This is the first time I come here my beef flank soup was very good and my friends pickled vegetable fish. Soup was also delicious. The scallion, wet beef also good I will come back. And the surface was fast efficient and the place is clean with bright light, modern deco.
The Flushing location for ten seconds noodles is somehow even better than the Brooklyn one! Stopped by for a quick dinner with my boyfriend & I was quite surprised that the two locations could differ so drastically. My boyfriend ordered the braised bone rice noodle, & I got the spicy sliced beef rice noodle. I actually really liked my boyfriend's soup - the broth was so flavorful & rich. I really liked mine as well - it's like a mala soup base, and the spice level wasn't bad at all. There's 2 pepper signs on the menu, but I'd say it was closer to 1. It was incredibly flavorful as well. I really appreciate how they give you little bowls on the side to either scoop out some toppings, the noodles, or soup. It makes it much easier to eat the noodles since the broth is piping hot and makes for a bit of a splatter hazard. There'a also chili oil on the table, and it was really yummy. Free noodle refills are available at this location, and scallion & cilantro toppings are free as well. Yelp check in provides a free passionfruit tea (it was really good!) or plum juice, and can be redeemed for each person who checks in at the table.
Gigantic portions here! This was the most stuffed I have been in a while. The service here is very lax, but at least they're not rushing you. I got the Tomato w. Beef Flank Rice Noodle ($12.95), which like all their pots, came already pre-assembled in this impressive black pot. Normally, crossing the bridge noodles's uniqueness came from the disassembled ingredients as shown in some of their past pics. So I was disappointed at first. But upon digging in, the flavor was very delicious! I wasn't expecting to see snow fungus in my broth, but the usual bean curd, quail egg, and corn were there. Their Beef Flank was also not chewy at all, and easy to bite into. And for a tomato broth, there were no tomatoes as a fyi. Most amazingly, I was impressed by how full I was off of this affordable meal. If you ever need a quick meal on a budget one cold night, you know where to look!
4.5/5 I'm a lover of all noods. Bf and I wanted to try this place for a quick dinner and it was sorta packed when we got there. They do have limited outdoor seating as well. We waited for about 5 mins and people started to leave after their meal. We thought it must be yummy if people came in on a rolling basis. Looking at the menu was a little overwhelming at first because of all the options. Bf got the pickled cabbage fish fillet rice noodles and I decided on the tomato beef rice noodles. We were both WOWed. The fish fillets were not fishy at all and the tomato broth/soup was flavorful. You can also get free refills of the rice noodles!!!! Overall super yummy, and warmed our bodies on a chilly day. Would definitely come back to try their other noodles.

We were thinking of dining out when we checked in but when we saw that they follow distancing , we agreed to be seated inside. It is under new management for those who had been here before since the menu has different business name. The noodle broth taste is amazingly different basing on our past dining experiences with restaurants offering same kind of meal. I had the chicken rice noodle soup and my husband had the spicy beef flank rice noodle soup. My husband had complimented the uniqueness of its taste multiple times. It must be really really good. I did not try his because I do not like spicy foods. The stoneware used kept the soup hot the whole time while we were there. I may buy those kind of pot for personal use. Lol. We were thinking of coming back once get comfortable again with the situation.
I think the experience is much better in store. I ordered delivery - I have to say their packaging is real fancy, however, it's missing many things like the quail, egg, wings, etc. You'll want to see them plated and add yourself which you'll only get to do in store.

