She loved the pastel de nata as it reminded her of Portuguese tarts. We sat on the wooden tables with benched seating & chairs. The sofas are soft but one fabric chair had stains on it. Today I had an interesting experience at this Starbucks…read more I was in town for the Spurs game and got to town early to avoid the rush hour traffic. I came to this Starbucks as it was close to my friends house. I ordered my drink and sat in the store and started working while I waited for my friend to get off work. My friend notified me that the were getting off so I packed up my items and went to my vehicle to swap bags and went it the restroom to get changed. When I excited the bathroom I asked for a water to go and was asked "Did you already buy a drink?" I said yes I did, I've been here for a few hours. She said okay, I added that I just wanted a small water. While she was getting my water she was talking to the other employees lowly then came to the drink drop off with the water still in her hand. She said "they said that you just walked in." To which I responded with "no, that's not correct, I've been here for a few hours." She said "I've been in the store and I haven't seen you. Do you have the app to show me?" At this point, I was the only one in the line and I was getting kind of frustrated. I remained calm and stated, "I order my drink with an African America girl, I sat by the window, then I moved outside to the far right seat. That's when the lady that put my order in got off sat right there outside opposite to me." The employee was still looking at me like I was telling a lie. I showed her my app where it showed that very location I was at with my drink purchase. She said she was sorry and didn't see me. I'm not sure what company policy they have, so I can't speak to that, but the level I had to go through to get a tall water I believe is ridiculous. I could understand if I just said, "Hey, believe me. I was just here and my order was wrong so I need another one." I would of course show the receipt as proof in this scenario, but for a water? I gave a detailed account of what happened and to top it off, one of the workers still there was the one who made my drink and gave it to me. Not a good experience, I think this needs to be evaluated better to ensure future customers aren't treated so coldly.

I have gotten a second cappuccino at my local Starbucks and never had a problem as long as you were still in store. Not sure if this is a new policy or my local store is correct?? Anyway the Pikes with cream refill was not very good. Not sure why but it tasted off and I did not finish it. Upgraded review to 4 stars: it does state on the Starbucks website that the refill is only brewed coffee or tea, no specialty drinks. So the staff here is correct. The coffee is so smooth and delicious! I ordered a large (more like a medium), iced blackberry vanilla latte (house made syrups). It was so delicious! I did add 2 shots to make it a quad, as it had been a long, early morning for me. Their espresso is not bitter- it is just beautiful! I wish they had larger sizes so I could sip on it longer haha. The pastries are hit or miss- I thought the poptart was great, the cherry streusel was alright, but my friend said the cinnamon roll was a bit dry and needed more icing (it was big). Overall I would definitely come back for their great coffee. They make them pretty quickly, which is also nice!
