The garlic cucumbers are delicious! I think it would taste even better with some chili oil on it. The stir fry pork chick pea noodles were pretty good. I got it to go so I think everything would've taste even better if I had dine it. I definitely want to try their signature soup noodles! The service was great with a friendly cashier. There's plenty of seating and the food came out quick!
The place is modernly decorated. I ordered the combo meal for $15.95, and it comes with noodles: soda, and pickled vegetables. The noodle was very good. The pickled vegetables needed to be more marinated.
Food: The noodles are delicious here! The noodle texture is perfect and so fresh. Flavors of the broth are excellent. The lamb skewers were very moist and flavorful. I would recommend the skewers here as well as the Chongqing spicy noodles. Service: Service was good and staff were friendly. Ambiance: The restaurant is a good size with tables for both small and large groups. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant!
Super super yummy. As an avid beef noodle soup fan, I was impressed. I ordered the signature Lanzhou beef noodles, braised beef noodles, and lamb skewers. The signature noodles were made perfectly, it came with thinly sliced beef which I loved and the broth had a lot of chili oil. You can pick what type of noodles you want, I prefer thin noodles and it complimented the broth. The skewers were spicy but still cooked to perfection. Service was nice, even though it was just two of us, we sat in a big booth. Place was spacious, good service, clean bathrooms. Definitely returning!

Dunhuang has been on my list of beef noodle soup spots to try for years. It's been so long that they even moved locations down 37th Ave towards Main Street. I finally decided to go on a Friday night and was glad there was no wait. The restaurant seemed like a fast casual spot but there were still waiters taking orders. We ordered the N1 Signature Lanzhou beef noodles, N6 Chongqing noodles, G2 Dry pot pork intestines, and H1 Spicy cumin lamb burger. Both the noodles came out very quickly. The Lanzhou noodles looked promising with chunks of beef and toppings. The broth was very simple and quite plain in my opinion. The noodles were abundant but a bit overcooked. The Chongqing noodles didn't look very appealing with only a couple of bok choy as toppings. I wished they allowed us to add some beef for an additional cost but didn't see that option. The flavors were stronger than the signature noodles and similar to malatang, but not as salty. The noodles for this was cooked perfectly and had a great bounce. However, the dish as a whole just lacked substance and could have used more ingredients. The spicy lamb burger came next and it was decently filled. The breading was doughy and the seasoning was not memorable. For $6 I could find a better and tastier lamb burger. Lastly came the dry pot pork intestines. It was a pretty large entree filled with pork intestines and vegetables. The flavors were good but my main issue with this dish was the texture of the pork intestines. I believe they were deep fried prior to stir frying in hot oil, but instead of crispy, it was gummy-like and I did not appreciate it. Overall, we were quite disappointed and unsatisfied with this meal.

I was pleasantly surprised by this noodle shop. I had the featured beef noodle soup and it's everything you would imagine with a good beef noodle soup. Even the skewers were good, esp the chicken skin and chicken heart. The lamb were kind of dry, I wouldn't get it again.
The service was not the standard expected for a sit down restaurant. We did get hot tea as soon as we sat, but they didn't give us plates for appetizers. When asked, just the person asking got one. The birthday cake we brought after calling and asking if it's okay to have it at the restaurant was brought to the table in the bag and box. No effort was made to make it serviceable so we decided to just leave and have it at home. The parking lot in the back was full so that was worthless. The food was meh. We ordered chicken wings, eggplant salad, mung bean noodle salad, various BBQ skewers, various noodles, pork burger and lamb burgers. We had 13 people so lots of different things ordered since it was our first time trying. I don't think I'll go back. Despite our reservation, they asked if we wanted two booth in the back. We waited to get a long row of tables put together up front. It was not too noisy so we were able to have conversations.
Came here for dinner with my brother and a friend. Got a nice booth off to the side. Great prices for everything. Ordered the chicken and the Beef Tendon skewers. Luckily my friend reads Chinese bc the skewer menu is in Chinese. The skewers were great, Chicken very tender. I ordered the signature Lanzhou Beef Noodles. They messed up my order by giving me regular noodles when I had ordered Wide Noodles. Was expecting the dish to be spicier but it was still very delicious. My brother ordered the Zha Jiang noodles and my friend ordered the Beef Noodle with Pickled Mustard. We all devoured our dishes. Definately will be back to try the other dishes.
I've been here a few times already and I can say the noodles here are excellent. I like that you can order your noodles based on types. ie regular, thick, wide, extra wide. Noodles are freshly made and super long. Ask for a pair of scissors to cut! My kids favorite is the original lanzhou beef noodles with regular noodles. The Liang pi was good the first time I had it but I wish it had more gulten. Tomato egg noodles- this was ok if you like that starchy taste Zha jiang noodles- this was my favorite. Very flavorful. I also like that food comes out super fast. There's chilli oil on the table but it is not spicy at all. Another plus is that there's a small parking lot which is hard to come by in Flushing.