It comes in a large pipping hot pot so be careful. Broth is flavorful as it is infused with all the ingredients. The pork was ok. I wish that they had put it on the side instead of in the soup. It gets pretty busy late at night since it's one of the few restaurants that opens until 10:30. We were sat at the table where they usually pack the orders due to how popular the place was. Quick tip- I believe you can ask for free unlimited noodle refills. They also give you two off-branded yakult drinks at the end!
Been here twice already and I love this place!! Both times, I came on a Friday afternoon during my lunch break (1230PM - 130PM) and it does get pretty crowded! If I make it here by 12:35-12:40, there's not much of a wait but once I get here a little later than that, it's gets packed really quickly. It is a small place and can probably fit about 30-40 people? The first time, I had ordered the Beef with Kimchi Rice Noodles ($11.95) and it was SUPER DELICIOUS. The waitresses first bring out the dishes/ingredients of uncooked meat, corn, bean curd, raw egg, slices of ham, etc etc and then after a few minutes, they bring out the hot stone bowl. (It comes out relatively quickly so I wasn't on a time crunch to finish my food.) They also ask if you if you'd like to put the ing yourself or if you want them to put it in. I asked the waitress to put it in for me so I could record!! They're quick and careful because the hot stone bowl is extremely hot! I absolutely love fatty beef so that was very delicious. The soup base was also very flavorful + tasteful - it had a little spicy kick to it! The second time I went, I got the Beef Flank Tomato Rice Noodle (also $11.95). However, this time I came a little past 12:45pm and the hot stone bowl didn't come out until 20 minutes after my friends and I ordered! I was on a time crunch because I only had 15 minutes to eat this super hot bowl of beef flank tomato rice noodle. The broth definitely had a strong tomato taste but I had burnt my tongue slightly because I was rushing! So gotta be careful! I also couldn't get over how the meat was so tender and tasted so juicy!! Drooling just thinking about it right now! Both times, I couldn't finish my food so the waitresses would put it in a container for me to take to go. Another great thing about this place is FREE WIFI! Definitely will continue to come back and try other things on the menu!!
You know it's authentic Chinese while there are many Chinese people inside! The best selling dish is "Crossing-the-bridge noodles"form Yunnan province. Food is fresh and I like how they separated the sides and the noodles and let you put together whilst they served you with a boiling hot broth in a stone bowl, so they don't get over cooked or soggy. I like their indication of spiciness form 1-3 , I think 2 is the perfect spiciness for me! If you checked in on Yelp they would offer a free plum drink or passion fruit tea, I only tried the passion fruit tea, it's delicious and hydrating! Two things that I don't like about the restaurant: THEY ONLY TAKE CASH!!!!!!!! THEY ONLY TAKE CASH!!!!!!!! THEY ONLY TAKE CASH!!!!!!!! That's very important so I have to say it 3 times. Oh! and if they don't bring the trash out from the front whilst people are eating that would be much appreciated.

The fact that this place has less than 4 stars is a crime. These noodles are one of my favorite comfort foods. I always order the spicy beef rice noodle. SOOOO GOOD!!! The portion size is also HUMONGOUS. It's really worth all your money. Tip: if you order take out, you can add more toppings from home and make it even tastier
Nice friendly staff, but incredibly confusing menu where everything look scattered, was all over the place, and did not provide translations for every item on the menu. I ordered the pork belly pan fried noodles and the lamb tomato soup noodles, the pork belly pan fried noodle was okay, it was incredibly oily due to the hot oils that were used to cook up the dish, the tomato lamb soup noodle had a great hearty lamb flavor that combined well with all the ingredients there. Overall nothing about this place stood out to me, it was overall an incredibly average experience topped with a confusing menu

Shi Miao Dao has become one of the more popular franchises. However, this location is not one of my favorites. First of all, I have been here a few times and the servers are usually somewhat dismissive. Not always, but it doesn't feel warm and friendly most of the time. Secondly, the food is just average and the broth always feels a little light and lacks depth. Their other branch location on Kissena Blvd is better. read more

