Cool location! After eating Dumser's at every boardwalk location all week, we stopped here after an evening of fishing. I thought driving down to this end of the island would be chaotic, but it wasn't at all... even on a Friday night. I street parked right outside. Dumser's sells an outstanding soft serve product. In comparing it to other premium boardwalk soft serve ice creams from OC all the way up the Jersey shore, they're definitely one of my favorites. There's something about their ice cream that had me eating it slowly, savoring it, and it wasn't even melting away on me. Each lick tasted so creamy that I just didn't need to scarf it down fast. Plus, their prices are quite reasonable too. About this location specifically, it has plenty of tables inside to sit down. All the others along the boardwalk are walk-up counters, so this is a nice option if you actually want to sit and enjoy your ice cream. Definitely hit it up! Oh, and no credit card fee. read more

We were craving ice cream and voila, we came upon Dumsers! We ordered a strawberry cone, banana cone and cherry soda. All were delicious! The cherry soda isn't overly sweet, so it pairs well with the vanilla ice cream. It was only about $12 for our cold treats so a great value! On our next visit we want to try a sundae, a dole whip and a root beer float! This is a place you can visit multiple times and get a different treat each time. read more

Eh, I'd rather visit king Kone on streetside. This location us on the boardwalk. Is there a line? Where does it start and end? Once you order where do you stand then, to get your cone? A mess. Plus it was hard to hear all the options the were advising when everyone is scream talking. My faughters waffle cone was cracked and ice cream started to run down the side. I mean for something like that you can never have enough napkins. And my 2 scoop, hand scooped ice cream was tilted and falling over when she handed it to me. 2 scoops already falling over? Come on. It's like they stuck the second scoop on the side of the first scoop, not the top like normal ice cream cone. Got me on that one. Hard to take pics with sticky hands. I'll pass. read more

I came here on a Saturday afternoon since I was walking on the boardwalk. I ordered the orange twist soft serve ice cream cone. The portion was huge! You definitely get your money's worth. It melts fast so you have to eat fast. The soft serve ice cream was delicious and had pretty strong orange flavor. The staff were very friendly and fast. Found this gem, a little piece of history actually, while on vacation. It was about to rain, kids were bored and hungry, we just needed a little friendly comfort. And that we found at Doumar's. Reminiscent of the 50's drive in restaurant, we parked under an awning, confused on what to do. A helpful, smiling young lady... I only wish she was on roller skates... came right over to us in between the 12 other cars she was serving. After the indoctrination, we ordered and took her suggestions. The food came quickly, was delicious and the entire experience was exactly what we needed to regroup for the rest of the day. Ice cream after the meal... like icing on my cake, made for an even better experience. The positive interaction between that one employee and us made all the difference. I tipped well, if you go.. you should too. And if the owners are reading this... keep doing what your doing, not enough business left that seem to care enough about the customer and the employees. read more

I found it weird that the girls behind the counter couldn't really speak English, and when I asked them if they would recommend the soft serve or the ice cream, they proceeded to explain what a self-serve for ice cream is. We went here for lunch before our tour started at Seacrets Distillery and I had a burger and fries and my wife had the two piece fried chicken. I'll start with my burger...it was average at best and the small fries were more large than small,but very good.My wife said the fried chicken was very good,but I will warn,which wasn't stated till after we placed the order,the chicken takes about 20-30 minutes to cook.So,if you have a tour or something else you want to do,keep that in mind.We then went there after the tour and got a couple of sundaes.My wife got the butterscotch sundae and said it was one of the best she's ever had.I got the hot fudge with marshmallow topping and it was delicious as well.They have some of the smoothest and creamiest ice cream I have had. read more

How in the world can you walk on the boardwalk and not get ice cream at Dumsers? I certainly can't and certainly didn't during an evening stroll. This location is one of several and, although I resisted the previous stand, I caved and stopped at this one for a treat: a peanut butter cone with chocolate dip. Lord have mercy! It was like a frozen Reese's cup. The only thing holding back a fifth star was the service. If you're not aware, numerous boardwalk restaurants and businesses hire foreigners to work during the summer, some of which are English-challenged. That's not the issue. Rather, it was the outright attitude and non-verbal communication (sighing, eye rolling) the Russian girl gave me when I told her I wanted a waffle cone instead of cake cone prior to her scooping the ice cream. Even the guy standing beside me chuckled and went "Wow!" At that point I thought about waiting until right before she handed me the cone and saying, "Actually, I changed my mind. Dumser's is an Institution on the boardwalk. They make the absolute best swirly soft serve orange creamsicle cone thingie I have ever tasted. In my life. The chocolateXvanilla swirly thingie is basically regular and the regular vanilla base is just regular but that orange stuff. Holy rusted metal. The best one is the one right near the restrooms slightly down the way from the part of the boardwalk where the rides are. It's in that just right spot for when you've walked from that faraway place you had to park and you're not sure you're gonna make it to the rides and you're about to give up all hope and become a waif and this ice cream will save you. Amazing ice cream on a hot summer day! I was in between this place and Kohr's and I'm happy with my choice. I'm someone who always gets cookie dough and I wasn't disappointed. I judge my cookie dough by how loaded the ice cream is (because plain vanilla with one cookie dough chunk is lame). My cone was so full of chocolate chips and cookie dough, I was in heaven!! This is the perfect place to get a bellyache with a smile. You can try to split a sundae, but inevitably will hover over it and eat it all yourself. The maple walnut sauce will add to the bellyache, and the resulting sugar high. So you'll be giggling while holding onto your tummy. We didn't go to this exact location even though it was across the street from the condo we were staying in, but rather we went to the boardwalk location near the Jolly Roger amusement park. I love soft serve ice cream and the ice cream from Dumser's had to be the best I have ever tasted. I wish they had locations in OC NJ, because I was only in Maryland for work and it's too far of a drive to come back for a personal trip. My boss recommended it (specifically the store on Philadelphia ave because of its convenient location) and we were initially turned off because we thought he had said "dumpster's," but I'm really glad we tried it. Seriously, when they can make vanilla soft serve taste that amazing, they'll be in business for 7 more decades. The staff we encountered were really nice and the boardwalk location has a sheltered place to sit out of the sun and away from the feathery scavengers. The brand has I believe 7 locations around OCMD and I would be thrilled to death if they would expand even farther. read more
