I visited last September and had a great experience but this recent visit, the staff wasn't very friendly. They weren't rude, just not warm or welcoming. No hellos and thank yous. Just "what can I get you?" And literally that's it. I wasn't even sure my payment was done because the lady taking my order just walked away. Just weird. Hopefully they were just having a bad day. However, their coffee is worth a return visit. My favorite is their Drops of Jupiter which is vanilla, cinnamon and honey. I always get my kids something decaf or a smoothie and those are great too.

The atmosphere is super cute and cozy, making it a great spot to meet up with friends for coffee or settle in with a laptop and get some work done. They offer a wide variety of drink options including creative coffee specials, smoothies, and teas. I'm a big fan of the Tiger Shark and the Banana Foster, but I've branched out a few times and have enjoyed several of their other drinks as well. There's always something new to try. Service is quick and efficient, even when there's a line, and the staff are consistently friendly and helpful. If you're standing there debating what to order, they're always happy to make suggestions. It's definitely more of a coffee spot than a full café. They usually have muffins and a few light pastries to go with your drink, but it's not the place you'd go if you're looking for a full meal. For good coffee, a relaxed atmosphere, and friendly service, though, it's a great local stop.

This was even after they gave her whipped cream which she is not a big fan but the caramel Balance made up for it. Then the smoothies, my berry smoothie lover says that they did a decent job. I had quite the experience with my smoothie. I chose the strawberry and chia seed protein shake where I chose peanut butter for the base. OMG. It was the best PBJ I ever had. When I say I was drinking a PBJ it is no joke and it was so good!! Like I am Now feeling like PBJ needs to become a staple of my diet again. Now they only get 4 though because we were also hoping for some yummy bakery treats but what we saw wasn't really exciting so we left it alone. This was probably good as the protein shake is a meal. Saw some cool teas. Need to go back and get some before we leave. We will be back next time we visit.

Coffee was watery (I had to dump it). but bagel was delish (it is self serve, cut own bagel, toast it etc) seemed expensive for self serve items and mid coffee. I got a latte not sure if the espresso shot was weak or if the ice really watered it down after pouring the shot) I feel like they should focus on just a few things to improve what they have rather than having way too many options without enough staff. I also peeked at other reviews and it seems like others agree, I feel like they don't worry about changing anything bc the clientele is a revolving door of tourists.

It doesn't get any better than this. If you're looking for an amazing snack or breakfast, this is…read morethe spot for you. ***LOCATION*** This beachcore health food shop is located in a tiny strip mall in Emerald Isle. You can bike there and enter from the bike path (there is a bike rack) or you can drive and park your car in the lot in the back. ***EXPERIENCE*** We came here because my friend's Mom adores this spot. It's a local spot that uses the best and most delicious ingredients. You can guarantee quality here. There is a lot of seating available inside and some spots outside. This place gets packed, but it's totally worth the wait. You order and pay up front then wait for them to call your name. I'm very picky with my acai bowls, I find that some places make them more smoothie and watery. I love it when they're rich and thick. Sol Bowls makes sorbet style bases which is why I'm so in love with what they make. I highly recommend ordering the Sol Bowl (I added cocoa nibs and coconut) or the Shore Break (if you prefer coconut sorbet with pineapple and spirulina instead of acai). Don't be deceived by how small the small size looks. It definitely looks like a lid, but it is still extremely filling. My only note is it would be nice to have a bigger small bowl (with the same current portion size) just to make scooping easier. If you want to add anything, I highly recommend adding almond butter to your bowls, it's a nice savory addition to all the sweet things inside. My friends loved the drip coffee and latte they ordered. I wasn't too crazy about the matcha, but once I mixed it more it was pretty good. ***PRICE*** The small bowls start at $9 with an added $1 for any additional topping you want to add. ***CONCLUSION*** If you're looking to feel tropical and beachy, I highly recommend eating the rainbow at Sol Bowls. Their bowls are so refreshing and beyond perfect for beach life.

From the moment we walked in, the shop appeared very dirty and poorly maintained. The smell of old grease was overwhelming, and the cleanliness of the store immediately raised concerns. What made the experience even worse was the customer service. As soon as we entered, the employee spoke to us in a rude, snarky, and confrontational tone. Instead of politely saying something like, "Please keep the door shut," or "We'd appreciate it if the door remained closed," she immediately asked, "Did someone tell you to prop that door open?" The wording and delivery came across as unnecessarily hostile and unwelcoming. It instantly made us feel uncomfortable, and the tension in the store seemed noticeable to others as well. We came in genuinely excited to support a local business, but between the condition of the shop and the way we were treated, we decided not to stay. First impressions matter, and unfortunately this was one of the most unpleasant customer service experiences we've had. I hope the owners take steps to improve both the cleanliness of the establishment and the way customers are greeted and treated. Based on the photos online, we expected a completely different experience.
