    Stir-fried Green Bean / 干煸四季豆

Food was tasty! I got the mild spicy fish soup but I will get non spicy next time. Beware of mild if you're sensitive to spice. Rice bowl was perfect. Great texture. Perfectly cooked. Green beans were seasoned well and perfectly cooked. TIP: no fish bowl combo during weekends. I had to buy fish and rice bowl separately bc I went on Sunday. Service was standard. Nice ambiance--comfortable seating and nicely decorated. Wish the AC was on tho.

Another great sichuan spot! This place is always packed but the wait is not that long as the turnover is pretty quick. This restaurant is located inside of tangram and the decor is pretty modern and nice. The food is amazing 5 out of 5. My favorite was the stir fried beef as it was spicy and it had a lot of celery which i like. The fish is always the star and it did not disappoint. We had to get some greens in too so we ordered spinach and it was a nice refreshing break from the other dishes that were heavy. All in all, will come back 100%!

I was craving sauerkraut fish and this place really delivered! We ordered the signature sauerkraut fish for two, mouth watering chicken, and spinach. The chicken and spinach were meh but the sauerkraut fish was really good! The fish fillets tasted fresh and was boneless which is great. Love the spacious and abundance of seatings they have. Service is quick and staffs were very helpful. Food came out pretty quickly too.

My friends and I were wondering around Tangram on a Saturday around lunchtime when we decided to stop here to try the sauerkraut fish. It was pretty empty inside, so we were able to be seated right away. One weird thing was that our waitress asked if we wanted tea or water, and we said both, but she said she couldn't give us both because the table wasn't big enough. We were a group of five sitting at a large table, so there definitely was room. We asked what kind of tea they had, and she said flower, which we assumed to mean chrysanthemum. It actually was a really strong tasting hibiscus tea that wasn't good at all, so we ended up asking for water anyway. I didn't think I would like this dish, but it actually was pretty good! It wasn't too sour, and the broth had a nice strong garlic flavor that was a welcome addition to the sourness. The fish was flaky and tender, and I liked the noodles in the dish too. I would definitely come back to try the tomato version! Although I do wish it automatically came with rice instead of charging $2 per bowl.

Tai Er in Flushing Queens is located inside Tangram Mall and is known for its signature sauerkraut fish. We opted for the traditional version and the non-spicy version which were perfectly tender and packed with umami from the pickled vegetables and radish. We also tried the Dan Dan noodles, which had a rich, nutty sauce with just the right amount of heat, along with sautéed string beans that were crisp and flavorful. The stir-fried beef was another standout, offering a well-balanced mix of tenderness and bold seasoning. The restaurant's ambiance is both spacious and inviting, with a modern dining area that accommodates groups comfortably. Ordering is seamless with their QR code system, making the experience efficient and stress free. I'll definitely be back whenever I'm in the area.

Excellent spicy fish thats completely boneless using snakehead fillets. However the addons were uninspiring and the veggies were kinda bland. The chicken in chili oil was flavorful but could've used more cucumbers. Ambiance was nice and spacious and very clean (bathroom too). Fast service as they refill your water literally every 10 minutes!

We came here on a Friday night around 8 pm and we got seated immediately. The menu is on a QR code on the side of the table which is where you place your order. If everyone at your table scans it and adds dishes to the table order, it'll update for everyone in real time! The menu came with pics and in English and Chinese which was very accommodating. We ordered the sauerkraut fish for two which was almost $60 but it ended up being HUGE! The three of us could barely finish it. The fish pieces tasted so high quality and tasty. The broth was seasoned well and added to the sauerkraut taste. The service was really good, my water always got filled up immediately and they were very nice. They also spoke English and Chinese which was helpful. When we checked out, it was with the employees, not on the menu!

We were looking for a quick lunch and nothing at the food court stood out, so we decided to stop by Tai Er and give their sauerkraut fish a try. Definitely glad we did. There was a short wait since the restaurant is pretty popular, but it wasn't bad at all. Popmart is right next door, so we browsed around until we got a text that our table was ready. The interior was pretty big and spacious. Everything was super modern and clean. Once seated, we were told to order through a QR code, but since there's barely any service in Tangram Mall, we just ordered the old-fashioned way with our server. Not a huge deal, but worth noting. The sauerkraut fish itself was excellent. The broth was light and refreshing, with just the right amount of tang to keep you going back for more. It was a little on the oily side, but still really flavorful. I made the mistake of ordering a small, so next time I'll definitely go for the larger portion and skip the extras.

Food: 4/5 The food is pretty solid and passed my in-laws tests for authenticity and flavor. We ordered the spicy signature sauerkraut fish. The broth was light yet very flavorful with a bit of a kick and it was packed with delicious tender fish. The other sides we ordered were on point as well. I highly recommend the sweet & sour pork ribs. Service: 4/5 Service was prompt and effective. Our water glasses and tea were filled. Ordering is done through your phone so that was a breeze. Ambiance: 4/5 It's located in the mall so based on where you're seated you can get some quality people watching in. Besides that it's pretty much your standard mall restaurant. Don't expect candles and faint piano music in the background. It's clean and packed with folks looking to dine on some quality, authentic Sichuan cuisine.

Great location in flushing, lots of things to do nearby. Located inside the mall. Spacious interior with lots of seating, very clean. Great service even on a jam packed Friday evening. The sauerkraut fish was savory, spicy, and had a burst of flavors. We ordered the signature soup for two with cumin lamb and veggies. Everything worked so well together! Huge serving sizes as well. The lamb was juicy and fresh with tons of fresh herbs. The signature soup was actually spicy and numbing, which we enjoyed. A small downside was the broth was a slight bit oily and wish they took off the skin to the fish to be a bit more visually appealing. Will keep coming back!

