I went inside looking to order and when I asked the employee if I had to digitally order or not she rolled her eyes at me and then proceeded to walk away and then the next two employees who walked to the front proceeded to ignore me throughout the entire time. The inside space is closed, so everyone is forced through the drive thru line ... a 40 minute wait. We would have abandoned ship but we had a $40 order supposedly waiting. But no! Absolutely the worst coffee I have had in decades. Burned plastic with dish soap taste. To add to it, the donut (Boston Creme) was 1/2 the size it used to be and was at least a full day or so old. Could not get them to give us a receipt either because of their hosed up system of ordering (not by a human even possible) that was a kiosk that had zero humans in sight. Someone came out from the back about 10 minutes after the order was completed and handed out one part of an order over the following 4 minutes until it was completed. Then acted all impatient when we asked for a receipt and gave the lamest excuse, walked back to the back out of sight and was gone like a vampire at sunrise, never to be seen again. This is the single worst of Dunkin's I've been to, and none have had good coffee in at least 15 years...every time burned plastic tasting like they never clean their urns...or if they do they rinse with soap and forget to rinse again until the soap is gone. Skip this, skip all Dunkin' and just go to the grocery store behind it that has a far better chance to provide a fresh donut far more than this POS place does. read more

Honestly hit or miss here. I order the same coffee and it never tastes the same. The workers are decent customer service wise, but I don't think they know what actually goes into each drink and make up their own recipe as they go. Oh boy.. I haven't been to a Double D this bad in a very long time. Order was chocolate croissant, chocolate donut w/sprinkles, caramel coolatta and a iced caramel macchiato w/whip cream. We placed an order thru the app on our way off the causeway thinking we could stop and quickly pick up an order. When we arrived less than 10 mins after ordering ,we learned the lobby was closed and you can only use the drive thru. We sat in the drive thru line from hell for an hour waiting for an order. The worst unorganized mess . People were turning around and leaving the line - since we had prepaid on the app we were held hostage to the line. After finally reaching the window we were handed our order that was filled incorrectly. We left with breakfast sandwiches that had gone cold, and coffee that was obviously sitting around as well. We paid for several items that did not receive. I really wished I had looked at a review prior to placing my order. I will contact Dunkin' to let them know what an awful job this franchise is doing . The only thing they are excelling at is tarnishing the Dunkin name. This is the second time the Dunkin app has failed for me. We stopped here for a quick breakfast on the road. It took 30+ minutes from the time we got in the door, ordered and received our food. There were only 3 people in front of us. The glazed munchkins were dry, tasted a day old, and were not glazed. We received a sausage, egg, and cheese in place of the bacon, egg, and cheese that was ordered. We arrived at 6am just as the store was opening to find dirty tables, spilled drinks all over the floor and bugs crawling everywhere. This store is ridiculously slow! I ordered ahead on the app. Since they don't have the lobby open, we had to go through the drive thru to get our order. For having all employees working on drive thru orders, it too over 35 minutes!!! For a drive through with about 6-7 cars ahead of us! We xx will not be stopping here again. Just trying to get out of OBX. Needed a sandwich, and chose this Dunkin over the McDonalds across the street. Bad choice. Almost half hour wait in the middle of October at 9 am, and both sandwiches were failed. Mobile order meant nothing, they make the sandwiches when you go thru the drive thru. I was very skeptical about coming to this Dunkin because of all of the reviews being one star saying it was horrible however as a Dunkin lover I would've rather risked it here than go to a Starbucks. When I went through the drive thru, a very nice lady greeted me and took my order, I pulled through to the pick up side and even with 2 cars in front of me it took less than 2 minutes to get my food and drinks. My family was also in 2 other cars behind me and they got their food and drinks right after me. My food was great and so was my drink. All employees were also following COVID health guidelines and wearing masks and gloves. I am writing this review at 11 am on a Sunday which is typically a busy time I'd assume for this Dunkin considering many people are leaving rentals at OBX. I am not sure why all the other reviews were so bad because I really enjoyed my experience here and would stop by again if in the area. read more

A few weeks ago I was driving through this town to get to the Outer Banks for a trip. The people who worked there weren't super friendly ( you guys need to work on customer service....be friendly to ALL your customers!) I observed the counter person being more friendly toward some more than others when all the customers seemed to be very pleasant... This aside I was pleasantly surprised. Alas, a Dunkin Donuts who actually had FRESH donuts at 2pm??! Holy smokes I had forgotten what fresh donuts tasted like. This was such a wonderful surprise. I am from Massachusetts, so I may be biased on the quality of my Dunkins, but this was one of the worst service experiences I have ever had. First of all, the service was poor in general. A line of ten people inside the store took about 30 minutes to move. Secondly, I could've made a better coffee if I was three years old. I ordered my normal coffee "with cream," while my friend ordered a regular. Both came out as a thick white disaster. There was so much cream in these coffees that you could literally not taste coffee. I should've just gone to the 7/11 across the street and had a much better experience and bought a MUCH better coffee. read more

Probably the worst expirence I've ever had at a fast food restaurant got our food fast but waited 20 min for a hot coffee and 2 iced teas

If all you want is a coffee and bagel to start your 10 hour drive home from the Outerbanks, you're better off going to a gas station. Yes, a lot of travelers are stopping for the same reason and it's obviously going to be busy, along with a few regular locals needing their breakfast. However, it shouldn't take as long as it did. My boyfriend and I ordered an iced coffee, one of their new featured blended coffees, and two bagels with cream cheese. No sandwiches or anything fancy. The coffees came quick, but were poorly made. My blended drink was thin and liquidy rather than blended, and there was no whip. My boyfriend's iced coffee was without cream and sugar, which he ordered and was on our receipt. I got my bagel un toasted and he got his toasted. They have a conveyer belt toaster so that shouldn't be much of a wait. I understand that there was a line and many of the people waiting for their orders in front of us had ordered sandwiches that needed assembled, but I don't think one should expect to wait through all those orders when it could literally take 30 seconds to drop a bagel through in between, toss it in a bag with some cream cheese, and hand it over. Everyone waiting seemed very annoyed and I've never waited so long at a Dunkin. After literally 20 minutes, I was convinced our order was forgotten or just overlooked completely. Having already paid for both bagels and finishing our drinks, we were so upset we actually left without our paid for food because we wanted to be on the road and no longer even wanted our food from an establishment that is so disorganized and ill managed. Again, it was busy and there were a lot of orders but there seemed to be a sufficient amount of staff to handle it and moreover, our order of a non toasted bagel and toasted bagel should've been a grab and go ordeal. I was ready to leave after 10 minutes but my kindhearted boyfriend held on until 20 when we were both disgusted. Ordered my food and had to repeat my order server all times. Wanted the featured breakfast sandwich and was told I would have to have it on a bagel even though it comes on a croissant. I was happy to switch my order up to be nice. There were only two cars ahead of me and I had to wait over 10 minutes to get to the window, just to be told the type of bagel I requested, they were out of - I had the choice of a blueberry bagel for the omelette sand which i ordered, mind you it is their featured sand which. Why they thought a blueberry bagel offering for the type of sand which I ordered was beyond me. At that point I looked at the unapologetic workers, through the window I saw unhappy workers, a disaster of a work space and dirty floors. I decided not to purchase anything that day.
