmetic issues. We biked from Dublin and stopped by to eat. They allowed us to park inside so that was a plus else we would have to eat elsewhere since we didn't want to leave our bikes outside unattended. We were greeted by Megan who described each dish to us. She was so hospitable and friendly! Food was excellent and the all you and drink option was priced right. Was heading to the in-laws and decided to pickup food, did a quick search on Yelp and found M Kitchen. Exited 99 South and ended up driving through the country which felt like we were on our way to nowhere before ending up in an industrial looking iffy part of town. Parked and was debating going in because of the area, while parked 3 families arrived, asked one of the families if the place was good and they let us know it was their family favorite that had something for everyone. Went in and the place was surprisingly large, open, clean and the food looked good. Found out it was a buffet and prices are CHEAP. Decided to try the buffet and had the Hubbs and kiddo come in. Both the Hubbs and kiddo loved it, this is fresh Chinese American food with the mandatory fried sweet dishes. I enjoyed the spicy chicken, fresh broccoli, fried shrimp, cream cheese wontons AND what seemed more like Japanese style stuffed jalapeños and stuffed mushrooms. They also had sweet sesame balls. All that for less than $10 for dinner?! 2 adult buffets, kid buffet and a 3-item to go that was so packed that the in-laws had it for dinner & lunch the next day and it came out to less than $40?!?! I felt guilty at how cheap it was and gave a $10 tip. They attract a nice diversity of patrons; families included Black, Filipino, Mexican, White and our mixed bag. Majority of business was food to go. Staff appeared to be the owners, and were very friendly, what seemed like the dad let me know that his favorites are also the mushrooms and jalapeños too. It's an older building, but you come inside and they have great meal deals. They have 2 items for 755 three items for 895 and four item for 995 and then they have a lunch buffet for 1095 dinner buffet for 1195 and the drinks are 225. The food is fresh. It's very tasty. This place is worth every buck. I normally go to Sherman but now I finally search for fast take out near where I'm at and also on my way to work. The food was delicious cook very well and fresh I'm not a picky eater so this place is very convenient. Only slight issue is parking you have to park on street or be patient with the parking since it's pretty small. Inside very specious for dine in. Service was very good, next to another restaurant as well I didn't recall what it was but yeah I was in and out less than 5min. They also have other item on menu didn't mention cause I was to sure but I did see people order soup to go. Price is very low. If you ever need Chinese food to go or catering this spot is perfect. We had to go for the buffet of course there were so many options and they replenished constantly so everything was hot and fresh!
