Over the last five years or so I've enjoyed watching Mr. D's grow as the ownership changed to a young family and they embraced community in a new way. You can now find their donuts all over town as they collaborate with other local businesses and sell at farmer's markets around the metro. Despite gaining in notoriety this local spot remains humble and still has some of the kindest people working at this OG spot in Shawnee. Each donut is great - I personally think their apple fritter and classic cake donuts are some of the best. They also offer mochi now, which is a fun unique offering you can't get all over town. One of the best things about Mr. D's is despite being one of the best donuts in town they still keep costs reasonable - you're not going to break the bank going here and I love that they are doing their best to keep great treats affordable for families in their neighborhood.

The place was so stinking cute. Very open and inviting so I love being in the space while waiting for my donuts.