Here for an early lunch. Although I'm more of a rice person, and this is more of a noodle place, I still really enjoyed this Yunnan chinese restaurant. Hot day, nice AC, nice music, excellent waiter, complimentary tea. My wife ordered Tomato Fish Fillet Rice Noodle soup ($14.95). I ordered Chicken Leg with Mushroom Rice Noodle soup ($12.95). My wife's order was slightly more bold flavored than mine, but both were delicious. The restaurant was also running this free fruit drink promo where you receive a free fruit tea drink if you post a picture of your food and a review on social media. My wife got a passion fruit tea drink, and I got a peach tea. I didn't get to taste my wife's drink but my drink was excellent. If you like rice noodle soup, this eatery rates a good 4 stars. However, because of the excellent service, and especially the prices for everything we got, I have to bump up my rating another 1/2 star for an robust overall total of 4 1/2 stars. read more
Great hearty meal for a chilly day!! Enjoyed the chicken and mushroom soup noodles, especially since had some herbal elements to it & was packed with flavor! Portions are big , couldn't finish but nice to bring the soup home to have next day. Also enjoyed the black fungus & garlic appetizer and tried the cabbage fish noodle soup as well, definitely recommend! Service was quick and attentive! read more

Yunnan cuisine is a new dining experience for me. To better educate myself I pulled up a map to locate Yunnan and found geographically it borders Burma, Laos and Vietnam. Thailand is pretty close by as well. The restaurant has a whole story about the genesis of this rice noodle cuisine and aptly dubbed it as "Crossing the bridge noodles" Whether you want to believe in fairytales or not one thing is for sure. The food here is Awesome and that my friends is no fairytale. The broth here is Amazingly delicious, full bodied and lack for another fancy adjective, delectable! The rice noodles and there counterparts are served with the broth in stoneware that is piping hot. The menu is simple offering pickled fish, pork, chicken. There are others to choose from as well and you can always add additional proteins and veggies to your pot. We had the popcorn chicken for starters. The chicken tasted like your typical Taiwanese popcorn chicken, nothing fancy but oh so good! We ordered the pickled fish rice noodle and it was heavenly. Big pieces of what seemed to be some sort of white fish. The broth was mildly spicy and you can taste the subtle peppercorn notes in the soup. The rice noodles were silky smooth which I likened to a thicker type of angel hair udon. The spicy sirloin was beef tripe in Mah lat broth that was just as savory and delicious. You can choose how spicy you want your rice noodle broth. I recommend getting medium since I think it's the best balance for your taste buds to soak in and savor all that goodness. I noticed no one served us any tea or water unless you asked for it. I guess since your going to down a huge bowl of soup based noodles, you can probably drink less water. Anyways, we had the passion and plum cold drinks which were pretty tasty. In a nutshell a great new and exciting dining experience that you don't want to miss out on. The price is right and the service is on point! I'm already planning my next visit. read more
Service: Good Quantity: Good Cleanliness: Good Food: Spicy Sirloin $11.95 *Cash only Walked by few times during lunch and decided to give the "crossing the bridge noodles" a try today. It was busy due to the cold raining day. We were lucky to have a table. Waited last than 10 minutes for the food, and all the ingredients came in on a try in small dishes along with a bowl of rice noodles. Then the server brought the soup in a steaming hot cast iron pot. She asked if I would like her to mix it for me. I said, yes! please. She added all small dishes then last adding the rice noodles. There is a DIY instruction in Chinese which I will post it. I had a tomato soup base with a hint of 麻辣（hot and numbing chili). I believe it made the soup more flavorful, great to have it during winter. The sirloin was nicely cooked and marinated. It goes so well with the soup. I'm not used to the texture of rice noodle, but that's just me. You also need to purchase a drink since they don't serve water or hot tea which I think they should consider offering. All in all, nice experience and friendly service. A bit pricey for my lunch budget in flushing area, but it was worth a try. read more

I was excited to come here as with any restaurant I have not been to. In short this falls very far short of a good chinese noodle shop. The broth was just ok, rather than phenomenal. Overall palatable but not outstanding. read more

