Love this place. I've been coming to dumpsters for several years between on/off boardwalk. Prices are reasonable and you get a lot. Service is always fast and friendly.

    Coffee cone, pistachio cup.

Service was polite (maybe too efficient since from the photo they clearly cross-contaminate the scoops) but the cone & dairy just weren't worth the calories. Texture was fine but flavor-wise the coffee tasted weak. Skip the pistachio completely, it just tastes like artificial sweetness. I think next time I'll order ice water from someplace when I want to feel cooled off on the boardwalk.

Can't visit ocean city & not get some ice cream from Dumders. This time I tried the original location on the boardwalk. Delicious but messy to eat ! They gave so much ( which was great) but it started melting all over me and the boardwalk so be mindful

Had to stop by and grab a nice treat. Dumsers always hits the spot and love how quick it is to grab something. The line was a little longer but they have multiple people working which makes it go really quick. I'm simple and just grabbed vanilla but they have lots of options

The hype about Dumsers is legit. Their soft serve is sooooo good. Their milkshakes are creamy and delicious. And their service is quick and friendly. A chocolate/vanilla twist soft serve dipped in peanut butter: PERFECTION. This place is a must try!

Amazing !! Can't walk on the boardwalk and not get some goodies. Dad wanted ice cream so ice cream it is. He got butter pecan , I got coffee. Many flavors to choose from! Definitely coming back before we leave. Great service.

We were in OCMD for vacation this past June and of course, we had to cruise the boards with our kids (5 and 7). Of course the evening had to be closed out with some ice cream, as it just wouldn't be a night out without it! We grabbed some cones for the 4 of us and headed over to get a sear. Well, our 5 year old dropped her cone and was pretty bummed. I went to the counter, told them what happened, and offered to buy a new cone. The manager wasn't having that and told the young lady making the cone that it was on the house. Excellent customer service. Even better ice cream! We will be back next summer, no doubt about it!

Dumser's Dairyland is a small chain of gourmet creameries that opened in Ocean City, Maryland in 1939. It was founded by Gladys Dumser. She and her husband Bernie Thrush had originally sold frozen custard on the Ocean City Boardwalk beginning in 1934. Five years later, she began making homemade ice cream and selling it from a shop on the boardwalk at Wicomico Street. At the time she served vanilla, chocolate, cherry vanilla and chocolate fudge and sold each cone for a nickel. The business was originally named Bernie's Dairyland after her husband. Following a divorce, Gladys married Peter Dumser and the business was renamed. A second location opened further down the Boardwalk in 1972. Dumser sold the business to Donald Timmons in 1981 after her children and grandchildren decided to pursue other opportunities. Dumser passed away in 1993. Today Dumser's Dairyland has seven locations in Ocean City. The original location on Wicomico Street still stands and still uses the same machines that were installed in 1968. My family and I recently visited Dumser's Dairyland while we were on an East Coast Road Trip. After an afternoon playing vintage arcade games at Marty's Playland, we decided to head back out on the boardwalk and see if there were any good ice cream places nearby. Just a short walk from the arcade was the second Dumser's location that ever opened. After looking over their extensive menu, my wife decided to get an Oreo Crush milkshake, our son had a cup of Oreo Crush, and I had a Mint Chocolate Chip milkshake. We were all very happy with our choices; this was excellent ice cream. Dumser's also refer to their milkshakes as "thick shakes" and they call them that for a reason. We'll definitely be stopping at a Dumser's location on our next trip to Ocean City.

An OC tradition. You can't go wrong with any ice cream from Dumsers, from any of their OC locations. Staff was friendly and super quick at preparing awesome cones. This location is a walk up stand and you're on your way to lick and enjoy the rest of the boardwalk!

This ice cream shop is all over the place in Ocean City. There's Always a long line and I guess it's one of the staples. Been on the boardwalk since the 50's. There's a large selection to choose from waffle cones, sprinkles, etc to go with the ice cream. My coconut chocolate chip was almost tasteless. The chocolate chip used were the mini morsels. It was very hard and dry. The flavor were ok. My mom's ice cream Hawaiian delight, was better. It did lacked some of the flavor like banana. I'm still glad I had a chance to try them out!

Few people in line on a cool September day but the ice cream still tasted delicious!

Bottom Line: One of the most popular ice cream spots on the Boardwalk serving soft serve, hand dipped ice cream and milkshakes. I should preface this review by noting that I am not a huge ice cream eater but when in Ocean City, do as the Ocean Citians do and eat ice cream, or something like that. I got a cup of peanut butter chocolate chip and enjoyed it. It was a cool September afternoon so there weren't any lines, which was nice. I thought the ice cream was rich, creamy, firm and flavorful, just as it should be. And silly as it sounds, I like the white diary farm inspired building. Like most spots on the boardwalk, this is a walk up counter and there are only a few benches on which to sit to enjoy your sweet treat so consider taking it for a stroll, plopping in the sand or finding an open bench nearby.

The service was quick to take our order and the ice cream was very good. On our second visit we had three shakes. Another customer took one of the three and then looked at us as if we were wrong so we had to wait for it to be remade. There was no way for the customers to know which order was being put up as they only call what the shake is and not an order number or some identification.

Apathetic service and uninspired ice cream. This location is on the boardwalk and is therefore super busy. The employees look exhausted and don't seem to care about anything. For an ice cream place, it's surely much drearier than you'd think. I got the oreo ice cream and it tasted like the cheapest one you can get at the grocery store.

Best milkshakes! Delicious and thick shakes. My favorite treat on the boardwalk and it's easier to manage when you're chasing kids around.

(they had EDIBLE STRAWS today - woah!!!) Our cashier was so young and sweet -- his name was "tarik?" -- he reviewed everything and fixed an error in our order as soon as he noticed it. :) COOKIE MONSTER // ROLL - we watched someone behind the glass decimate two cookies and combine the crumbles with a vanilla ice cream base. next we watched him elegantly drizzle chocolate syrup. It was so satisfying to look at. - can't go wrong with vanilla. lovely presentation. Famous for its retro 1940s-style ice cream parlor decor--complete with high-back booths, ice cream counter service, and vintage charm--the shop makes its ice cream fresh daily right on the premises using classic, original recipes. Using their exact menu terminology, here is how the ice cream offerings break down: Butter Pecan Ice Cream: Made fresh daily on the premises, featuring a rich, old-fashioned cream base folded with buttery, crunchy pecans. (It also serves as the base for their popular Southern Treat Sundae, topped with butterscotch and chopped almonds). Thick Milk Shakes (Chocolate): Hand-dipped using their house-made chocolate ice cream and blended thick with milk. In classic soda fountain style, milkshakes are served in a tall glass topped with whipped cream, with the extra left over served right alongside in the stainless steel mixing cup. Service is fast, friendly, and quintessential beach-town nostalgia. An essential stop for traditional hand-dipped ice cream and shakes when visiting Ocean City.
