Nothing overly special about this DD store except that it is in a great location. Glad to have a DD close by when visiting family in Swansboro. I don't recall any bad experiences at this store. Great service on certain days.. I come everyday before work and it's a hit or miss to be greeted warmly. As for what I order, I've had better smoothies at the Dunkin' on base. Give yourself time as this is the only Dunkin you'll find close to the Crystal Coast. Fresh donuts await but they'll be picked over if you're not there early! Asked what the seasonal flavors were for Ice Coffee. Proceeded to order 2 of them. Pulled up and they handed us hot after we paid. When we corrected them A guy from across the store yelled out "they said hot!". Why would I ask the season flavors for Ice Coffee and then order 2 of them if I wanted hot? The guy who yelled came over to the window and very rudely said he was going to have to have our card to refund the hot coffee and charge us for the Iced. I can't say anything negative about this DD, The people are always friendly, The service is always quick. Even when they have a store full of customers they always seem to have everything running smooth. The store is extremely clean and plenty of seating. This evening staff refuses to turn their sign lights on after dark, as if they r trying to avoid serving customers. We asked them to turn it on and they claimed it was broken but it was on the next morning. There were mobile orders coming through and being ignored. I went in there this morning and got the wake up wrap. I actually got two of them. I asked for no cheese on them. I get highly sick with food with cheese on them. WOW! That is the only way to explain the service. I was there a year ago and I can promise you it hasn't gotten any better. Not.the brightest crayons in the box. Last I checked a latte comes with milk. Well looks like we got iced coffee because Justin apparently doesn't know how to do his job. He didn't know to count to 6 or where any of the bagels we asked for were. He repeated back the wrong order and for heaven sake don't ask for a half calf latte that will really confuse him. I have been going to this location for over a year and have always been happy until recently. This time of year I always get an extra large pumpkin coffee extra pumpkin, extra cream, and extra sugar. It has always been so good until the last couple of weeks. I only get cream in my coffee but still getting charged for extra pumpkin cream and sugar. But they made sure that TWO (yes, not just one but two) big gratuity jars were sitting on the small counter. Two times in a row this place has messed up my order. The first time i was could live w bc they only forgot to put bacon on my sandwich. I came to this Dunkin Donuts location on my way back home to Raleigh from Emerald Isle. My spouse and I went through the drive thru in order to make it a quick stop, as we were rushed for time to get back for a Mother's Day dinner. We ordered two coffee drinks and a large ice water and it took a few minutes for the cashier at the window to get all of our order to us. After finally receiving our drinks she said 'thank you. Have a good day!' And shut the window. We sat there looking at our drinks for a minute, as we wanted one with no creamer and it looked suspiciously creamy. At that point, we paused and looked at the girl through the window and she opened it to answer our questions about the drink and then closed it immediately. We then continued our trip back to Raleigh. Once home and at the grocery store, 3 hours later, I realized that I did not have my credit card. After checking and double checking my wallet and car I remembered the last place I used my card was at this Dunkin donuts. I called and questioned them if they had my credit card and the shift leader that answered responded very rudely to me stating that 'I had sped away before the cashier had a chance to give me my card'. In other words, blaming me for the cashier not returning my credit card. (If you have been reading this review in its entirety then I'm sure you remember how my spouse and I paused at the window and even asked the cashier questions about one of our drinks, giving her ample time to realize that she had not returned it.) The shift leader then said that she would let her General Manager know about the situation, but that she would be off until Tuesday. At that point I began to get very frustrated as I am going to Florida on Thursday and will need my credit card for the trip! So now I am being told that no one will even look into the situation until Tuesday!? That is not enough time for me to receive it before I leave Thursday morning at 6 am! The shift leader also said that she would call the General Manager and tell her to call me right away to handle the situation. I told her I wanted my card to be mailed out first thing in the morning because I am leaving the state later this week! She repeated that she was going to call her manager. After dinner I realized that I still hadn't received a call so I called back. This time the General Manager answered. (Crazy! I thought she was off until Tuesday?) I explained to her who I was and that it was imperative for me to have my card back ASAP because I had a trip to go on later this week. She told me, in an extremely annoyed tone, that she needed to talk to her district manager about it first and get authorization, but that he wouldn't be in until tomorrow. Why does she need authorization to send me MY credit card!? She is the general manager, shouldn't she be able to authorize something like this at her own store? During the entire conversation with her