Thoughts: My friend ordered the Beef Flank With Tomato Rice Noodle Soup ($11.95) and I ordered the Pork Chop Rice Noodle Soup ($10.95). My friend prefers the regular soup base just a tad more than the tomato one. I originally thought the pork chop was going to be fried and on a plate but instead they put it in the soup and it was just weird and soggy. So I would recommend asking them to put it on a plate instead or order another kind of meat! The noodle consistency was perfect and the soup base was deeelicious! Overall it was really good! The presentation of the waitress throwing everything in a boiling pot in front of us was exciting. How to Save $$: If you are a party of 2, order 1 noodle soup with meat and add extra noodles for only $1.50 more. Trust me this will be enough for 2 people! read more

I've come here a couple of times and it's very good each time. The first time my family and I sat outside in the outdoor booth thing, the second time my mother and I sat inside. Both times were excellent. The soup is delicious, though I wish they didn't put the pork chop inside the soup, since it made it slightly soggy. Servings are large and you can ask for a free bowl of noodles. The noodles were quite bouncy and delicious. The popcorn chicken is okay, nothing too special about it. Each person gets a free Yakult like drink at the end. There's one small bathroom, but it's pretty clean. Prices are decent for Flushing and the food. Would come back here again. read more
Saw a lot of reviews for this place when it first opened up and the wait was quite long to get in, but I ultimately wasn't impressed. I went with the Pickled Fish Rice Noodle ($11.95), thinking it would be similar to the pickled vegetable fish fillet soup I recently had from Ke Lai Qin (客來勤) in the New Hong Kong Food Court. But it was not nearly as good. Shi MiaoDiao's dish was surprisingly large and came in a hot stone bowl that kept the soup hot for a really long time, but the taste wasn't there. The broth itself did not have any complexity to it. It tasted a bit too salty and was very one-note. You'd think a soup made with pickled vegetables would have a nice acidity to it, but it did not. The fish itself was nice and tender. The noodles were rice noodles, meaning it lacked a sort of substance I was hoping for. The end result was a soft noodle with soft fish in a sort of salty soup. I did enjoy how much other stuff was in the noodle bowl. There were beansprouts, cabbage, seaweed, and some dried tofu skin. It made it almost seem like a hot pot. I wanted to like this place so much. I'll probably return and try something else in hopes it'll be better. But, for now, there are so many other places in the area where you can get a better bowl of noodles for less money. This place is cash only. Yelp check-in gets you a free iced passion fruit tea. read more

