Brothers Donuts - A dozen delicious donuts

This is a really popular donut shop located in the downtown of Franklin. Nothing fancy, a very…read morebasic interior; the donuts just speak for themselves. They have a wide variety of specialty donuts. Super delicious! I think the flavors rotate pretty frequently, but when we went it was a lot of fall flavors like pumpkin, maple, and apple. There wasn't a donut not to like, these are really good. Also very reasonably priced at $21 for a dozen! They open early and sell out of flavors quickly. At 8:00 many trays were already empty, so get there early!

Our first impression was how it gave hole in the wall vibes which we find typical means everything will be out of this world. There was a small line but tons of donuts and tons of preorders set for pick up. When it was finally our turn I was extremely disappointed with the service. The woman behind the counter was a bit short and a bit rude. As it was our first visit we didn't know what flavors they had and which flavors they advertised but didn't currently have as only some donut trays were labeled. I assumed the printed list of flavors was accurate so I figured I'd order from there, I was wrong. I also noticed that at least two of the flavors I had requested were available but were on refill trays so she didn't even look. Honestly it was rather disappointing to drive all that way for subpar service. All of that said we will definitely be back as the donuts were truly OUT OF THIS WORLD! We have had donuts all over New England and these are by far the best. The strawberry cream donuts had real fresh strawberries, the lemon cream was delicate and crazy flavorful, the chocolate glazed was light and fluffy (which is rare for a cake donut), and the blueberry cream was unique and delicious. We will be back but we do hope the service is better. Unfortunately I am a strong believer that the service should be as good as the product or you will lose customers so I hope this was a one time thing!

There was a short line and we ordered two donuts with a cold cider. We waited 15 minutes for our donut but it was worth it since it was hot and fresh. Cider - had a lot of spices so it balanced out the sweetness. Maple drizzle cider donut - I'm not a huge maple person but this was so good. The maple was not too sweet since it was a light drizzle. This was my favorite of the two we got. Cinnamon sugar cider donut - the cinnamon sugar was sweeter but I love cinnamon so I still liked this one.

Was NOT disappointed. They are a couple miles out of town (Meredith). The donut building isn't much bigger than a food truck, but they pack in a fryer, at the end of which, the donuts are either cinnamon sugared or maple drizzled. For a little more, you can get (real) bacon added to a maple drizzle. It's great that these are so fresh. They are possibly the closest I've had to home made. Flavor is exactly what you want, both cinnamon and drizzle are really delicious, but adding bacon to the drizzle is highly recommended. If you are anywhere near, do make the trip.

But it was New Year's Day, options were limited, but I'm so grateful Farmer & The Bell was open, because this experience has changed my life, and here's why. If you lined up a dozen donuts in front of me, I would have never chosen a French cruller. But one bite into the double chocolate donut, I instantly knew it the #1best donut I've ever had. And I don't say that lightly--I'm a self-proclaimed foodie with very high standards. My wife and I loved it so much that we went back into the line and ordered a dozen more to bring all the way back to Connecticut for friends and family. April immediately stood out behind the counter. She greeted every customer with a huge smile and true New Year's cheer, radiating gratitude and positivity. What impressed me most was watching her greet regulars by name--especially impressive considering they've only been in their permanent location for a couple months. Even with the long line, everyone was friendly and upbeat. When it was our turn, we never felt rushed. In fact, they took the time for genuine small talk, which made the experience even better. What really sealed the deal for me was their story. You can read more about it on their website. I got goosebumps reading it. There's no question we'll be back to Woodstock--and it might just be a three-hour drive for a donut craving!

Went right before closing on a Saturday in December and they were still fully stocked. Got the maple donut ($4) as well as a spicy crab pastry ($8). I believe many of their donuts have a lemon flavor to it with fresh lemon zest as the maple I had did. Both pretty good although I wish the crab pastry had been warmed. Coffee and ice cream available as well. They also sell sandwiches, prebottled drinks, and some souvenirs. Free water. Restroom and parking available. There's tons of seating here upstairs and downstairs as well as outlets and solid wifi - would come to study or work here out of all the places in Woodstock. Good vibes overall
