It's DELICIOUS and they put real ginger inside. Pair that with a honey rosemary biscuit and you've got a winning combination. One day, you're walking past this boarded-up, crack house that's been in shambles your whole life on the sketchier part of Astoria's Broadway, and often have running thoughts on how the hell this place was ever inhabitable and who the hell would ever buy this place. And the next thing you know, some investors and developers snatch up this land to knock said crack house down and spin it into a new apartment building with a clean coffee shop. This side of Astoria has always been rather underserved and overlooked, and there was a time when I could recite almost every business within these 2-3 blocks that didn't move. Besides the corner cafe that's been serving the community for ages, I'm glad to see dedicated coffee shops finally sprouting on this side because it needed one badly. The best part is that it's Greek-owned, which is a testament that Astoria's Greek presence is still very strong-- and I'm sure most of the Greek residents would continue to show out for its fellow Greeks. Coffee is always great, and it does very much feel like I'm in Greece at times--even those thin straws they use are literally the same ones they use in Greece. I've only gotten a lemon poppyseed loaf once and that was very filling.
