This DD is such a disappointment compared to others. I am from the east coast and moved here just under 5yrs ago. My wife and I were super excited about a Dunkin opening up close to us since the closest one was over an hour away. Since this location has opened they seem to have a revolving door for their staff, of which most of them seem like they walked in off the street that day to start work. Every time I go the employees behind the counter are wearing street clothes and seem more interested in their own conversations than serving the customers. They also either have constant supply problems or lazy employees, they seem like they would rather just tell you they are out of whatever you ordered instead of making it. This has happened to me on multiple occasions. If they are truly out of something my guess is the franchise owner isn't ordering enough supplies. I have gone on multiple occasions and been told they are out of almost everything. I try not to write bad reviews but this dunkin needs help. From reading other reviews it seems like I am not the only person who feels this way. If you have the time the one in Half Moon Bay seems to be alot better than this one. read more

Went here early in the morning and had an encounter with an awfully moody guy. He looked grimey and not excited to be working there. He gave me attitude and I believe he might've been sarcastic as well. It was an awful experience. Everyone else working there I've had encounters with were friendly. I frequently come to this San Carlos Location for coffee and breakfast sandwiches and still... am extremely disappointed every time. Maybe I am to naive to believe it will be better the next time? Especially today. The store had 3 working staff when I walked in and there was only one person ahead of me in line before the cashier. However the wait was 15 minutes + before the person ahead of me was even helped. By then, I noticed the staff had no idea how to place orders ( or even make coffee). This is a common trend. Additionally, there was one staff worker no where to be seen. Not only am I from Boston and am very familiar with Dunkin Donuts Franchise, but I too work in the food industry. Efficiency is key in these businesses especially during this difficult time of the Covid-19 virus. Leaving a long line of waiting customers who are simply looking for coffee is no way to promote social distancing. @San Carlos Dunkin Donuts Please improve your staff! DD lover here. I get it every time I travel to the East Coast twice a month. I've been to this location a few times since it's a mile from my home. Each time I hope it gets better. After being open a few months, looks like things haven't improved. Let's start with the coffee...iced coffee tasted bitter, almost like it was made two days ago. Hot coffee was better but it seems like the staff can't get the Dunkin Donuts cream/sugar ratio right. Always too much cream, very little sugar. For those of us from the East Coast, we know how it should taste. The staff is friendly, but not very professional or sanitary. This can be solved with some training and better hiring or even a manager/owner that is present. I'll stick with making DD a treat when I travel. Don't be fooled by the five-star reviews. read more

Been going to this location for a few years. Its been going down the past few months. Seems no supervision. A few times staff has not been friendly. Today in the morning 8ish they had about 6 employees there usually only 2. The music was super loud, usually no music or a professional level. The song playing was not appropriate if there was a child in the store. It was so loud I could not hear the guy repeat my order nor did he hear me correctly as it was wrong. He told the 4 girls standing behind him to make it hot not iced. I ordered a large Americano. 3 people after me all got their drinks before me. I see them making all iced drinks. At this point I just walk out and don't even get the coffe I paid for. That's how frustrating it was. The other staff were standing around on their phones. One even dancing. I will stay away for a while. They need better customer service and management. read more

My love of Dunkins is the only thing that keeps me coming back to this place. The staff is slow, not trained well, usually rude, and more often than not, they look extremely sloppy - stains all over their shirts, dirty looking hands, etc. The shift leader today (who I have had several rude interactions with) was no different than normal. I put in my order in advance and when I got there 20 minutes later, they hadn't made my coffee because they were out of almond milk. Before 9am. They then asked if I wanted whole milk, AFTER I had said to just leave it black. They don't listen to the customers and don't care. While I get it's not an exciting place to work, it seems like no one takes any pride in their job. If I were the manager, I would seriously re-evaluate the majority of my staff or this place will not survive. read more