I was excited to stumble upon Tai Er in a mall in Flushing as I have seen this chain in China and was craving something spicy. My friend and I joined the waitlist kiosk outside the restaurant and waited about 20 min for a table for 2. Not bad at all for a Saturday night. We ordered the spicy sauerkraut fish for 2 as well as the spicy cold chicken as an appetizer. This turned out to be way too much food for us but we loved the flavors. The spicy sauerkraut base is definitely spicy and at first we regretted not getting the non-spicy version but got used to it after a bit. We chose to add bamboo shoots and vermicelli noodles which turned out great in the broth. The snakehead fish they use is super tender and while we didn't order rice, the order of fish felt like a full meal in of itself. The spicy Sichuan shredded chicken which includes cucumber pieces was a great app and surprisingly not as spicy as the fish we ordered. We definitely appreciated the cucumber to help lighten the meal. Also, I love the hot tea they provide which is a sour plum tea. Super nice and tart which is perfect for dealing with the spicy food!

They have some of the best spicy sour fish in Flushing. I haven't been here in a while, and now they're also offering a variety of meat and vegetable dishes! All the dishes are classic and delicious.

The Sichuan sauerkraut fish stew is a good comfort meal. The rice that they serve here (which is a $2 charge) is PERFECT... I can't quite explain. But yeah, you need to have the rice with the fish stew (you can order noodles with the soup, but it's not the same). We ordered the non-spicy; I will say without the spice, you do get a strong garlic taste in the broth. We tried the vermicelli noodles with shrimp and the sichuan lettuce wraps with pork. My partner and I enjoyed the lettuce wraps, but the vermicelli dish had so much garlic; the shrimps have this minced garlic coating.

Starting off, the numbing szechuan chicken was my least favorite of the dishes - the pieces of chicken were really tiny and there were a lot of peppercorns. I wish they made the pieces of chicken slightly larger as it was irritating to slowly pick it out towards the end of finishing it. Now, what went well were the stone pot with the fish. Normally not a huge fan of fish, so if I can enjoy eating fish a place has done well in preparing it. The soup was really flavorful and everyone at my table enjoyed it. The sweet and sour pork was also nice. The breading was crispy and the sauce had a nice tangy flavor to it and the texture was interestingly satisfying. The grilled beef ribs and bao buns were one of my favorite. The beef rib was very tender and went well with the buns and condiments that were provided.

I've dined here with my family twice and in the most recent occasion, we came with no reservations around 2:30pm on a Sunday. All the tables were taken as they just opened at noon so we had to wait a bit. Their menu / iPad ordering system was simple to navigate and quick to place. Our table was started off with their spicy pickled cabbage, which was super addicting. I love how the spicy oil was so flavorful and the cabbage was soft and just slightly tangy. We ordered 5 dishes for our party of 5: the la-zi chicken, stir fried cabbage, grilled beef ribs, beef and mushroom bibimbap and mao xue wang. My favorites were the la-zi chicken as the diced chicken was super crispy and flavorful. The spice level and numbingness was just the right amount. Next comes the beef and mushroom bibimbap, which is mixed and served at the table. The flavors were more soy based and was very balanced. The stir fried cabbage was cooked well but the pork in the dish was extremely salty. The grilled beef ribs came with steamed baos, similar to peking duck. I enjoyed the experience and presentation but the dish was a bit boring. Toppings included a spicy hot sauce, cucumbers and scallions along with the sliced beef that was individually torched at the table. Lastly the mao xue wang is a traditional stew featuring offals and blood curds. This one had duck blood, tripe, and intestines. I was extremely disappointed by this dish as I was expecting some tofu and small pork intestines but it didn't have either. The tripe and intestines were very crunchy, wherwas the duck blood was silky and soft. The flavor was very basic mala stew and had a ton of red chili peppers. Overall I had a decent meal at Mountain house but can't help but wonder if I ordered the right things since not everything was as good as I hoped. I will mostly likely return to give their other menu items a try.

Every order of crawfish comes in 2lbs and we ordered the spiced flavored one. This crawfish gets an A++. Little one loved the flavors and freshness. So tasty. Not only that, but these were probably the biggest crawfish we've ever seen! Even the claws had meat! We also loved how they chopped off the top of the head to removed the "filter". We also ordered a couple small dishes to try. For cold apps we ordered the pigs ear and okra. We love the crunchy texture of the pigs ear and the more we ate it, the more addicting it got to eat. The snow pea leaves were soft and silky with tender stems, and they came served in a golden broth with some mushrooms, juicy tomato and snappy pieces of black fungus. The dish is topped with a century egg. I found the broth itself to have a bit of a grainy texture when sipped. I've tried century egg in the past and while I'm not disgusted by it, I never quite felt like I understand the ingredient until eating this dish. The creamy, funky flavor of the egg reminds me of blue cheese and it pairs very well with the subtle flavors of the snow pea leaves and amplifies the richness of the broth. I really enjoyed my experience here and would like to return with a group to try more of the Sichuan classics on the menu.

I'm surprised I just discovered this place. a small little Gem with one Michelin star, from 2019 to…read more2025. The ambience is simple . All the food was excellent. We enjoyed everything.. Unfortunately, they didn't have Duncan crab. I will try next time around. Tips: They give you an iPad, to see pictures of the dishes, but you cannot order on the iPad.