I ordered the signature lan Zhou beef noodle, the chong ching noodle and the intestine hotpot. The best dish of the night was the chong ching noodle as it had a nice chilli oil flavor, however the dish was overall very bland, came topped with bok choi only and did not have any proteins. The intestine tasted bizarrely sweet, was not a big fan of that. The signature lanzhou noodle is one of the blandest soup noodles ive ever tasted, it might as well been a soup noodle with red food coloring since the dish had absolutely no flavor. Probably one of the blandest noodles ive ever had packaged in an elegant and clean setting, either way I won't be back since, for me, food quality always supersedes setting

In the area for some shopping & we decided to give these guys a try for some food. Once seated Drinks, Ginger ale & Sprite not bad, settled on the sodas since they were out of the Asian beer. Apps we tried the Me crispy flatbread this was intense a lot of flavor which was a bit overpowering. On the food we had the Original Lanzhou beef noodles they were good nice tasting broth & Zha jiang noodles these were great , chopped meat & noddles very tasty. Dunhuang should change their name to highlight their skewers because their skewers were the highlight of the meal. But the noodles are cool too. Ambiance is casual but nice, our party of four was seated in a comfortable booth and the service was quick. We ordered the lamb skewers, three signature Lanzhou Beef noodles and an order Chongqing Spicy cold noodles. The skewers came out piping hot and were well seasoned, juicy, and tender. The Lanzhou Beef Noodles are decent and easily elevated by the chili oil and vinegar that they provide at each table. Sadly no matter how much chili oil you add, you don't really get the hit of spice you're looking for. They don't give a lot of protein either but for 11 dollars it is what it is. The Chongqing cold noodles were sadly not that flavorful but the noodle texture was better than the ones For a quick and affordable meal I would come to Dunhuang. But I don't think I would come for the noodles. Maybe I'll try one of the other locations to compare and contrast. read more
Life is short. F.....it up! Family, Flavor, Friends. While in NYC over the weekend was looking for summer beef noodle soup. There place had good reviews. Walking in I noticed they had a skewer kart in the front. But it was part of the menu..great idea. We got there beef noodle soup and Dan Dan noodles. There noodles were nicer and chewy. The soup was very beefy and refined but a touch of nutty hot chili oil and you're having as good day. The DanDan was I lil bland add some salt and it kicked the savory scale up a notch. Inside the restaurant is clean and spacious. When I walked in they said I could sit anywhere. They asked if I wanted water or tea and handed me a menu. I ordered the braised beef noodles. The food arrived in ten minutes. The bowl was huge. I tried the soup first. It was a little salty and not too spicy. The noodles were handmade and it shows. They were springy and had a good chew. There were lots of pieces of beef. It's not the best quality of beef, full of tendon and gristle but it had strong beef flavor. I like the bok choi which added a different texture to the dish. They changed locations, and it is now located closer to main street. I ended up going to the original location, and that's where I found this out. They were kind enough to point me in the right direction. I went to the new location, and it's much larger and more pmodernized compared to the older version. Foodwise, I got the wood-ear mushroom salad, which was a bit bland, so I was able to put chili oil on it, and it gave it a better flavor. I also got the signature Lanzhou Beef Noodles, which came in a soup. It was just average, but price point wise, it was evenly matched. The noodles... the texture is amazing and has a great flavor to them. You can sometimes hear from the sitting area that the noodles are being handmade. The soups you can order with them work incredibly well and coat the noodles with every bite. I highly recommend you go there with at least another person so you can share a bowl of noodles and order the lamb skewers and lamb "burger/sandwich". Service was great and has plenty of seating area. read more
Nothing is more satisfying on a cold winter's day than a bowl of steaming hot noodles. Our table tried the the signature beef noodles, the beef stew noodles with pickled mustard greens, the zhajiangmian, and a lamb burger. The noodles had a lovely chew and tasted fresh. The pickled mustard bowl was surprisingly more spicy than expected, but the beef pieces were fantastic. My favorite, however, was the zhajiangmian, which was surprisingly light for such a dense dish. The hubs enjoyed his lamb burger and would get it again. Service is friendly and efficient, the space is basic but clean (including the bathroom!), and prices are fair for what you get. I'll definitely return when I'm in Flushing, and now I'm looking forward to checking out one of their other locations in the city. read more