she never once apologized nor made any attempt to rectify the situation. She just kept repeating, in a very annoyed tone, that she would be sure to tell the district manager the next day. At one point during the conversation she even blamed me for 'forgetting' my credit card and began to yell at me. The next day the district manager called me and also stated that he didn't have authorization to mail me my card. (Why does it require authorization to write my address on an envelope!?) I began to get upset with him, as I am one day closer to my flight and am now being told that I can not have my credit card back that the cashier at the drive thru held onto. He told me that unfortunately it was too much of a liability to mail me my card. Seriously!? It's 2016! I work in a medical office and mail out important medical documents and classified information every single day! If he really wanted to help he could ship my card to me in a secure way, but no, he just started laughing at me when I was upset and said Dunkin Donuts won't ship me my card and even if I had 6 hours of extra time to drive back to them to get it they would not reimburse me for gas! After that he told me the only option I have is to have them cut up my card and call my bank and have them express ship me a new card. So that's what I did. My bank charged me $40 to express ship me my card AND I was required to take the day off work to sit at home because it had to be signed for or else they wouldn't leave it at my house. This Dunkin Donuts cost me a day's pay at work and an extra $40 all because none of the managers,from the shift manager up to the district manager, are able to lead a team and actually resolve a situation. My spouse is the General Manager at a busy restaurant located in DT Raleigh, an area where travelers from all over the US come to for different events. Their protocol is and has always been that if an out of towner leaves their card they immediately get their information and send it back no questions asked! Alex and Pookie were extremely kind and helpful in the decision making process that exists when one is so tantalized by the vast wall of delicious baked pastries and doughnuts. At one point there was a mistake with one order but it was immediately fixed and they let us keep the mistake order. Went to this place yesterday between the hours of 5-6. Yes I took forever at the drive thru but that was just me trying to be bold and choose something I usually don't get. Sooo I went with a large macchiato? Any who pardon my ignorance as to me thinking this was a rather sweet drink but to my dismay it was just plain coffee sitting ontop of tons of milk with no sweetener whipped cream or drizzle what so ever. So I accept it at the window, tolerated the rude guy this whole time but that didn't bother me at the time becuz there r rude ppl everywhere, try my drink as I pulled forward and it was horrible, so I pulled around and went inside, told the scraggly unkempt neck length hair guy that was rude to me before that I had no idea what I was ordering and that I didn't like it, he looked at me like if I was a complete idiot and told me after much hesitation that he can't make me anything else unless I pay for it!!!!!!! Do I asked if he can put some damn sugar in my drink atleast and he said yeah!, he was so rude and uncaring and rly acted and looked like he hated his job! I also feel like the employees don't put effort into your drinks like the other location does on Western Blvd! They don't embellish your drinks with whipped cream or drizzle its happend to me alot there! Oh and to turn ppl away at 1 am as they have a sweet tooth is just wrong! Breakfast menu was fine and tasted great, however the dcoffee and other drinks are expensive. I bought a coffee mug for 4.95 and thought maybe I'd be in a coffee club and have free a free refill. (at least one) but no luck. The seating is real close and always in someone's face. On weekends Long lines deffinetly not in and out. Just right for tourist to spend money at the beach. She works the drive threw in the mornings she isn't friendly and comes across mean, she doesn't seem to hear what you are saying and just today as I was ordering she asked me to wait a min. so she could laugh at what someone was saying to her (she left her mic on so I was able to hear)! we are tired of stale old donuts. overpriced yesterdays junk!. now with the new hours it is worse! tonight at 7:45 I went for munchkins all they had OUT were pumpkin, some blueberry and a handful of jelly, BUT racks full of fresh just baked donuts in the corner with trays of glazed and other munchkins that I could not have, but I could "come back in the morning for them"! you know when they are 10 or 12 hours old sitting on a rack all night long! can you believe it? I actually drove there deliberately, parked and left my warm car to go inside to choose my delight and this is how the counter girl treats me! appalling. when I asked when they would be put out I was told "they will be put out in the morning". I asked when they bake now that they have new hours 'til 11.pm, she said they were baking them now, bloody 8 o'clock! they'll be stiff and dry by morning so you can't even get a good donut in the morning here in Cedar Point. we used to have to hit the drive-thru after midnight because that is when they put out the freshies that were just made and they were gorgeous, not now! this is why businesses fail in this area so often. I have never gotten a good donut here during the day other than on an occasional saturday and typically in summer, rest of the time stale. go to the grocery store you'll do better! read more