What's awesome about SMD is the story behind the eatery is heartening and like that of a fantasy tale. The price comes out to ~$10 which is pretty affordable for what resembles a mini hotpot. I also like that the soup comes out boiling in stone bowls which reminds me of bibimbap. However, ShiMiaoDao was okay-ish. The soup tastes nearly the same for almost every kind of item on the noodle menu-- like it was already pre-formulated and came from some kind of packet. The beef did not taste like it was made fresh but refrigerated in a large batch and was sort of tough to chew. Appetizers- Cold Cut Cucumber- it was okay, a sort of palate cleanser Salted Fried Chicken- tasteless and too salty... it would be nice if there was the Taiwanese Salt & Pepper Chicken instead I was also excited that aside from it being cash only, SMD also accepts WeChat pay(cool beans!). Anyways, it's a cool place to check out. read more
Decent noodle restaurant, ok service. Found this place thru manh loc and realize the price here is 2-3$ cheaper, so decided to trek here instead of the manh loc. Disclaimer - not sure if it is owned by the same owner. First time when we came it was pack but lucky we didn't have to wait, but the sec time we came back the resto only had a few group. The noodles came out pretty quick - ideal for a quick lunch/dinner. Pickled fish rice noodle - 3.5/5 ok flavor. Generous amount of fish and noodles. Was expecting a strong sour and tangy taste but it was super mild. Not much of a pickled vegetable inside. Original crossing bridge rice noodle - 4/5 it came with one piece of chicken wing and some beef slices. If you want something that is not as flavorful as the other one, get this one. Broth is clean and light. Tomato noodle - 4/5 very strong tomato taste. If you want a slightly sweet but also not too rich this is the choice. Flavorful. Kimchi beef - 3.8/5 the taste of kimchi was mild. Not spicy at all, but def can taste the beef broth. Get this if you want, slightly sweet and sour. The aroma of this bowl reminds me of cooked garlic. Portion are pretty big, worth the price. Be careful - don't touch the bowl because it is pretty hot and the last time I touched I burned my hand. Check in on yelp for your choice of passion fruit tea or plum juice. But the drinks are not poured all the way to the top and it is not make as it is order. Already pre-made. Cash only! And there's only one bathroom so might have to wait for a while during the busy hours. read more
Location: when your car is in the prince street，you are in trouble. The trouble is , of course, traffic is the worst here. But you are mostly trouble because you don't knows where to pick for dinner/lunch- too many good food restaurant. Place is tiny but service is too nice We ordered the tomato beef soup which is so tasteful! I love the soup itself and the noodle is chewy and nice. Service is exceptional! A decent and affordable rice noodle joint! Love the flavors and the traditional Chinese decor around! Ordered the Pork Rice Noodle, it comes in a ton of mini dishes and a bowl of boiling hot soup! Ooo, this place has really good rice noodle soups. This was my first time here. The presentation was excellent and inside is nicely decorated. The tables are somewhat small. The food was great and the price is pretty standard. I would definitely come back! read more
Very disappointed as I came in at 10:00PM and they close at 11:00. They started to mop with bleach and wash the walls around me as I am eating. The smell was horrible. Crew was wearing gloves but did not wash hands and went back to serving. They still had another table and a new table walked in. The fried chicken appetizer was dry. I didn't even want to use the coupon for a free drink because of the smell and what I saw. Cleaning like that and dragging out garbage through dinning area is prohibited by NYC Dept of Health...FYI...I know this personally. Please do better. Noodles are good and soup base has good flavor but until I see the service improve, I won't come back as a customer. read more

The food was ok but mediocre. The noodle was smooth the first few bites like gelatin. This surprised me pleasantly. However, the feeling soon became overwhelming, like eating jelly over and over again. Perhaps it's my own preference, but noodles with more bite tastes better. This type of noodle doesn't really absorb the soup either leaving them tasteless. The soup did not have a strong flavor, it tasted a little like canned tomato soup with beef broth. The fried chicken was a bit salty and mediocre. The cucumbers weren't spicy enough and did not have the crunch to it. I was expecting the cucumber dish from Ding Tai Fung, but it was mediocre. The drinks were alright, tastes like flavored water. I gave it three stars because it wasn't very authentic and I probably won't go again. read more
Great new spot in Flushing! I was surprised by how crowded the restaurant was on a weekday at 2pm especially for a new restaurant. The food came out relatively quickly. We got the pickled fish rice noodle and the Sirloin with tomato rice noodle. The fish rice noodle came all together in a hot stone bowl. They gave a generous portion of white fish fillets which were SO soft and tender as well as lots of veggies. My friend ordered mild and said there was a slight kick to it in the beginning, but was fine afterwards. The Sirloin beef with tomato rice noodle came with all the veggie sides laid out and added into the hot stone bowl in front of you. The broth was very flavorful and the beef was pretty tender too. It had a few tendon parts in it in case some don't like that and it can be a bit chewy but overall, it was very good. Currently, they have a buy one set get another for 50% off if you promote them on Wechat (basically checking in on wechat and adding it to your Moments) which made this a super affordable lunch. Everything is already $12 and under before the discount anyway Would love to come back to try the Pork Chop noodles and their popcorn chicken appetizer. read more

It's not authentic, fusion: tomato soup base, kimchi soup base. Park car in parking garage or 7 train to main st station. Both need to walk 1-2 blocks