Review of a Saturday lunch. We started with a cold spicy chicken dish. I thought the heat was perfect. Lamb ribs were nicely seasoned and tender. The beef noodle soup was on point. I came for lunch and there were plenty of available seats. The servers were attentive. We tried some skewers and noodles. The food was tasty. I got the Lanzhou Beef Noodles. The noodles came out quickly. They were firm, and the slices of beef were tender. The chili oil wasn't too spicy, but it was flavorful. The prices are great. read more
All noodles are handmade and it shows in the taste and texture. Depending on the type, they can be hand-pulled (thin) or cut from a sheet (wide). You can specify the width of your noodles for any noodle dish you order. Your choices are: Thin, Regular, Thick, Wide & X-Wide. I love wide pastas like pappardelle, so I ordered the X-Wide for my Beef Noodle Soup. The noodles are cut about 1/2" wide and the edges curl up like lasagna when cooked. They go great with the mild flavored broth and slices of beef and daikon radish. It's also loaded with cilantro, my favorite herb & garnish. After the noodles & beef are gone, I slurp up the bowl of soup. You get a large ladle/spoon, but who needs that? Table manners? Pffft, I'm not too proud to lift the bowl up and drain every last drop. To supplement the noodle dishes, the cold appetizers are pretty good. The Woods Ear Salad was a little more vinegary than I'd like, but my wife likes it that way. The rubbery texture and bite were perfect though. The Spicy Sliced Beef & Tripe is what I liked, with the perfect level of heat for me. If we were more hungry, I would have ordered the Cumin Lamb Buns and maybe some Lamb skewers, but that's saved for next time! read more

Been here a few times since they opened and it never disappoints! The soup is super flavorful and meat plentiful and tender. The combo is my usual go to, it comes with pickled cabbage and a soda with the entree being the beef noodles. Their skewers are also great and no complaints. I had the chicken and fish tofu. Service was fast not much service but servers were attentive and food came out fast Decor is modern minimalist,nothing really worth mentioning. I ordered just the original lanzhou beef noodle because their signature was spicy and I was worried I couldn't handle it. Noodle was chewy which is what you want. Plenty of cilantro beef I felt was a bit underwhelming, might have just been the big bowl which made it seem like there's not enough food. I do have to say portion was good. But noodles were so good in wish I could order a second serving of the noodles. Recommended, so if you are in the area and trying to decide what to eat. Can always give this a shot. read more

There was 1 pepper symbol but the soup is not very spicy at all (I can't really handle spice). The noodles are freshly hand pulled noodles! They have a chewy yet soft texture. The broth was perfectly seasoned. Very addicting umami taste. The meat was thinly sliced and very tender. This dish was cooked to perfection! Would go back next time I'm craving beef noodle soup. Our order was taken promptly but we had to wait a bit for the food.. probably because of the fresh hand pulled noodles. Otherwise the service was good. Freshly made noodles and such deep broth... what a perfect bowl of beef soup! If you love authentic Lanzhou Beef soup... you'll love this place... my brother tells me. But for me... the braised beef noodles are absolutely amazing! The broth is rich and deep and is one of the best things I've eaten in a long time. The braised beef is hearty and so tender! Has anyone seen their NYC inspection letter grade? I enjoyed the last time I went there, but everytime I walk past there I never see a grade up so I have reservations about going back.