I was excited that there was a dunkin' donuts opening but I was disappointed. At first the donuts looked good and fresh but the taste was not good. I ordered a jelly donut and the only thing that gave it flavor was the jelly. The rest of the donut was dry , no flavor and tasted funky. Also the staff looked sad and unfriendly no welcoming vibe at all. I'm just disappointed and would rather go to Krispy Kreme than Dunkin' Donuts any-day. read more

I came in around 8:45 AM to pick up a mobile order, however, it was not ready yet. There was one customer ahead of me as I was told by a gentleman that my order is almost ready. He had to remake her drink as he made it iced when she requested it hot. Then five customers came in after me, one of which ordered a breakfast sandwich at the same time I was also waiting for them to make my breakfast sandwich and finish my order. While waiting, two other employees came in from outside to start helping with orders. They served everyone else except me, and I was still waiting after all the other customers left. I almost took another customers breakfast sandwich as it was sitting on the counter next to my unfinished order, so I assumed it was mine as I was waiting before they even got to the restaurant. I waited at least 10 minutes for this mobile order and saw everyone else got served before my order was completed. Then, a girl making the breakfast food said "what!" when she looked over at me waiting. Like, I'm tired of waiting for an order that should have already been completed. And you made other customers their food before making the food for my mobile order which I was their first for. I was in the restaurant before the other customers and will not be coming back. Good help is hard to find clearly after reading these other reviews. I was polite, but one girl who helped me was not. read more

Poorly managed site. I like the donuts, but they aren't good about keeping on top of their supply. It's not that we like exotic donuts--I'm talking powdered, glazed, sugared--basic donut shop requirements. But I've probably stopped in 10 times total hoping to pick up donuts (varying times of day, weekday and weekend), and 7 of those times, they had only a last few hard donuts left in the shop. I am not saying they have to always have every style in hand, but it seems ludcrious that they can't figure out the formula and have at least a few of the more popular flavors available at all times. If you want a plain donut, or a specialty one for $3, go to this shop. If you want anything else, they're not likely to be able to help you. read more

Please fix your donuts! I am a huge Dunkin supporter and was excited for this location to open. Coffee tastes like Dunkin coffee, so that's fine. The donuts were terrible though. Nothing like on the east coast where the donuts are not out of this world but are perfectly decent. Tried six different donuts. Every one of them was stale. The cake donuts were too soft and had the same flavor and texture as a boxed Entenmenn's. Definitely doesn't smell like they're baking/frying anything there so I'm guessing the donuts are trucked in. I feel bad for the staff here. Saw what I think was the manager come in in a bad mood. The staff was busy and all she did was tell them they need to clean and go back out into her car and just sit in there instead of helping out. Coming from Massachusetts , where Dunkin is a revered and much appreciated business , I was so excited to visit the Dunkin Donut here in San Carlos...very disappointing as the selection is scant. Returned another day ,earlier in the morning and the same...hardly a selection and NO muffins available. I asked the woman at the register , if they bake only once daily or throughout the day...her response at 11/AM...with 3 selections only of DD available..."our baker will be back at 4/PM" I cannot see how this store can remain open w/ this attitude for providing the selection of DD. This is a franchise and the baking schedules must be part of the curriculum...or so I was thinking...no uniformity here for providing the public w/ donuts and muffins. There is a small menu offered for sandwiches, I notice. The inside of the store is very bright and clean; many tables and stools at an eating bar near the window. The staff is very young and offer no solutions to this problem of no selections or variety. read more

OMG, absolutely the worst donuts I have ever tasted, and I'm including Safeway. I honestly think they make their donuts in the morning and expect them to last till closing. I went in last night at about 5:00pm and the donuts were extremely dry with no taste. I felt like I was in a Seinfeld episode where Kramer was tasting the mangoes and he spit it out. Sorry but a donut at a DONUT SHOP shouldn't sit for 16 hours, that's what I expect at Safeway but not a donut shop that only does donuts and breakfast sandwiches. If you go to Chucks in Belmont at about 8:00pm, you can get fresh French donuts still warm. read more

I ordered 4 of the egg and cheese wraps with white cheddar and end up with american cheese instead.
